Good question. Probably very few, including the OP. With time, the number of people capable of understanding such things is exponentially decreasing.

What is exponentially increasing is the assumptions made here daily, made up stats, figures to make some look like they're well informed when it's just a guess, topics about foreigners in a thinly veiled way of putting them down, along with a lot of biased  opinions.

It's clear you've reached you illectuall limit and it's way below the level of this discussion  - you resort to the classiccliche -  ‘Unless you’re the police, you can’t possibly know anything.’ That might work if illegal work and visa scams weren’t openly discussed in expat bars, flaunted on YouTube, and advertised in Facebook groups. You don’t need a badge to recognize a guy teaching English with a tourist visa or running a café in someone else’s name. Willful blindness doesn’t make the problem invisible — it just makes it easier for those abusing the system to keep doing it.

I didn't say because you're not the police you couldn't know anything. You might personally know one or two foreigners that are here overstaying or bribing officers to stay. Many of us can say the same thing because we know them well or they told us, which is still only hearsay.  Your statement, again,.........."there are dozens of foeireigners either over staying or  on illegal visas, working without permits, bribing local police"...is an assumption, as is this one,............."You don’t need a badge to recognize a guy teaching English with a tourist visa or running a café in someone else’s name"............... You would need the power to read minds, something no one has. There are people here teaching English that no one would ever be the wiser about, if they were doing it with a tourist,non-o immigrant or any other, or staying here illegally. How would you know if someone's running a cafe in another's name unless you had personal information about them? You wouldn't. Like some here, making assumptions is a daily thing, and seeing this is an adult forum, you aren't fooling anyone.

So as a bald Brummy ex-military, you think that my job and living in Thailand doesn't give me a good picture of who;s working illegally - BTW I've actually worked at immigration too!

No, the only way anyone can know about anyone here is to know them personally, and then you only know a little. Anything more is assumptions. Your statement..........."there are dozens of foeireigners either over staying or  on illegal visas, working without permits, bribing local police". the only one's privy to this information here is Thai law officers and Thai immigration, a job a foreigner can't have.

He could have anybody he wanted anywhere, obviously. Why taylor swift is what i dont get. Modern value has been screwed up, this poor guy doesnt know that hes being sold a lie

Again, no man alive could have any woman they want, and that will always be. People like certain types, and these types can come with a lot of money or none. Some women will go with most anyone for money, but the more independent a woman is, the pickier she usually is, as she doesn't need anyone's money.

People like these two like to stay in their own circle of cash, with most not going lower. This doesn't guarantee anything, as Hollywood marriages are more likely to end then normal ones. Their egos overrun anything else. She's a billionaire and her music isn't anything more special than we've heard for 50 plus years. Enya has a better voice and is more talented, just for one. He's just a football player that's paid more then he's worth. There are better out there and some aren't paid as much.

Nope. Not true at all, for decades companies have used the term wheat or have used the term wheat flour or unbleached wheat flour as a deceptive pseudonym for white flour. Whole grain wheat flour means just that.

Labeled just  wheat can mean a blend. Labeled with the whole wheat stamp means exactly that. The whole grain, germ, endosperm, bran. If it just says whole wheat it can have the whole grain and such in it, but also be blended. I didn't mean to mislead as it does need that stamp to be 100% sure. Whole wheat does mean the whole grain, although some breads also have other flours added to that 100% whole wheat. This shows what they mean on packages.....https://wholegrainscouncil.org/whole-grains-101/identifying-whole-grain-products.........and this further explains it........https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/whole-grain-vs-whole-wheat

Bear in mind anytime a label says wheat it means white flour, it's just a pseudonym and a cheap shot at the consumer.

This is the label for Dave's bread, available in the US. Notice the distinction in the description. Good stuff.

Whole wheat means the whole grain. White means refined flour, bran and germ removed. If it just says wheat flour it can have a combination of both.

If the rugby guys were bigger stronger and faster they would be playing in the NFL. The money is where the people are willing to pay to see

I think some could already play there. Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide. In the US it's football and baseball. They're all competitive equally. Some are just more physical.

Unless a sports fan, who would recognize him.  I never heard of him before, and just another Joe to me, if bumping into him at the market.

That's what all celebrities are to me. Just regular people who have a certain talent or a certain look for TV, and can remember some lines. As we've seen over the years, anyone can be on TV and some are promoted that look the same as people we see everyday. Hero worship makes them rich. The sports figures do well for a few years, besides the veterans that last longer, are given more money than they're worth, and sometimes don't live up to that money anyway. Teams sometimes win a couple of seasons in a row but usually are replaced by others who did better that year. Just a game. I've been watching the Minnesota Vikings since they started, and they've never won a Superbowl, even though they were the best team many years. Not worth the money they're paid.

Sure yes.  I was worth much more then a fat, old, stinky depressed lady with her hair in a bun and no makeup in the west.  Came here for young and sweet cuz I am worth it!

I'm guessing it was too hard for you to find one not stinky, with her hair down (all put it in a bun when they workout, are working around the house or are otherwise sweating), who took better care of herself, around your age, and doesn't need warpaint to hide flaws? I saw them everywhere and dated quite a few. Here young and sweet is likely looking for money, unless you're a local that works.

Sorry disagree with you there. Travis Kelce could have anyone he wants

Money does that. Besides women with money. Then they'll be more choosy and pick a better looking and built man. No man can have any woman he wants. Some aren't greedy and stupid and go by attraction. He's an average looking man with a lot of money and notoriety, which attracts mostly gold diggers.

  11. No adults are impressed by another's wealth. Bragging about having money or things shows a lack of respect and a need to feed an ego. Showing off while others around you are barely getting by, as happens here, isn't a way to make friends. Some who have a lot of money made it by hurting others in some way, and some jobs only contribute to other rich people's lives, so it isn't something to brag on. It brings out jealousy in some and again isn't a way to try to fit in , especially in a country where most are poor. Acting like you have a lot of money is also disrespectful, trying to be something you're not, especially when found out.

You have heard of Alpha males before right?. Not condoning violence, but not every male is a Beta.

And not every beta is a wimp. According to Corey Wayne, 97% of males are weak betas. Being a narcissist himself, raised by same (his words), his book shows how men can get most any woman they want by acting alpha. He's not married and has no children, which means he doesn't know how to go about things the right way. Betas are the responsible ones, raising families and providing for them, and many women go for the bad boys, which always end up as a disaster. Many leaders are beta, and having both qualities, alpha and beta are best. Being assertive but using teamwork, collaboration instead of controlling, Some think beta doesn't mean masculinity, and alpha does but that isn't valid. As far as the OP topic, this man brought that on himself. Talking <deleted> you better be able to back it.And what he said was wrong.

EU vs USA bread ... oh please.  There's excellent bread everywhere.  Though the mass produced bread in EU is probably healthier, since some of the ingredients used in USA are banned in EU.  Sadly, it's not just bread that uses ingredients banned in EU and other countries.  Topic for another thread.

I was not the in home, whole foods cook guy that I am now, but I did make my own bread, with a nice bread machine, when in USA.   Not that there wasn't any good bread to be found, and excellent, but, just silly priced, and I didn't know what was in it.

Same reason I make my own here in TH, I know what's in it, and an 830gr loaf cost me all of 25 or 35 baht, depending if whole wheat or rye, or just white bread.

You can get good healthy bread in the US but you'll have to shop at indie stores and Whole Foods Market, Sprouts, Trader Joes and the like. You can get good ingredients anywhere but some have to be imported.

Laos has a legacy of decent bread due to the French colonisation. However, it's been a long time since I had those delightful, freshly baked, slightly crusty home-made croissants on Vientiane.

The same as Vietnam. You can buy very good bread in bakeries there, along with getting a decent tasting one in the Banh Mi sandwiches.

    No they are not.

If you are getting your bread from 7, it is time to reassess your dietary habits.

The ingredients of Royal Sprouted Grain bread are wheat, soy, millet, gluten, brown sugar, oil, lecithin, yeast, salt, seeds and ascorbic acid. The same used in most breads besides brown sugar. Brown sugar isn't great, but most people eat sugar in one form or another so it isn't a bad choice.

The same as many other foods, which can contain a few ingredients that should only be consumed in small quantities. Most jar spaghetti sauce has some sugar, and even the Italians sometimes use a touch of sugar if the tomatoes are higher acidic.  and 7-11 has a lot of things that aren't unhealthy, just like all other stores besides the health food stores like Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joes and Central Market in the US just to name a few.

If you're living here and aren't cooking all of your food, you are getting some ingredients that aren't especially healthy, and if eating in restaurants, you have no idea what's in them.

    The Thai male:

25 and freeloading at his uncle's house.

Lazy. Smokes weed there all day.

The much older uncle reprimands him, telling him to cop on with his life.

This enrages the Thai male who must react with beating him with a weapon. But first needs to get2 of his friends to help just incase he cannot beat the nearly 60 year old man alone, even though he has a weapon.

Execute this spoilt entitled man-child with a bamboo club and hang his corpse in the village for all to see.

Likely true but enforcement is very weak here and many know killing someone, especially if you're young, will only get you a few years in jail, as the death penalty isn't carried out like it is in other countries. Once in 2009 and then once in 2018. This is three, so they'll have to put the blame on all three, and with the lawyers trying to prove who did what, the doubt will have them escaping serious punishment. They'll say they're so young, were high on drugs, not thinking, etc. If they actually did execute all three, it would definitely show others so inclined there might be severe penalties so they might think twice. Or not.

  17. I eat bread daily for breakfast, the Royal 12 seed or whole grain ones specifically. They're okay and you can buy them at 7-11 and the major store chains. There is a bakery in Bangkok called Landhaus I'll post a link for. I haven't yet tried them but they have good reviews and can deliver all over Thailand.

I'll be making my own bread once I move back home, as I've seen what my daughter makes there now, and it's healthy and tastes good.

Many here say that Europe has better bread than the US and it might be true if you're talking about mass produced grocery store bread. I've had bread from Whole Foods Market and other indie stores in Texas and they were very good. ............landhaus bakery..........https://landhaus-bakery-bangkok.com/?srsltid=AfmBOor1JaT4oRkEJTrhvx3TKc-yqdc8MrWPGtrNdajdRXke5HuFbkcQ

I bought Royal brand (green colour bag) whole-wheat bread in lotus the other day. 5 very thick slices. Think it was 40 baht. It's ok for toast and not too sweet. They also had a 12 seed variety which I'll try next time.

The 12 seed is what I eat every week, and it's the tastiest. Good toasted with Dalfours jelly. The whole grain is also good.

    Read the article.

    More evidence that weed kills.

    Potential responses:

"Weed doesn't kill people, people kill people."

"If weed is criminalized, only criminals will have weed."

    "From my cold, dead bong."

Some people should never do any mind altering substances but weed didn't cause these individuals to go off. Lack of self control and mental instability did. The same with people and guns or anything that can kill. People kill others here every day using weapons and not all of them are high, but I'm thinking many are drunk or on meth or cocaine.

so Its a wonder anybody would smoke it, Are they all self harming masochists?

Your  list rather tellingly omits any and all of the reasons why millions of people actively  choose to do so.    Why would that be ?

Much of what he said is correct, with the main idea that some people should never do any mind altering substances. It also isn't for children, as their brains are developing right into their mid 20's, so staying away from it as long as possible is a good idea.

People smoke to get high, which in most has them being happier, laughing, joking with friends. Sharing fun times, as long as you stick to the common sense.

Don't let it get to be a daily habit, especially if you need to work. Like any other mind altering substance, it can make you tired so driving afterwards isn't a good idea until you come down. It can make people lazy, not wanting to work their jobs, so that's something to consider. It affects everyone differently. I have friends that smoke every day and function at their jobs and some who have lost jobs because of laziness.

Just as alcohol affects some very badly, some should stay away from it also. The difference being weed doesn't kill if you smoke a lot, but alcohol does every day.
