Convince the neighbours to stop feeding it!
No one is feeding it, as I said it comes and goes and someone came and collected it earlier. I take it you didn't read my OP properly.

Strangely enough I can hear one of them from my gaff. What do you have to do to find peace in this country?

What a country when a dog has move rights than humans..must be 50 people in this village yet the dog wins the day. Staggering.

Maybe going back to civilisation is the answer.

5 days now, same dog, no matter how many times it gets booted out it just keeps coming back, I wouldn't mind so much but it makes a load of noise and at night too and upsets other dogs in the village. I'm not sure if it's a stray or has a home as earlier a woman come to collect it but didn't speak a word of the queen's..anyhow several hours later back it comes, never seen anything like this before.
Any clue on how to get rid of this thing, I mean without literally running after it picking it up and strangling it to death? The thing is ruining my days and night and has to be culled..cheers

I would prefer to keep applying in London as I do flick back and forward, but I believe the “Multi entry Non O” is not being issued anymore in London if I’m not mistaken ??
Correct.

My position is very similar to yours but I prefer to keep getting the 1 yr non O's. Isn't it a load of hassle to apply for the extension of stay?

After the same amount of time living in Thailand as the OP sanemax, decided on a change.
Happened to choose Italy for a 4 month break from Thailand, longest time out of Thailand in 10 years. It has been great. Coming to an end, have return flight booked to Thailand.
Probably stay there for a few months then back to Italy for a longer stay, 6 months.
Also fancy a stay in the UK, maybe just a couple of weeks.
As to UK weather, seems to be used as an attack weapon.
I am not keen on UK winter weather but others are probably hardier than me and as some have suggested, just wrap up more.
Simple enough.
I find the Thai summer weather to be too hot and humid.
Each to their own.
Slagging off civilised weather when posting from a sauna not fit for humans is just deranged, is it not. Some real odd people on here.

This should be a lesson for you, although an expensive one. Next time, get your <deleted> out of the house BEFORE you break up with your GF. Walk away, it's really your only option.
Expensive? Hasn't he just lost a laptop, camera and some clothes? Hardly been turned over for a few million bhat, has he.

Yes, I should have added they should either apply the same rules for all or change the "law" as it is totally random now, luck playing a large part for some!
Definitely, could just get an IO who just had a big ruck with the wife and takes it out on you. But as ubonjoe alludes to it's highly unlikely to become law as it would cost the gov money ultimately, so will just continue in this roulette mode. Personally I am on a 1 yr non O based on being married, but who knows that could change one day...and yes, I did get married just to get the visa ????

This is not a new problem or rule, as an offshore worker who has resided here many years I was given only 17 days on entry and told to get another type of visa, that was 14 years ago!
my point was what if it was made actual law about how many visits one could make on a tv or non exempt in say a calendar year...never said the current climate at immigration is a new problem per se for folk such as your goodself.

There is are no existing regulations or rules limiting stays on tourist visas. Same for visa exempt entities other than the 2 at land border crossings per calendar year.
Right, it's just random, but realistically you aren't going to keep getting issued tv's or allowed in on non exempts forever. maybe time it was made law so everyone knows where they stand at least, or maybe the gov are afraid they could lose money, plus it could create big problems for offshore workers who are under 50 and not married who come and go?

If you are here on a tourist or Ed visa and work you are illegal in most cases.
Sure, but the phrase used was living here illegally, not 'working'., although I suppose it can flush out to be the same thing in some cases.
Ie one can see how this works though, if you are under 50 not married and do not have a work permit or an elite visa (unlikely) or a dependency visa, ie have children here (bit of a grey area) then it's a big red flag, and assume these are the types the gov is targeting. Must be a few thousand of them in Pattaya alone.

Oh dear. One can only be living here illegally if they are on overstay, otherwise you have been stamped in by an IO, correct or not?
What made you so bitter out of interest?

It's very simple.
If you are of working age and have spent many years inside the country on visas or exempt entries, with only occasional short trips over the border to renew a visa, you either have great independent wealth or a means of income inside the country.
The onus is not on the IO to prove where your local income comes from, but on you to properly explain how you can afford to live here while pretending to be a tourist. You should prove funds in the same way that the over 50 retirees or married people have to show income or large savings. It may be difficult for those who have used Thailand's former laxness to set up a life here, but if there isn't a visa category that fits your situation, bad luck, move on.
The fact that past practices allowed people unlimited entry and stays in this way doesn't mean the country is in the wrong when they decide to tighten up on this unfettered access. It really just means the party is over for many of those who have lived on Thailand's largess for years.
''It really just means the party is over for many of those who have lived on Thailand's largess for years''
Mmmm that old chesnut. That is what you would love to think. Sadly for you it's not the case, people always find a way. I haven't heard of a single person who is not in Thailand who want to be because they can't get in or cannot stay here.

Who or where have you read that you can't get Non-O visas in your home country? My home country embassy/consulate still lists them as available to apply for.
If these visas aren't for people to stay here all year round, why are you allowed to go to immigration to extend it for 12 months again and again and again, without even having to leave the country?
Multi-entry visas are not designed for people that are here all year round, why do you think they are multi-entry? Furthermore, you DO have to leave the country, you have to leave the country every 90 days during the visa period and you cannot get a new visa in Thailand when applying for a fresh visa. You are clearly mis-informed.

Is it possible to keep returning to your home country every year (or Laos/Vietname) and keep applying for a new multiple entry Non-O? Therefore not doing the stay in Thailand to renew every 12 months thing.
Is it also possible to enter Thailand on a visa exempt, SETV or METV then while in Thailand convert or extend into a Non-O visa at the immigration office?
It has already been said you can't get this type of visa in your home country now. I have had 3 or 4 1 year non o's now and nothing has been said to me yet, but one day my luck may run out. Strictly speaking these visa's are not for people that stay here all year round, they are primarily for someone that regularly visits family, so a bit of a grey area in that respect.

Depends a bit how you do it if it requires breaking and entering or beating someone up like was suggested id say its against the law.
If it means getting some cops to help you or to negotiate with the GF then no not really a problem. We are just getting one side of the story, there might be a valid reason why she wants some money. There might also not be a valid reason who knows but best things is just to have some cops.
It will cost a bit but things will be settled.
I know there are bat <deleted> crazy girls out there.. I met one.. (after that never again first signs id look on). But seems that many guys find those crazy girls and never learn.
The point is he has every right to go and claim what is rightfully his, the fella lived in the house so i'd hardly call it breaking in (bit dramatic don't you think) and it's only rented so not even the gf owns the place anyway. Ridiculous to suggest he would be breaking the law.

Also had good experiences with the cops most of these tough guys here just repeat what they read.
Personally I just sort it out with the cops. I wonder what made the GF turn crazy. Some are crazy to begin with others just used by guys and get angry.
I prefer being a pussy and within the law then open myself up for all kinds of nasty stuff.
Going to take your personal belongings is NOT outside the law.
Big problem with same dog coming into the village
