I don't recall exactly when I met my future wife, but I think it was the start of Khao Phansa, July 1977.  She was in the market in Loei selling clothing with her sister.  Soon hired her to do my laundry as it wouldn't dry in the rainy season if I did it.  We married Oct 7, 1978, so perhaps 15 months.  It was then or never as my Peace Corps tour ended in March 1979. (We did hang around for another year or so as I got a job interviewing Lao and Khmer refugees for resettlement in the U.S.)

She didn't speak English at the time, though she knew a few words.  We got along fine just as friends.  Now after 42 years, her English is way better than my Thai.  And she's a worth adversary.  :cheesy:

Oh, she was never married and we were young.  I was 25, she was a couple years younger. Lovely couple.  Then and now:

such a sweet story.  best wishes . Thanks for sharing .

Get a new one at least if you are fine with burning such money. Half your age or not, you are being used.
She most likely bones other guys too, on your money. If you are not the hammer someone else is my friend, wake up.

I did many girls in my first years in Bangkok, single, who had sponsors like you. Not saying that to show off, just saying it is not just stories, it happens.
No need to keep those for a long term at such high cost, just get another one. Great time as it is a buyers market as said by others already.

You are her job. Nothing else.

Rightly said -   YOU ARE HER JOB, NOTHING ELSE

  4. I think this is a big difference between thai lady and filipina lady .  In thai villages they weighs love with how much money and gold the man give .  so you just have to think this kind of  thai lady  as a glory hole and make sure you use it as much as you can so you can throw it sooner and move on to a different glory hole.  Trust me there is no shortage of it ..

To show that his administration has been fast and effective in its response to the new coronavirus, President Donald Trump claimed that anybody who wants to get tested for the respiratory disease caused by the virus can do so.

"Anybody that wants a test can get a test. That’s what the bottom line is," Trump told reporters March 6 during a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

Moments later, Trump added that anybody that needs a test gets one.

I am pretty sure within a matter of few weeks/months anyone who wants a test can get a test. just look at how they come to reduce the testing which takes days to hours in just few week.

The OP will not be  flying to Thailand in April.

One needs a scheduled passenger flight to accomplish that.

I expect that we will be living in a different world come the month of April.

the way it is going  I do believe as well that  it is going to be a different world -

I was planning on returning, more or less permanently around May 1.

Everything is ready insurance, visa doc prep been waiting to reserve an air ticket thankfully

I am stuck here in the US. Dire, terrible situation.

Thailand will be a better place overall to wait this out. Now wish I pulled the plug last year.

There is no way to board with these requirements, why Thailand does this instead of just announcing a ban

like other countries is strange. Must be a face-saving gesture to stay some interest group.

How did you manage to get this insurance stuff ?

My advice - cancel that trip and plan it for later in the year, if possible. The situation is utterly unpredictable, and you are coming at the worst possible time. That said, I am not sure what evidence the Thai immigration will require in terms of insurance, and you need to double check that Kaiser Permanente will cover both the travel insurance, as well as COVID insurance acquired during travel. As for the medical certificate, that will assume that you can get a proper test within your time frame. Furthermore, there is some talk that Thailand will simply shutdown all tourist entries for some period of time.

Is there a way to get a free voucher or refund  ?

I do see this option -

to get a future credit .

  10. I already have the visa and a ticket to travel to bangkok in April from usa.

with recent thai requirement  for medical certificate  / insurance   want to know how anybody in my situation are considering .

    please sharing

I have a Kaiser medical insurance -   Does Kaiser provide the medical certificate  and insurance  as required by thai government
