it is shamful, democracy ?
time for our governments to call out this shame, but they won't because if they do ........
I have morals and standards - Corrupt thailand doesn't come close
It is so corrupt because most of the countries have dictators at the helm......the curse of humanity and will lead to catastrophe, as we're already seeing with russia.

36 minutes ago, spidermike007 said:Hooray to the Burmese people, may they bring utter misery to the junta, and the thieves that are controlling Burma, stealing their treasure, and inflicting misery on their people.
They are total pigs. The Burmese army is a den of thieves, drug dealers, gem smugglers, human traffickers, serial killers, vote stealers and despot thugs. Billionaires raping the public. General Min Aung Hlaing is the top pig. He says the military will hold an election and hand over power to the winning party. Right. Can't handle the loss, you loser?
“Action must be taken according to the law with effective steps against offences which disturb, prevent and destroy the state’s stability, public safety and the rule of law,” said a statement read by an announcer on state-run MRTV. Total nonsense. They are making up this crap as they go.
The generals previously justified their takeover on the grounds of election fraud, promising to hold new elections. Now, they lost by huge margins. The people said enough. "Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have been protesting about the coup and Min Aung Hlaing’s response astoundingly seemed to blame the democratically elected government of not being appropriately committed to democracy as one cause for the coup,” Lee said. Funny man. Desperate and weak too.
“He then suggested that the economic environment for investment would be good under the military. Well, if you call billionaire generals good for the economy, well it is at least good for a few hundred idiotic, and ridiculously corrupt and morally bankrupt generals, anyway.
When the Burmese army says they are uninterested in politics, that is total BS. They are power hungry thugs. Utter pigs and despots. The pussy, billionaire generals are thieves, robbing the people of their gems, their timber, their minerals and selling heroin for the sake of amassing wealth. And supported by extremist Buddhist monks against the minorities. Broken men. With their recent overthrow, they have self revoked the right to consume oxygen. May the Myanmar youth prevail! May the dinosaurs be pushed out. A pox on their families. A terrorist army.
And shame on the morally bankrupt officials and Thai military, for granting that foul, horrific, toxic, obnoxious military, permission to fly over Thai airspace to rescue their ill-gotten billions.
Great post.
You could almost replace....... "The Burmese army is a den of thieves, drug dealers, gem smugglers, human traffickers, serial killers, vote stealers and despot thugs. Billionaires raping the public. General Min Aung Hlaing is the top pig. He says the military will hold an election and hand over power to the winning party. Right. Can't handle the loss, you loser?".........with 'The Thai army' in your paragraph......pretty much the same description of the heathens.

As long as the Thai population are aware that while the current status quo continues, Thailand will slide even further behind the rest of the democratic world than it already is.
The world is changing at an ever increasing pace.
Those who don't educate their populations well, will slide further and further into the mess they already find themselves in.
A legacy of dictatorships.
The people in charge of a country that are responsible for retarding a populations education deliberately, should have their miserable lives unequivocally ended.....period.

This professor of economics sums things up nicely......read all of his articles from 14th December onwards.
Not looking good for Thailand....but good for our exchange rates.....let's see what happens in May.

This will only change when the police start acting like police.
This will mean a change in the entire countrywide system of governance.
This will only happen if the old corrupt political system changes.
Therefore, there will be many more years of people dying needlessly unfortunately.

I sincerely hope that all involved in the corrupt shenanigans that denied the result the people voted for, die of cancer in 2024.

The main flaw is that Thais grow up thinking corruption is the norm.
They learn it from birth onwards and know no different.
It's the awful human failures from the top of society that have cast this mould.
It will be many years before society as a whole will see this as 'not normal'.

Oh well, I guess we can all watch the death rate skyrocket in the coming months.
They won't even learn from other countries experiences......I have no words for their jaw dropping stupidity.
The only conclusion to this, is it's obvious they are in very deep financial poop.
I will be moving my money to banks abroad come Monday.
Som nom na.

Nail on the head sir.....You would need to change the culture, as Thai's over the years have come to accept that lying is part of life.
A legacy of the military monkeys that dictate and keep the masses frightened to say the truth........a very sad, sorry and subdued nation of people.

This would also drive up the cost of all manufactured goods significantly, make many goods unaffordable, and lead to massive inflation.
I would gladly pay more for goods.
Putting your eggs in one basket, is, and always has been, a massive error.
The world has made a huge error.....time to put it right, whatever the cost.

You've hit the nail on the head without realising.........How do you find where these new cases are located????
Starts with 't' and ends with 'g' .......and rhymes with resting.
-
I don't read thai, but I'll hazard a guess that there are approximately 2000 cases.

LOL, so go to sime up country village and do mass testing and you will find thousands of cases? You are insane. There is NO comparison between a crowded village and an issan village. Ask members in local villages here if they are seeing hundreds of cases of covid.
Easy solution to this......test and you'll know the answer.....very very simple.

Let me give you a hint: the authorities test in areas where walk-in cases of Covid present at hospitals in large numbers.
The authorities need to be testing hundreds of thousands/millions to get a handle on this

Not that many cases in the provinces after Songkran.
How do you know when they don't perform mass testing?
-
"doesn't change the fact that daily testing for everyone would be necessary - better to put more effort into vaccination......."
it would be better to put more effort into both testing and vaccination.
But I think it's beyond their capabilities sadly.

You would have to provide some data to support your assertion.
If you live in a province, do you think their reported numbers are wrong?
Yes.......I know of a few who are riding it out

I agree, it's a human failing sadly.
The only caveat being, in a country without dictators, you can call out the corruption and not be 'silenced' to live another day......Big difference.
