I am so tired of the UK.
You know the answer then.
EU were offering UK little more than WTO terms, the UK have trump card here..Eire. Whatever the EU determines to hamper trade the UK recipricates on Eire. cost the EU aplenty

Brought this topic up a couple of years ago,yes still alive? Resting lower figure is 58, 80 something over 58,when I get moving it climbs to more respectful figure
I do take Thyroxine 200 mg,but this increases HR to 78 over what would be of 65 without taking Thyroxine,...but then thyroid problem, TSH would be getting well outside the ballpark figures
I post this as at sauna if I go from hot to cold too quickly I faint guys there roast then into cold plunge within seconds, finish me off
What I am asking,do I stay on 200 mg daily to keep TSH in balance,or take less to keep HR down, which is the most important? Thanks for relies

Its all pretty well hit and miss. Im on 200mg a day, cheap enough at 100 baht for 100pills 100 mg.
recommended i go down to 100mg daily, gave them up for few months as amount so low,but did notice later heavy arms etc so upped it back to 200 I just get TSH and T4 done a couple of times a year about 300 baht

went to queen sirikit again today ,saw another doc ,not heart ,200 baht ,appointment for next teusday ,for heart guy .
wish i could go back to UK ,but with covid ,you can forget it ,half the heart patients not getting treatment anyway ,also would never get back here.
Just about right bert bloggs, not just heart patients, cancer and whatever else. Liked going to India, really did,two hours away and the finest care (and cheapest) care. All the cancer scans up the ass/down the throat, heart scans, mri on my knee, there and then. cost a near fortune here 100,00 and up,there 1000 baht ,if that

Believe you have read of some married to government employees so have insurance through them. Marriage gives you nothing in itself.
The 90 year o;d NZ guy who had a stent fitted in lower leg a few months ago,did not state that, but who knows? he might have one

Thanks for the info all ,i had a by pass ,a long long time ago in the UK ,i know i had blockages again back in 2001 when when i had the tests ,an angiogram back in the UK ,a few days ago i was really bad ,thought the end was nigh ,now feel great again ,walking for half an hour this morning no problem ,anyway am going to hospital tomorrow ,for a check up.
Hello again bert bloggs...good name that,if I get banned again anytime soon may come back as bert bloggs 1.
anyway I believe looking at past quotes in earlier threads, if married to Thai you could get big discount on hospital treatment, and if you are thinking of going 'ome to UK the newly named PiP, well basically its the over 65s invalidity payment scheme. Pays up to 100 quid a week and is not means tested or taxable, should be a walk in the park getting it, anyone over 70 years plus, and best of all its a disqualifying benefit, cannot be touched

Hi
I reckon you can forget leaving Thailand anytime in the future as our chances of getting back are nil , otherwise i would have flown to the UK .which govt hospital would you go to?
Have always liked Red Cross in Sri Racha 40 baht Suk taxi to Robinsons, then 40 baht to hospital, taxi bike. Take passport and register, really efficient, but language is problem, few nurses can speak it but all the doctors there can, think all the private hospitals there are staffing the Red Cross hospital
Good Luck

Hello bert bloggs
May well be in the same boat as you,but other regions. Had op on knee few years ago,doc did not do much, but stated increased blood flow, and knee now fine, but other knee now painful. Maybe in line for a stent home-grown/superior/or medicated/imported,yes looked at choices, but its this damned covid that's stopping me doing anything at the mo ,cos its India
Anyway if you looking for prices after covid the op inc stent, private room, about 430 pounds If covid does not clear up any time soon will have to submit to Thai medicine, but at gov hospital

alright, thanks, i know memorial and its nearby
You will be taken there too Skin check up promotion few years ago, twice the price at check out,but no obvious signs of cancer that he could(and I could) see except behind the ear! yeah right costing of 4 thousand and he would fix it there and then, told him he was a liar, had further examination, nothing there

well, i went for numbness in my legs and wanted something
toxic to get things rolling, but the doctor never gave me anything,
instead i got antibiotic shots for some scratches i never ordered,
it wasnt until the 3rd injection i realized i wasnt getting the shots i ordered, i called it off but still had to pay the 3rd injection, and then they suggested i go back to the quacksalver hoping for better luck this time
friend went there for (what he thought was a routine check up) told to stand still, not move ,cost him 1 and a third mil. Knew later on he had been taken to the cleaners, depths of depression when realisation took hold, perhaps recommendation to visit the psychiatric dept. there too
of all the govt. hospitals I have visited, not many ,the one liked the most the Red Cross hospital Sri Racha, excellent doctors, nurses and treatment, but spoken English could be a problem until the doctor appears

That is not what it means. Uninsured people also pay for their own health care (for that matter, most insured people pay for outpatient care).
Self-insured means you have sufficient funds set aside to be able to suddenly pay for even a catastrophic illness or accident. 3-4 million is the minimum for that if using private hospitals, at least 1 million if using government facilities.
And, you are either able to replenish it or you have a clear plan what you will do after it is spent.
Yes ,the in-treatment from past quotes usually refers to cancer treatment, which yes is a cause of concern to finances (here in Thailand) but other choices are there,go back to UK,or India. The guy who clocked up close on 5 million through two cancer operations (in -patient),one whipple was a total disaster (to him) no after care, none 34000 pounds wasted, ended up back in UK
Max he would have paid I estimate 100.000 baht in India and far better and after care, inc chemo
Even with ins there is no repatriation scheme, the ins pot will run dry quite quickly

As said above contact aainsure in Pattaya. They will suggest a French company called April insurance who insure up to the age of 70..about 80k baht a year inpatient only for 500k usd per year cover. No medical required.
Depends how much cover you have bought, not very much Id say. The guy earlier I quoted was paying 100 quid a week latterly, . The private hospitals will empty your insured pot in half an hour if paying a small amount

Earlier on in another thread Guy joined at around 57 or so years old, a UK insurer Prime, caught cancer shortly after, relates to how lucky he was at the time. Had the op 3 million, lung taken out, sure as night follows day it came back another 2 million for further op,by the time he gave insurance up,just a waste of money here in Thailand up,( 5/6 years or so) he must be lighter than 34000 gbp or so
did follow as much as I could the costings,as with cancer its selective and elective. the last op 2 million ) he could have had it done in India 2 hours away for 50 000 baht, plus another load of treatment at a fraction of Thailand's, free in UK ,that is where he eventually ended up,no doubt dead now
His ins company informed him that aftercare was severely limited in scope and costings which decided it for him

Yes thanks for replies. The key has a chip in it,the plastic chip holder and key blade became detached. Have seen the guy on 7/11 corner ,quoted 1500,but turns out he cannot fix. Another 2000 Big Key,but took it to small garage, seems they can do it (repair) for 2 to 3 hundred
