Every country in the world should be reducing and eventually removing their reliance on Chinese production and supply of materials. All countries should be tougher on China and review their trade agreements that normally favour China Through the use of incredibly high import taxes on foreign imports.
The One belt, one road initiative has been sold to countries around the world, but especially those in South East Asia as China helping poorer countries through investment and infrastructure but in reality it is merely a high interest loan that pays Chinese workers to build substandard roads, Dams, railways and leaves the countries indebted to China.
Countries that have accepted Chinese investment are being destroyed, look at what they are doing to parts of Africa and the casinos in Cambodia. Thailand will soon follow

Having seen some of Prayut’s comments on boiling water and sitting in the sun to kill covid 19, etc, I’m under the impression he doesn’t have a basic grasp of science either.
Well as per my earlier post, you are commenting "he doesn’t have a basic grasp of science either" but that would very much depend on what subject his Degree was actually in.

Steve100, you gave a confused response. A 'bachelor of science degree' is the type of degree, it is not the subject you are qualified in. As an example these are some subjects that will award a Science degree:
If you want a chemistry-based degree, other options include:
- applied chemistry
- biochemistry
- pharmacology
- environmental science
- forensic science.
If you want a biology-based degree, other options include:
- zoology
- marine biology
- genetics
- microbiology
- biomedical science.
If you want a physics-based degree, other options include:
- astrophysics
- geophysics
- chemical physics
- mathematical physics
- theoretical physics.

Yea, I can't find any examples of him being able to speak English either.
It's not a good look for him, is it?
I'm sorry but I don't see the relevance between him being PM, having a 'bachelor of science degree' and speaking English. He's the PM of Thailand so whether he can speak english or not is largely irrelevant. In fact I would probably say he would get more browny points from China for not speaking English.
Could Trump or Boris speak Thai, Mandarin or Russian?
I'm no fan of Prayut and think he should have gone long ago, but I'm not going to hate on him for not speaking English.

Our Khun Prayut studied in Class 12 of the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School before moving on to Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Class 23.
A former commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 21st Infantry Regiment, he has also held the posts of commander of the 21st Infantry Regiment, commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, and commander of the First Army Area. He was later promoted to Army chief-of-staff then deputy Army chief, eventually assuming the top post of Army commander-in-chief.
Khun Prayut is the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order
Our Khun Prayut Chan O Cha became the prime minister and NCPO chief in August 2014.
He has a "bachelor of science degree" but what is the subject is the degree?
Having a Degree is no sign of intelligence especially in South East Asia where a brown envelope will get you a PHD, driving licence, planning permission, murder charges dropped. It's meaningless.

Looks like August is definitely off then, better get on to the Airline and see if it's another set of future travel vouchers, or whatever. ???? ????
Anyone think it will be viable in ~December, for our next scheduled trip? ????
I feel your pain, In January I booked 3 weeks for September not realising that China would allow flights to continue, spreading the virus to the rest of the world. I have been hoping that by some miracle a vaccine would be ready or Thailand would allow tourism but it now looks impossible.
Will give it until next month but it would seem that voucher/refunds on flights and hotels is my only option

Well, maybe the rest of the world should treat their populations as China does; weld them inside apartment buildings, re-education camps, send the family an invoice for the bullet, etc., etc.
Perhaps it would increase the pesky obedience thing.....
Don't forget the (up to) life time in prison for holding "Hong Kong Independence" signs or singing anti China songs or comparing Xi Jinping to Winnie the Poo

They haven’t said that China is included. It has to be reciprocal, and has to agreed to by all other countries in the bubble.
So I really doubt China will be included.
Singapore, Japan, HK, Korea, and EU are more likely.
Are you a betting man?
99% China or at the minimum provinces of China will be allowed.

It seems like perfectly common sense to allow China back first. The country that arguably created Coronavirus, then tried to cover it up for two months and told the WHO it had no human to human transmission.
China's production and output is nearly back to normal and they are the only country forecast to have economic growth this year, while the rest of the world has been thrusted into recession.
Why would Thailand invite them back first? Wouldn't possibly be because China are by far Thailands biggest investor

Far more likely to be an alcohol user. Sorry to attack your drug of choice steven.
I thought exactly the same thing. Be disappointed to look like that naturally let alone on PEDs

At some of the hospitals here I would be surprised if it DIDN"T!
Yes it very much depends on the hospital. A highend private hospital in a City will be very expensive but still nowhere near a million baht, let alone 3m. "Normal" hospitals would be no more than 4 to 10k a day.

Not only that, Thai medical is Suppose to be a lot cheaper then the West.
Why is it that the premiums are at a Rip off High.
Why doesn't the Thai Government set up an affordable premium Insurance for Expats an Long stay people.
Things could be so easy ,But No Just a Rip off Scam by the Big Insurance Companies.
It's a joke, 3 million Baht cover!
Even if you were unlucky enough to be diagnosed with Covid19 while in Thailand which is unlikely given the testing it would require at the very most (on average) a 3 week stay in hospital. I would be surprised if that would come to 200,000 baht.

Complete silliness. Why would anyone in their right mind welcome ANY Chinese back. The virus came from China along with the Asian flu, Hong Kong flu, SAARS, Bird Flu, Swine flu...should I go on?
Over 100 countries in the world have condemned the CCP (China) for lying about the Wuhan Coronavirus and the leaders of Thailand accept the lies from the CCP about their control of said virus? Of course, Thailand knows more than over 100 combined countries. There have been over 3 million cases in China. The only reason that Thailand is allowing the Chinese back is serious support within the corrupt government of Thailand for the country to become a vassal state of China. Lots of money must be changing hands somewhere. This is the result of what the country gets when it is led by a general who led a coup against the elected government, said that he had no interest in becoming the country's leader, promised a return civilian control within 6 months, moved to change the constitution to pack the government with unelected military officers, prevented open campaigning against him, banned opposition political parties and is STILL IN POWER YEARS AFTER LEADING THE COUP???? Democracy? That is a Western concept and not an Asian one.
Again, There must be big money changing hands somewhere.
God save Thailand.

You must have some special understanding of English language if you read that as racist
Pretty much everything "Expat Tom" said is true/factual with the exception of Swine Flu which originated in US and the 3m cases of Covid in China as no one knows the true numbers due tot he CCP coverup.

Still amazed at how many believe this Covid-19 BS
It's just a bloody common seasonal flu blown way out proportion to facilitate a world economic reset.
Wake up sheeple.
I'm amazed at how many people buy into these conspiracy theories. It's not seasonal flu, completely different type of virus.
Seasonal Flu mortality rate 0.1%
Covid 19 mortality rate ranges from anywhere from 0.5% to 14% depending on region affected.
Some healthy people who have recovered from Covid have been left with life changing conditions such as renal failure, diabetes and lung damage!
I would say that the media have blown it out of proportion and done a lot of scaremongering but like wise individuals claiming it is seasonal flu are living in cloud-cuckoo-and. The President of Brazil had this same attitude and now look at massive issues they are having there, and many say they are under reporting.

Don't know about your evidence but I can tell you that it'll get rid of my migraines and can make me sleep with out the use of processed chemicals and thats good enough for me.
Every person I know who regularly smokes acts erratically and several have ended up in mental health wards as a result of cannabis. As I said before "it provides therapeutic relieve for some conditions" that does not make it a cure.

before applauding let's be consistent, alcohol makes people aggressive and kills thousands of people every year and it is allowed, cannabis heals and makes people less aggressive and it is prohibited. the police do their job and obey orders but maybe some retrograde law should be reviewed by our elites, as is currently done in many countries
Cannabis causes serious mental health issues and makes people behave erratically. It may not have killed people but it can certainly be implicated in suicides. To claim that it heals is utter nonsense and there is zero medical evidence to support this, the most that can be claimed is that it provides therapeutic relieve for some conditions such as MS.

In my experience people on this forum seem to react far stronger to crimes committed by Thais or non white foreigners then to for instance Brits. Just as you see in the post on this topic. Not that many post. I bet if it had been a Thai there would be far more post.
I don't really care about where someone comes from for me action is what matters not origins. The reason i bring it up is explained in the previous paragraph.
But your right it should not matter.
robblok,
You make me laugh, you being the first person to take every opportunity you can to bash the UK, Brits and on rare occasions the US especially in their handling on the CCP virus.
I agree the country of origin should be mentioned but lets face it, there's a lot of bad foreigners living in Thailand, be they from the UK, Russia, Australia or China, there was a story a couple of days ago about 224 Chinese nationals running illegal gambling in the Myanmar town Myawaddy, and just yesterday about 4 Chinese running a loan shark business worth 100m baht.
I wish Thailand didn't accept bribes and gave every foreign criminal long jail terms and permanent bans from entering Thailand.

The UK stat is the same as that of Brazil. There is an error on the Map.
I’d guess that the UK stat is missing and mistakenly replaced with Brazil’s stat.
I don't think so, as of yesterday Brazil had done 2.4 million tests, 11,436 per million people. The Uk has done 7.9 million tests or 116,241 per million people. the data in the map is well and truly out of date

Just watching a Thailand vlogger where he visit a Thai market:
A lot of propaganda peddled by certain individuals on TVF is debunked. thermometers that are used to measure your temperature upon entry to shops etc are cheap Chinese rubbish that is not calibrated and give wildly different temperatures. Only about 10% of Thai's in this video are wearing masks and virtually none are wearing gloves even though they are handling and preparing fresh food, they are handling cash, scratching their heads/touching their face.
This must be the better control and measures that robblok and Yinn are always talking about 5555

You are kidding, if that's the case why has virtually every country bordering Thailand had less cases and deaths, by your logic it must be because their governments/leaders did an amazing job.
Face facts that SE Asia, including Thailand have been very lucky. The infection rate and mortality rate is very low in most of Asia for reasons that are as yet unknown.

How low can a human being go down to?
What are you talking about: "Now that the world is slowly recovering"?

China rebukes UK for its "gross interference" over Hong Kong

How do Britain act like they wrote 'one country, two systems' idea?
It's irrelevant who came up with the idea, what is relevant is the fact that the UK signed an agreement with China to hand back Hong Kong in 1997 and that the people of HK would have protection for their freedoms and way of life under the "one country, two systems" policy until 2047.
