I assume you mean an extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage to a Thai. No insurance is required to apply for it.
Thank you

Here is my problem, I went for renewal of my retirement visa.
I thought I had everything covered. All the little extras they want for this year.
But no, I have 800,000 in the bank, but it has only been in 8 months, they changed from 6 month to 1 year on the money.
The lady said to bad no visa for you. I ask , what if I change to a married visa, she thought and said money is fine for marriage visa.
OK cool, but I have no health insurance, not required for a retirement non O , ..
Now I would like health insurance, I have very good back in the States, but none here.
Add to it I have had cancer and do have Atrial Fibrillation and some lung issues.
At 71 with health issues I just don't qualify for health ins at a price I can afford. ....
Question does any know for sure if health ins is required for Marriage Visa? ..
I am between a rock and a hard place, and I damn sure do not want to go back to the USA now.
That place is a death trap now.
Thanks for any kind of help in this.

I have only been here 6 yrs and mostly kept to myself,
but I have heard you can get someone knocked off pretty
cheap here.
I would go that route, the dude will never pay anything
and you know that.
Spend that lawyer money more wisely .
Better pay that debt with Bit-coin , just to cover your tracks.

Nobody want´s that. This is about consistency. When you compare airlines and buses to BTS, the rules are different. How is that going to be seen and understood by the public and citizens? That´s the thing that has to be fixed. It´s not about that the protective measures is wrong. It´s about that they are no consistent.
Stop and think just a minute, there are 70 million in Thailand, 330 million in USA and 7.5 Billion
in the world.
How in your perfect world do get 7.5 billion doing the same thing at the same time to suit you.
In situations like this you try to make rules that make sense for the situation.
5 people per car on the BTS, you may as well just shut it down.
50% less on a plane, you can't keep flying with those numbers,
so you just have to tell people try and protect yourself the best
you can and some times you have to take some risk.
We don't want it that way, but people can't just starve to death
or start living on the streets.
7.5 billion or 70 million you can't expect everything to be consistent.

Perfect example of the stupidity of government. To think a small group of people would be able to guess the nber of eggs needed rather than allowing the free market to run its course.
Now there million chickens will be killed. What a waste
Stupid comment. The article explained very clearly why.
I doubt the excess chickens will be just wasted, there are good markets for poultry.
Have you ever thought the poultry farmers might like an agency that looks out
for their market and informs when supply or demand is more or less than
an individual farmer might know, so will be able to adjust to market
conditions and have large losses.

thailand has an 'egg board' ? talk about bloated government !
Yes there is an egg board, most developed countries has one or something equivalent.
When you are dealing with 40 million eggs a day, it make good sense to some control
board to watch for over supply and undersupply.
And know if the farmers are receiving a good price for their produce.
As a way to deal with excess or surplus, better than having farmers have to throw away
millions of eggs a day.
Even though we are not poor, the local village head man had delivered to us and
all families 2 kilos of rice and 20 eggs just this past weekend.
Everything that happens in Thailand is not stupid or wasteful.
Of course foreigners who hang out here often can't see beyond their hate
for the country they choose live in.
That boggles my mind, why live somewhere that you hate the people and
everything they do.
On the other hand there are some who just hate as second nature and
even have a grudge against their own D*ck.

This is only part of the equation though. Wearing a mask will not prevent him from picking up the virus from a contaminated surface. If he is infected wearing a mask will not prevent him touching surfaces and contaminating others.

Well I am just hoping you get a good dose of it and then you can tell us how
to go about not spreading it.

I was an EMT-Paramedic on the Shreveport fire Dept.
Later EMS supervisor, my uniform got me in many places
usually on a wing of the stage and back stage.
We always provided EMS for concerts, we had the Ambulances.
So I saw a lot. Some were not something I would have paid for.
Best.. Tina Turner, she could turn on an audience.
Saw The Who long ago.
George Jones, Merrill Haggard, The Silver Fox Charlie Rich
Motly Crew when the drummer's cage flipped upside down.
ZZ Top , wow!
Joan Jett and the black hearts, she looked like a wet rat
when she came off stage. I stood guard on the restroom door
for her while she had a shower.
Poison
Rat
so many metal bands I can't remember.
Naomi Judd and her daughter.
Loretta Lynn
MC Hammer
Grew up with the The Uniques rock band based in Louisiana, with Joe Stampley
"Not Too Long Ago" and "All These Things"
Louisiana Mafia had string of clubs in Bossier City, called The Strip
right near the Texas line . Had all the usual mafia stuff going on.
They could get just a ton of acts in for their clubs back in the '50s
and '60s. Back when groups traveled the the circuit, basically for
day money. Lots of '60s and '70's groups played the clubs.
Most of the clubs were burned out for insurance money in the
late '70s.
And Shreveport La had the Louisiana Hayride that rivaled Nashville
for being home to country singers in the '50s and '60s .
Where Elvis got his start, along with many others.

Now seeing the picture, I remember meeting this man once.
I was in "down town" Prachin to get my rice and chicken lunch,
had parked in the parking facing the river.
He was walking near by so I stopped to talk few minutes.
He talked about being an english teacher and a few other
things. Seemed to be a very nice fellow.
He was a small man, looked about 5'8" and relatively thin.
Not a man you would expect to go looking for trouble.
Really sorry he was killed , such disrespect for him.
Over all I have not had a bit of trouble living here in
Prachinburi . I live here because my wife has a good job
she wants to keep working at for the seeable future.
I have found Thai people here to very helpful to a guy
who has a hard time learning the Thai language.
My memory is not a strong point for me and my hearing
is not so good, so mangle Thai language just awful.
Again sorry this happened to him, I hope, but doubt the
person who did it will be punished.

You know, here is the thing, in most of the world, this same thing happens.
If you come from a country were it doesn't or does not happen often,
well good. You can be a little shocked.
You are at best a visitor here, understand what that means.
Here, as in most of the world, you want to have as few encounters
with police as is possible.
You will want to have as few encounters with government as is possible.
Learn what is allowed, what is tolerated, and how to avoid becoming
a target for police.
To do these things it is advisable to treat Thai people with at least
minimal respect and try and make a few Thai friends who can help
in this endeavor to avoid police and government.
You are ignorant, as a visitor, to tease the cops as to how far you can push a
situation.
I understand you think the baht you spend here is what keeps
the government going and therefore you deserve something, you don't.
You are also ignorant if you Thailand will change to fit your notions, they won't.
So base your stay here on those 2 facts and decide if it is worth it.
For me, at this time, it is worth the effort to follow laws
and customs the best I can.

I'd be changing your aircon gas company, there is simply no excuse for gas leaking other than poor workmanship; plain incompetence or maybe intentional... stop and think about it, understand it is a closed loop system... there is no rational reason for gas to leak, period...
Well, I do have a gas leak. I bought a 18000 btu Samsung from Homepro, I never thought it was
cooling as good as it should. At about 18 months, with really little use I had a part time AC guy check
it and it was low on gas, he added some. The next year I had a real full time AC check it again.
This is a living room unit and not used a lot.
Any way, he said it quite low on gas but showed me
where outside unit was leaking through tiny holes, and said he would not add gas to leaking
unit. The problem is this unit has aluminum coils on the condenser and he said he had seen this
often before. You could see oil stains on the coils even after I had washed it.
The moral of the story is , don't let salesmen sell you an AC with aluminum coils, no matter
how much they say it is improved and works just as good as copper.
I do know a little about mechanical systems and do a good of maintaining my things.
But this was just 30,000 baht down a rabbit hole. Homepro said 6 months on the unit
is the max they any responsibility, even if it is a manufacturing defect.
Copper good, aluminum BAD.
Samsung Bad.

It does not matter whether they are locals, tourists or expats. Selfish and recalcitrant trash like these are all over the world, not just in Thailand. Idiots like these make it more difficult for the rest of us who are trying to comply, cooperate and get rid of the pandemic soonest possible. No excuses should be entertained, no sympathies should be given. The authorities should just throw the book at them.
Agree for sure.. I have been in Thailand for 7 years. I am a very grateful guest of the
Thai people. I try very hard to treat all citizens of Thailand with respect.
I try to keep my interactions with police, Government, and military to a minim.
I try to interact with as many everyday Thai people as I can, with out being
a bother to them.
I love being here, as long as the hoops I must jump through to stay are manageable
I will do just that to keep my home and family.
Could I go nuts over things I think could be made better, sure, but why?
I am a guest and I will remember that and try to be the guest that is welcome.
I am not thrilled by the foreigners I come across here, some, especially visitors
I would care less if the police rounded 90% of them up and gave them
3 days to get out. I get sick of seeing them treat Thai people like they are
servants or worse.
Thai people are what Thai people are, but this is their homeland, and I respect that.

Yes I could leave here. I could leave a place where I really don't understand the language,
where my wife and her family seem to think I have unlimited money,
where it is just hot as hell,
where drivers tailgate and never look before turning.
Yes there are 100s of reasons I could leave.
But I stay, I like the life I have here so much, it just suits me to a "T".
But more important than that, if you read this forum and you realize the commenters
are just few foreigners who inhabit Thailand and where you come from you have
millions of people with same mind set, staying here is the best option.
What are they?
Pig headed, stubborn, always confrontational, know-it-all,
never willing to accept anything Thailand,
Thailand's government says or does, and never willing to give Thai people any respect,
you realize these are same people you left the USA to get away from.
They are like people on perpetual vacation, away from home and now really showing
their butt. No need to put litter in it's place, no need respect anyone, no need to respect
customs, no need to try and fit in, tomorrow we leave and fly home.
Only they don't, they hang and show Thai people just how uncivilized where they
come from is.
Sorry, but there are so many more of you back in the USA, spouting the same
garbage over and over, I hope I never need to return there.
I want my ashes spread here, where I am happy.
In the mean time I try to ignore you the best I can.

No evidence of masks being effective at stopping the spread of any diseases.
An appalling abuse of power if this is put into effect.
Well, you are damned wrong. People can shed virus while simply talking. ,, The idea now goes like this, you can be shed virus days before you realize you are sick. If you don't wear a mask you could be shedding virus everywhere you go. If you do wear a mask there is a good chance the virus you would be shedding while talking or coughing will be caught in your mask. ,,,
No this does not mean you aren't sick or getting sick, it means you care about other people you could be infecting before you even know you are sick.
And NO, it does not mean someone else can't infect you while you wear it.
Wearing is for other people now, staying home protects you.
Why the hell do people throw their back out of joint over every suggestion on how to keep people from getting or spreading this
virus.
Try for once in your life to just go along.
Try for once in your life to not be the "know-it-all", who really doesn't.
You have other options , stay home, leave and go back where you came from, go live some where by yourself, out of sight of other people.
Granted you may not care if you live or die, but a lot of other people aren't ready to load up on that bus just yet.

Do you know any that were not born with a silver spoon ? I assure you there are a few guys on this forum who fit that description ????
I was born 5th of 7 and used an outdoor toilet until I by hand dug the hole for
tank and field lines. Stated full time work at 17. I have gone a week with no money
for food, finding what ever cans I could.
I have invested all but pocket change in a business and worked with out pay to see
it succeed.
I do live off my own contributions to my well being, I have insurance I pay for because
I don't care to be a ward of the state. I have paid my debts, my credit is clear, I have
no one demanding anything of me. I use and pay for lawyers and tax professionals
for their services.
I have no envy of anyones life, I am happy with my own.
I like , even love, to see people succeed and have the life they enjoy. I have
relatives whose fortunes vastly exceed mine and I am aware of the good things
they do with some of their money. I enjoy knowing they are part of my family,
even though they were raised as the middle class generation and me and my siblings
were not.

I met a Thai lady of good moral character we got married.
Bought the house and the whole yards.
Take care of the family.
Thailand makes it harder and harder to live here
I don't want to return to the USA, but my stay

I want to start over with less of a load.
Straight up I am a simple guy, with simple needs,
a roof over my head , air-conditioning , and soft

I am in fair health, that is in decline,

That is ok with me, I just somewhere to

I about 3500 US Dollars a month to live on of
