Disagree entirely, it is just objectively the case, as well visible on the streets since now already a decade actually. The peak was 2016 ish. And as I already stated virtually everything now in my life is 3X improved; freedom, money, etc etc. As well I didn't see this change elsewhere in SE asia. This aside of virtually all majority agreeing, all true travelers and visitors were replaced since a decade by Chinese, Indians, Arabs, Russian/Ukranian increase. Same asean overall and every SE asian country their tourism is in positive growth except Thailand, since years. I even would argue I see Vietnam and Malaysia only having improved over the years, instead of reverse. If what you said came even close to truth or reality I would have had the same issue in all of these countries as I spend all the years there as much.

I earned way less, I knew way less that I wish that i knew 10-15 years ago but even I earn another 1 time more than inflation caused, it was objectively way more fun and nice here back in those years, and as far I can tell money wise even insane much better prior to that. To claim otherwise I would call cognitive dissonance. And I mean this mostly regardless of the money part too, the vibes are just gone. Hanoi has compensated and replicated it for me since 2018.

It's a total scam, i checked it once at the airport arrivals, they give people a rate of 2-4 THB lower than the real rate is in what you can actually spend with it net. Pointless too knowing contactless payments from visa/mastercard already work in almost all places. There really isn't a single thing where they can just do things right is there...
