You can't change the mindset... but you can change the personal at city hall which is where most of the damage stems from.

Time for a change of leadership, and a huge shake-up from the top to the bottom.

But like most "brands" it takes decades to build up and a few seconds to lose it all.. Thailand not just Pattaya has lost it's brand name, exploiting everything until it's damaged beyond repair!

I hope all the owners invested wisely there's going to be some very lean times ahead for some!

NO I love them and they protect the city - Kamnan Pho's sons have done well. On a serious note the free concert at Bali Hi leading up to NYW was first class with some amazing Thai bands , brilliant sound , staging and all for free.

The stoplights at the zebra's on beachroad don't work...the bahtbuses horn nonstop, taxi's don't use meters, it stinks, coconuts hanging above the sidewalk, the wider beach has been washed away, the new Bali Hai pier is crappy, annoying watchvendors who come into restaurants, annoying ladyboys who sexually harass pedestrians, dirty sea, bad air.....need i go on?

But apart from that it's ok then ?

The theory behind the franchise is that they have proven the market, they've developed the sourcing and distribution and inventory system.  Basically, you're buying a complete system that generates cash.  If you work it, you bought a job.  If you hire someone to work it, you've bought a cash flow- contingent on some smarts on your part.

The franchisees all know that going in...

I would love to know what the average franchisee gets pa and for what investment.

Here is something odd I will share will you.

In my wife's village, I never see any birds

She told me the villagers have killed and eaten them all.

    Same with rice rats

BIL went out all night and only got 1.

Farming in some areas is not as bountiful as it use to be.

Been going on for ever with Isaan folk - be careful they don't eat you when your back's turned.

I'd like Prawit to explain to me in details the vulnerabilities of TLS 1.0 and how TLS 1.2 is better, but why it's still vulnerable. Or why WPS should not be used and how it can be cracked.

Or at least show me his Comptia Security+ certification...

    Falang you think too much.

When in Thailand your son only has Thai nationality.  Also in America, he only has American nationality. In the rest of the world he is a dual national.

I live for part of the time in VT2A , you choose well way back when - the foreigner quota has long been full but they rarely sell unless they are keenly priced in this market. You can transfer from foreign quota to Thai quota with no issues and the difference in value now without foreigners queuing up to buy won't be much I would have thought.

You must be crazy. You know how many Thai men have kids and dont pay a thing.

For that matter whole Philippines is also like that.

This week i was reading about Thai woman dumping her kid, as the real father didnt want it and also the new father didnt want it, so mom dumped her ! Maybe you can suggest that to your rented gf.

Now you want to screw a Britt?

SO she should have married him, then in Thailand you have as man the obligation for your own child.

Once a Thai woman said to me, she stayed married just for the support (Thai law?), but would divorce when another man would come forward.

Probably this story is fake, just to have an item running and see the responses

Just had a look at the OP post count - damn you are right. Happening a lot recently must be the weather or something. Won't be fooled again.

Some of these fakes are pretty good these days, with good movements, and very hard to spot AAA copies.

The guys commenting of 500baht Rolex copies are out of touch and still think it's 1998

Seems Mark was doing ok...until it all came crashing down. So don't feel sorry of him. He rolled the dice...

When did I say that? I am just stating the hard facts, that Brits have a much higher percentage of people behaving bad, overstay or engage in criminal acts in Thailand than any other foreign country´s citizens.

About my place? Ok, because you asked. It´s a whole planet of desirable fun, called Planet Matzzon.

What would be the alternative for that cabby?

Take the money and spend it alone?

Take the money and spend it with his friends?

Hide it and maybe use it later?

The person who left that money was obviously negligent. But what would she have done when she missed the million baht? There are so many cameras these days that it's likely that that cabby would be found sometime soon. And then? He would probably go to jail if he spent any of the money which she forgot.

Realistically the cabby didn't have much choice but return it.

And then receiving a "finders fee" of 1.5%. Cheap Charly or Charlini or whatever that is called for women.

I admire your would weary cynicism - he was clever enough to know he couldn't nick it. She though, should be expecting a call form the tax authorities and the requirement for another brown envelope no doubt or maybe her trip to TAT was to head them off at the pass ?

    On the other hand .....

I'm a Brit with our Thai son, and her Thai daughter ....... and moms gone (while I'm financing her daughters university education).

Parents who don't want to raise or pay for their kids isn't just limited to men, as far as I can see abandoning your kids to be raised by grandparents, or other family members is endemic in Thailand.

Are you being serious? You want to assist your "rented" girlfriend AKA hooker in extorting child support from another guy who no doubt fled because he wanted nothing to do with her? If you want to pay for her that's one thing, but trying to make another man pay for her is a whole different level.

There is a child , his child most 'hookers' are single mums struggling to look after their child(ren). If he is in receipt of income in the UK than it looks like, at a stretch and with a lot of due process she may be able to receive some income.
