  1. Hi All
got an appointment for AZ vaccination next week, but can't log back into check if my appointment is still there or if its been changed/delayed due to shortages. On the website it just says "sorry temporarily closed" and that all vaccine spots are full. Im not trying to book a new slot, just see if my existing one is still confirmed. Anyone had a similar issue? Or should I just ignore this and go down on designated day and hope it works out? Ive not got an email or anything but just want to be sure
wondering since ive booked my appointment its been affected or delayed due to a lack of AZ!
    Thanks!
  2. Can anyone recommend a good beachside hotel? Looking for somewhere with a nice view right by the sea and a good balcony to relax and have a few drinks seeing as bars are closed. That is the main criteria, any recommendations? Dont matter where the hotel actually is, just that there is a good sea view. Budget around 2000 a night. Any recommendations? Thanks!

  3. Now restaurants have opened up hoping to ravel down to Pattaya this weekend from Bangkok.

Will be driving by private transport and staying in a hotel, but anyone know if there are any restrictions or requirements? Doesn't seem like anything but just wanted to check before getting potentially turned around!

  4. Looking to get an engine/sump guard fitted to my CB500X to protect it when riding off-road.
Been quoted 4700 BHT for a SRC guard, which seems a lot of money for what is just a piece of metal. Anyone seen any cheaper alternates on Lazada? Or has anyone got one fabricated? Cant imagine its too difficult for a decent welder to knock up.
Or am I better off saving hassle and just getting the branded one fitted?

    Cheers!

  5. Yes did TM47 on Monday, but it doesn't actually state my address on the piece of paper. I seem to recall years ago it actually had it written, or does that not matter and its all digital?

Somewhat concerned my condo lease just has my GFs name on it, not mine, but I guess if its good enough for the TM47 its good enough for residence certificate right?

Opening hours 9-5pm with a lunch break 12-1pm right?

    Cheers!

  6. I was planning on going tomorrow. However I dont have a TM47 yet.

To clarify I need a Tm47 for my residence certificate right, I cant get residence certificate with just TM30?

Just spoke with HR at my work, I arrived in October but when I renewed my Visa in January, and should have done 90 day report and got my TM47 there was 90 day report amnesty, this means I didn't get my TM47 then. I will be doing my next (or first proper) 90 day report later this month, so should get TM47 then. This means I will have to wait till after the 90 day report and I get my TM47, only then can I get residence certificate, and then eventually driving license.

Seems bizarre I have to wait so long to get all the documents I need!

Just hope I dont get pulled over by police in the meantime.

  7. Hi all

Looking to get a residence certificate to get a car license, and my new work permit doesn't list my address.

I have seen info it is no longer at Chang Wattana but in a new location? Is this confirmed? So much outdated information online, hard to know what is correct.

The rental contract doesn't have my name on it, just the GFs, but I have confirmed TM30 receipt, is this okay? We also have a copy of the owners lease of the building,

This is the information I need correct?

    1. your passport
    2. copy of your passport’s photo page
    3. copy of your visa (if applicable)
    4. copy of your TM6 Departure Card
    5. copy of your Receipt of Address Notification
    6. copy of your lease/house book with your name and address
    7. two passport-size photos

Is a police visit to your home required or just document submission?

    Thanks!

n Jomtien there are several shops where they do Tec Cont, take care of taxes, etc. Take motorcycle in the morning, check while you are there, get temp paper and within a few days everything sorted. Cost for Motorcy if not late on Tax payment: 860Thb all included. Car 1650Thb.

So I need to do this before doing to DLT? I cant go to DLT with expired tax?
So I would go to shop in Jomtiem, and they help with taxes? Then after that I go to DLT to change ownership?
Do you know the names of such shops?

  9. ust bought a used bike. Got all the documents and everything needed to transfer the ownership, but the tax has expired. As far as I’m aware I need to get an MOT or bike safety check (not sure on the exact terminology) from the DLR before I can get the tax updated and then after I’ve got the tax updated I can transfer ownership, is this correct? Do I need to make a reservation for any of these things or can I just turn up? Is this all done at DLT or is the safety check done somewhere else?
    thanks!

  10. Hi

Im currently in ASQ, a member of staff bought an AIS simcard for me from a shop and gave it unused. Ive since used it to register for Line, data etc. Ive downloaded the app and im wondering, can I just keep using this SIM card forever? or does the fact it wasn't bought under my ID mean I cant? On the AIS app there is no other persons name registered, so can I go ahead and use the app to change to monthly contract? Im worried that someone else ID was used to buy it, means I cant or will have some trouble down the line, but now ive registered line, whatsapp under this number I want to keep the number. I dont know the ID or name of staff member who bought the SIM card either.

    Thanks

  11. Okay understand, here it says suspended until further notice https://www.dlt.go.th/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3470:in-case-of-foreigner&catid=131:2011-09-08-02-09-23&Itemid=88

I guess the fact that its impossible to get a license won't stop the BiB handing out fines! Ive ridden in the provinces for years without license but recently moved to Bangkok and things seem to be a lot stricter and grown tired of dodging fines etc. Just want no hassle.

Any suggestions what to do? Want to be legit but they dont make it easy!

  12. Hi all

Looking to get a Thai bike license.  I have a full UK car listen, but not bike license. Im looking to get a license here in Bangkok. Ive heard a real mix of information, from people saying I can just convert my UK to Thai, to people saying I need to do a 2 day theory and practical test? Or is it you can convert a UK car to car but not car to bike?

Ive also heard there is a slight change of procedure due to COVID, anyone heard about that?

Ive previously never ridden with a bike license but getting tired of hassled and fined so want to be fully legit, and think it might be easier to get a big big liscence when they eventually come out if I already have a normal one!

    Any info/advice would be great.

    Thanks

  13. Hi

Used to live in Thailand for almost 3 years on tourists visas. I left earlier last year to a neighboring country as I couldn't get any more tourist visas to live in Thailand and it was becoming too strict. Thing is I need to visit the embassy in Bangkok every 3/6 months to get a new visa. Will I have any issues flying into Bangkok due to previous long time spent in Thailand? I can show my long term visa from the other country, work documents and consular appointment letter and say I need to only stay for a few days etc, but worried they will think im trying to move back to Thailand and refuse me entry thus jeopardising my visa in new country.

    Any advice?

  14. Hi, traveling to Sathorn in Bangkok to meet some friends, staying in a cheap hotel with no gym but want a workout. Ive looked at fitness first and virgin fitness but they all seem monthly memberships only. Other gyms like Samyangym are 500 a day which seems expensive for a one off workout. Any recommendations, ideally around 2/300 baht.

    Thanks
