And similar in other countries. It's easy to say: I will move to somewhere else. But how easy is it to live happy in another country which some of those people who want to move possibly never visited before?
I know, Thailand is not perfect. But I am irritated when lots of people seem to thing all will be so much nicer in this new country - which they basically don't know.
Or how many of you have detailed knowledge, experience, and possibly contacts in your new destination?
I think it would be Much the SAME as when I came to Thailand the first time.
Back when Thailand was more like all the other SEA nations, and what they are like now.
It would be like a Do Over, in a more reasonable, and no none sense, location.
Just another Learning Adventure in Life, without all the Time and Money Scams,
being Forced upon those, who for the most part, Have tried to be Law abiding,
and Positive members of Thailand.
I have never "Eaten" off a Thai, and have payed all my debts, including several large Medical Bills.
But have never received any recognition or benefit, from any part of Thai Government for this.
And I am not asking for anything now, Except to be treated fairly, and not like a pending criminal.
Of course I do accept the fact, that because I decided to build a Retirement life here,
and Made a Family, Home, and all that goes with that, I assumed that Thailand, would take note,
and make it easier and less stressful, in the coming years, that is my fault.
However I never thought, that Thailand would regress, into more of an Unwelcome Host.
Adding more and more Red Tape, Banking, and now Insurance, Hoops to jump through.
As I am now 75, and no chance to get reasonable Insurance, much less at a affordable cost.
I am forced to consider an alternate retirement location, Never mind the breakup of Family,
assets, and the general chaos caused to my life, Due to these STUPID Biased Rules.
I can only submit and move, While Praying Karma upon the Heads of those responsible.

Become the Alpha in your territory, and all the Dogs will know who you are, and where you stay.
Just get a old milk jug, and pee in it for a day.
Then use it to mark your territory, along the boarders of your home, drive, property corners.
Also watch where the Dogs mark around your property, and always remark over them.
Do this every day for a week, then once a week or two after.
Soon you will notice that all the Dogs Know you, and where your Home is.
They will regard you as an Alpha to respect, and part of the local pack.

Another solution is to simply allow anyone on a one year extension to buy into the Thai Social Security system which provides universal coverage. Tourists are not part of this but can be prought into the system by a surcharge on their ticket to Thailand of say 500 Baht with a co-payment of 1000 baht to weed out the frivoulous.
There are so may things that can be done to give everyone universal coverage at affordable rates but so far the powers that be seem to want to do it in a way that is neither fair just or even workable,
Why can't Bureaucrats ever see the simple solution, like adding all over 50 to the Thai Social Security system.
Sure they won't get a new watch, but would be a Real solution to the problem.

So much to do over nothing.
So Many Opinions whether correct or not, Does not matter, because it will change tomorrow.
The Forever moving Shell Game will keep any REAL SOLUTIONS, from ever being accepted.
Because a real solution does not line the Pockets of Mr Big.
If the purpose was to really cover any Hospital Lose, they would simply allow ALL LONG STAY,
OR Tourist, to Join the Thai Social Security Program during their stay in Thailand.
This Program is already set up, and would only need an addition of a few tiers, to cover all.
Just like the Bank BS, where the money is supposed to show the ability to support yourself
while in Thailand, BUT you can not use it to do that, cause it has to be locked in a Bank.
Does any one Believe any of this Nonsense, well maybe some that are sitting in their ivory tower,
completely detached from reality, devising ways to fatten their wallets.
So while common people with common sense, try to get past the smoke and mirrors,
the insanity runs full steam ahead, so have another bowl of noodles and pick a shell.

You can get a 6 month printout stamped by your Bank Branch, but you need a 12 month statement.
Bangkok Bank will give you a 12 month Deposit Statement for a couple hundred Baht, which will show your International deposits with the Total.
You have to order it from BB Hq, and takes about 7-10 days to receive at your branch.
You also need Bank Account Confirmation Letter, Showing your name linked to the Bank Book account number,
this should be done same day as your visit to IO, also make a transaction just prior to making the letter to show link between the letter and your account,
dated same day.

I have to ask a Common Sense Question.
If you are over 55, and on a Retirement Extension, but receive monthly deposits over B65k,
Who would think you have some kind of money tree in Thailand ?
Why the big deal to show that the money comes from outside Thailand ?
One could have a Thai Sugar Mama with connections outside, to send you money monthly.
So whats the point ?

Why is it so hard to use common sense, and do the simplest thing,
Just allow anyone staying in Thailand long term, to Join the Thai Social Security system,
pay their premiums and be done.
PS: And stop Medical Price Fixing @2-3 times the normal rates.

Setup a Plan for Expats to pay into the Thai Social Fund system,
thereby not being required to have insurance as the Thai government would already cover them.Also this would save all the downsides of Health care, without the need for more red tape in the Bureaucracy,
as it is already set up, and only needs a Sub Heading for Expats, to be added to the system.
This would help Both Thai and Expat alike, without the forced Insurance Scam.

Today i had my Thai son go to New Phrae Immigration office an inquire about insurance
that is required for my Retirement Extension.
They say NOT REQUIRED, so for a 75 year old expat, I may have lucked out this time.
However, I am tired of walking through the Tall Thai Grass, never knowing when the
immigration snake may strike.
So i am making a plan for moving to Cambodia, and not waiting for the next BS rule to drop.
All my Thai Family have become very upset over this situation, as well as myself.
I have explained that even if i have to move, it will be cheaper and easier for us to visit,
than paying the Extortion via Insurance, along with all the other nonsense required.
I will go through the gauntlet for renewed extension mid November, 30 days before expiration.
Which will give me time for exit plan should things go south.
All this stress over red tape BS, really blows my idea of a relaxed retirement,
which was my intention for coming to Thailand in the first place.

This is a Case of "Can't see the Forest for the Trees"
All over Thailand Falangs are leaving, their assets of Condos, House, and Apartment Rentals
being Vacated, Making Room for the Chinese to move in.
Then they will turn up the Bio-metric system and integrate it with the Chinese Social Score System.
They are killing two birds with one stone, get rid of Freedom minded westerners who would Make
a lot of Noise over the creeping control grid, while taking more and more Freedom away from the
people.
And the Icing on the cake, is all the money they make while doing it.

Have been here with my family for 13 years, each year more BS added.
Just have to wonder how many of these political geniuses own stock in the Insurance Business.
After checking I find nothing affordable for a 75 year old in Thailand.
For all the Butt Kissers, How much do you spend on Health Insurance ?
OH you don't need because your on the B30 plan.
This is nothing more than another Money Grab by greedy Aholes.
I really feel sorry for Thais, such a wonderful country and people, going down the China Path.
Now I have to figure which FREE Country to relocate to, Cambodia, Vietnam, or other.
