  1. looks like the TAT put something out about it......
  2. where do you like to get your info from?
  3. I know BKK is supposed to open back up on the 15 of Oct., but I just heard from my Thai friend that CM will be open on the 1st for foreign travels. And when I say "open" I mean flying into CM and not needing to quarantine. Is there any truth to this?
  4. Hello. Iv been looking at joinsherpa.com to research travel restrictions. The information on the site is vague and does not distinguish between transit passengers and people who want to officially enter the country. Could anyone recommend a different site or does anyone know the latest transit status(s) of: Singapore, HK, Japan or South Korea. As of just looking at the site, only South Korea is allowing for transit. Thanks a mil.
  5. My friend got the jab last Friday. I think it was Sinopharm.
  6. I also heard that they have to pay for the vaccine. 100 USD a dose for Moderna.
  7. You got a point there. I guess Im just envious of thoes who get to vacation and enjoy their lives right now.
  8. With all do respect, the Phuket Sandbox sounds like a joke, as does "leisure travel" in the middle of a pandemic. People are losing their livelihoods and being separated from their loves ones, while others are more worried about where their next vacation will take place. I realize people want to live and enjoy their lives and I am just saying maybe they could do it somewhere with a lower infection rate. Thailand is really infected right now.
  9. Ok, the Sandbox is NOT for me. The Sandbox is for tourist minded people. In my opinion, if people are going to be that desperate to engage in leisure travel, they deserve the invasive swabs and a tracking device. Just saying: its not a good time to travel and be a tourist. As for the onward/repatriation ticket, I need it to obtain the (COE). Im literally looking at the requirements now. To me, it sounds like I will have to purchase two onward tickets. One to get the (COE) and another before my flight, just in case the airline asks for one.
  10. It still says you must quarantine for 14 day, PLUS undergo 3 covid test and have a tracking device on you.... Sounds worse than BKK..... Also, the onward flights are only valid for 48 hours after purchase. How will immigration accept this if my flight TO Thailand if more than 48 hours out? Do they assume you purchased the ticket you "rented" for 48 hours?
  11. Yes I have ties. Things are stressful in the covid era. Im starting to think it will be easier to bring Thailand here if you know what I mean. ????
  12. I realize. I meant to delete this post but the website was down all day.
  13. Whats the catch with the Phuket Sandbox? Its not the 14 day quarantine that bothers me but more so the grand I will spend for the hotel stay. What does ALQ stand for?
  14. All of the requirements are reasonable except the quarantine imo. They are making us quarantine even with a negative covid test, 100,000 covid insurance, and a covid vaccination. Im thinking about holding out for a few months. After they get the vaccine roll out maybe things will calm down?
  15. Whats going to happen if I purchase health insurance and try to fly to Thailand without a visa? In order to get a tourist visa the embassy wants you to have: 100,000 dollars covid insurance, a certificate of entry, negative covid-19 test, fit to fly form complete by a physician, a completed declaration for this "fit to fly form", quarantine hotel booking info, onward flight booking, a negative covid-19 test for your dog, etcetera... The language school NEVER mentioned anything about these ridiculous requirements and I would have never learned about ANY of them if I never called the embassy in the first place! Sorry for the new thread ubonejoe. The previous one was cluttered with extraneous posts. Id like to just fly to BKK and deal with immigration there. I will be covid insured and vaccinated. What immediate issues might arise for me?
  16. Now I am learning about the health insurance requirements for covid-19 treatment. This is getting really cumbersome. Travelers insurance is only good for a couple months and is none renewable in most cases.
  17. Thanks ubonjoe. Now that we have the Rona, traveling has gotten super stressful. It would probably be better to just stay in the states but I have a special Thai person in my life that I need to see. Im going to dig into this all tomorrow. It's getting late here.
  18. Im not doing the Sandbox in Phuket. The language school has immigration down and they never mentioned it as being an option.
  19. Ok. I am doing research on this "proof of onward travel" or "throw away tickets" now. Please stay tuned. Im sure Ill have questions. Thanks again. ????
  20. Im not sure exactly what you mean ubanjoe. Last time I came to Thailand I did not have a return flight or any flight leaving Thailand and I still got my Visa. I am planning on doing a full 1 year ED Visa. Im starting to think I should just skip the Tourist visa and do a Visa exemption/ visa on arrival. I don't want to waste money on a random flight I wont be taking just to get the tourist visa. What would you do?
  21. Hey man thanks for the info. 650-2100 baht is beyond affordable. The testosterone and AFP tests are the most important ones for me. BTW: Iv been feeling really worn down and sickish lately. What finally made me feel normal again was fasting. It's scientifically proven to boost your human growth hormone and that alone can fix a myriad of issues. Best
  22. Thanks a million ubonjoe. You are always a huge help. A couple of e visa questions if you don't mind..... First, how long does it take to get the e-appointment slip "with the bar code" after I submit my e-visa online application? Then, how many days before my flight do you think I should send in my paper work "with the e-appointment slip/bar code" in? It says 14 days minimum processing time which leaves me wondering how long it's going to actually take. Last: I shouldn't get rejected for not having a return flight, right? Thanks again. ???? ???? ????
  23. What is the current situation if I fly into BKK on a tourist visa or do a visa on arrival? Everything is time sensitive because I need to get up to Chiang Mai and get my paper work started with the language school so we can convert my visa into a student visa. Im fully vaccinated and have my CDC card.
