Can you advise what you entered in the Flight no./Vehicle no. field as I can't get past that.

What does it say or do that makes you think it must be a Thai email address?  Many Thais (including guesthouses and hotels) use generic hotmail.com or gmail.com addresses so how would they work?

On my previous application I used my own one.  On the paper version I use my own one.

I got the message "wrong e mail address"

It's your own email address you put in.

I noticed it updated the other day so tried it again but it wouldn't accept whatever I typed in the Flight no./Vehicle no. field, despite entering the same as last time when I completed it successfully (although never managed to print it out).  Anyone else having the same problem?

If it would work, I would use it, as I said in the thread linked above:

I also struggle with scanning the MRZ on my passport so work is still needed there IME.

My E-mail is not accepted. It have to be a Thai mail address

The only way you will really know is to talk to the supply authority.

In those 400 mtrs are 2 other connections but they have a thin line, 10 square mm, on wooden poles. Maybe they want to cooperate to go to the PEA. But I know Thai people do not like to pay because they are satisfied with the present situation.

  4. Possibly I have to pay my own power line from meter to my new house, it is about 400 mtrs.

I have seen a few other houses with small steel poles as support for their power line, also a few 100 mtrs.

But they do not have aircon and/or pump and waterheater for shower. Rest is just a refrigirator, freezer and led lights.

I know these power lines are thick and very stiff. Which kind of lines I should buy ( insulation type, copper, aluminium, steel, thickness) for 400 mtrs?

The poles have a distance of about 40 mtrs.

Do I need 60 amps or 45 amps. Waterheater is max. 3600 Watt and aircon about 3000. Pump 400 watt and occasional a electric waterheater for coffee.

What about earth/ground? Am I to far away of a pole with a aerthpin?

  6. Dear members.

I need a bank in Thailand and like to know how this bank (Krungthai} in general is for customer service and skills in English at the service desk by phone.

Also the use of E banking and mobile banking. Is their mobile banking also available if you are in Europe? In Thailand I use a Thai SIM and in The Netherlands a Dutch SIM card. Any issues known?

The E banking on your laptop is this 100% available and no issues?

The app worked perfectly yesterday, the PC version, too.

You have to do it the exactly correct way, otherwise it won't work.

Yes very correct. If your guesthouse do not have an E-mail address stop with it, it is mandatory.

Also the address street name. My guesthouse have no street name, but able to put moo 9.

My guesthouse have no E-mail, lucky me.

The spice of life... right on spot!

The richer, and safer, the country, the deader it is.

Thailand has its problems, like every country, but it is alive!

No 9 to 5, no Sunday close, no August holidays and no long winter... life goes on 24/7.

In Germany, you feel like killing yourself after 5 pm, in France, it's on Sunday... Southern Europe, Spain, Portugal, Italy, fares better, but still comes short to Thailand.

Plus there is obviously the climate issue... during the 8 to 9 months of winter, Europeans are not encouraged to wander outdoors, and remain locked at home.

You live your live in a city I pressume. In the real Thailand life stops at 21:00 hr and starts at 05:00 hr (rooster)

  9. I am not living in Thailand but spend a lot of times in Koh Samui as tourist and in isaan for vissiting family. As a tourist there is no problem at all. But... as soon I am in isaan and I need something to be done with documents or family issues it starts with tea money. I found out that in my village they have one headman who have a few sub headmen for so called other Moo's. When you need them you have to pay. And you need them for everything. For selling Sor Por Kor land, which is illegal, for signing as whitness I am married, I was married outside Thailand???, to get a house number( not build yet), to get water connection etc. In Townhall I have to use 2 whitnesses and the volunteers, 2 officers, also 50 baht fixed price. For getting a bank acount proof of residence plus headman 500 baht etc. etc.

I asked my wife (she lives already 20 years in The Netherlands) about this and she says this is normal and is and was from all times. She defend those people because their salary is low and to become a headman costs a lot of money ( buying votes).

This tea money sits in the roots of the community I believe, nobody will fight against it.

Will never change I believe as long it is topdown in the government

How to take these pictures if one not have a house? We stay in a hostel in town because we are busy to build a house and don't have a house number yet. Is in and out the hostel possible?

No,you do extend the visa. The extension is based on retirement, but that refers to the initial visa, the Non-Immigrant O based on retirement. An extension is always based on something. It's same when you apply for a 30 days extension on your 60 days TR Visa. You extend your initial visa.

Even after three consecutive 1 year extensions, your visa is still the Non-Immigrant O based on retirement.

I obtained a NON-O ME this week. On the visa sticker is nothing written it is for retired or Married or any other purpose???

He is wrong about visas can only be obtained outside Thailand. You can for example start with a 60 days TR Visa obtained in your home country, then at the local Immigration office, with the required documents and the TM86-form, after 30 days, you can convert the tourist visa into a 90 days Non-Immigrant O Visa based on retirement. That Visa is exactly same as the 90 days Non-Immigrant O Visa obtained in your home country. This conversion is very common. After 60 days you can apply for a 1 year extension based on retirement. But only if you meet the requirements, but that's another story.

I have a NON-O ME and go in October.

Is it possible to get a "Certificate of Residency" the same day after doing your TM 30 for the first time?
