  1. I can add my 5 cents about hospitals.

    Nuern Plurb Warn:

    1) hadn't discovered flees in the cat's hair than checked the cat I picked up from the street, as I told them.

    2) Answered I can spay a cat right after vaccination.

    3) I was told two cats died on the second day after spaying in there.

I can tell, though, that they succesfully treated the inflammation of my cat's tale after being bitten.

Muang Ake hospital looks much more cleaner and brighter. I spayed my cat there and saw many foreign customers happy with the service, and with great results after the same surgery. The staff is super friendly and prices are not high.

  2. We removed stitch today, and I met a woman at the Hospital, who had spayed her two cats and a dog in the same place. She told me about really sad experience, as her other two cats died after in two days being spayed in Nurn Plurb Warn. I really wish you'd be careful.

  3. I can tell you now about the clinic I used to spay a cat. It was Muang Ake Animal Hospital near Tesco Lotus, further to Sattahip less than 1 km, same side of Sukhumvit. We brought a cat at 9 o'clock, the operation was set of 11 am, and we were suggested to take a cat when she wakes up and so on, around 6 pm, so a doctor can watch her for a little after the operation. We took her back a bit earlier, before 5. She was ok, these guys even used the eye drops to make it easier for her. Her belly was shaven, with a medium bandage, no shirt. She recovered after surgery quite fast, we hadn't any problems (at least yet). Soon we will remove the only stitch. The cat didn't like the bandage, but other than that she is fine.

I liked that clinic more than Nuern Plurb Warn, it's more spacious, clean and bright, have bigger assortment of food and accessories, big rooms, additional space for pets. Doctors speak English well enough. And service isn't expensive.

  4. Usually it's done not for scanning, but for papers only to export a pet later. Some countires require it. Secondly, health issues is not considered as well as when we do vaccination every year! for our pets. It's done mostly to make it possible to take them along when we travel. I will not discuss it anymore, if you're interested in the problem, look at specialized forums.

  5. I guess, many do. At least, I can say for sure for Nuern Plurb Warn Animal Hospital as I saw ad saying about microchips last week there. They have vetpassports in English as well. As about vaccine - they have Fort Dodge only. If you don't know where this hospital is located, seach in this forum, there is a very detailed instruction.

  6. I like how the rooms look like. I'd better pay more to stay in such nicely decorated room than in poor 400-Baht spartan guesthouse room. But what about pets? You can be kind to pet-owners and allow to bring them along. At least small ones.

  7. Now they issue plastic driving license. If you have your driving license in English, you don't need to pass tests for driving and rules. But all categories you want your thai licences to be for, should be listed your home country's card. After giving all papers, you have to pass very easy tests for reaction.

  8. Russian will become the predominant language in Pattaya.

    And also the import crime.

Stop badmouthing about Russians! You don't know any Russiansm more likely, and just type whatever falls in your head. Yes, there are LOT of Russians in Pattaya, and most of them are short-term tourists. It's not our fault that tourist agencies sell Pattaya and Phuket as only destinations with rare exclusions.

Russian families and guys who stay here long time, even thought on tourist visas, are ok. They aren't criminal, just wealthy or hard-working enough to live here.

In newspapers and on TV there are no reports about Russians done something bad, only as about victims. But about British or other guys such news I see all the time... drunken fight or whatever. And I don't say right away that all British are scandal guys and alcoholics, why judge by few examples?

Russians speak English better than thais and believe me, they read this board. So don't be stupid and don't write things that can give some of us wrong, undesirable opinion.

  9. I was at ProLanguage today.

They do all the documents for you if you pay for 5 semesters... each for 30 hours, so you need to pay for 150 hours ahead. Study 6 hours per week. You can study 3 days per week or all day at Saturday.

The price is 32,500 Baht for 150 hours for group classes. No group organised yet.

You need to give them your passport, so they wiil apply at Ministry of Education. After that with needed documents you need to go to Thai embassy for 3 months Non-E visa, which prolongs for 9 months (it said in papers they gave me).

150 hours won't last for the whole year, but that doesn't matter.

AUA doesn't provide visas, as they said they cannot be sure that Thai language class will have enough students each semester, so they can't get your money and ask for the visa for you. Can speak with their director, though, who will be in Pattaya after 5th of October.

I like AUA as I like Jaycee so much, she's fun and proffessional. The teacher at ProLanguage is young! But advantage of PL is that they study you to read from the very start. In last semester you should write even essays in fact.

Anyone want to form the group for studying?
