  1. In a notorious Australian case Hackshaw v Shaw a farmer lay in wait at night to foil petrol thieves. One night a young man and his girl friend showed up to steal petrol from the farmer’s tank. The farmer shot at car and severely injured the girl who was sitting in the car. The High Court held that the farmer was negligent since it was reasonably foreseeable someone was sitting in the car. The principle of the castle does not apply in Australia. A householder who uses violence against an intruder will be judged against the standard of the reasonableness of the force used by the householder. This as it should be.
  2. One supposes that the reasons for the ultimatum about vaccination of teachers is the protection of students and their families from an infected teacher and the protection of said teacher from being infected by their students. It seems that many of the commentators above are engaged in a danse macabre with their infection and the infection of their students and their families. When I was a teacher it was a fundamental ethical principle that you acted in the best interests of the students. It seems that these teachers are not heeding this principle.
  3. In Chiang Mai we opened accounts for Non O at Bangkok Bank Changklan Road.
  4. Administrators ban the mysogonist racists who left their vile bile on this thread. I was warned about using a school boy derogatory term on this forum, yet you permit this filth without flinching.
  5. I think you miss the point. It is the current ban on the sale of alcohol at Raan aahan that needs to be reviewed. There are sound reasons (even if an exercise in futility) for limited times to purchase grog at supermarkets etc.
  6. Flooding is caused by accumulation of water due to unnatural diversion of natural water flow. Bad hydro engineering requires radical solutions. Levy banks and artificial structures to divert water away from habitated areas. I think this is a question of ฿ and perseverance.
  7. Papillon in your dreams mate. There is not one revolutionary bone in Aussies, just in the CMEU.
  8. The moral is such hold over agreements should be documented as a contract. In a contract for the sale of land vacant possession is what the buyer bargains for. Hand shake agreements are worthless.
  9. I think Thailand is quite puritanical about booze and the types of behaviours that go with it like sleazy bars that used to be on Bangla Road.
  10. Everyone knows high end tourists are soaks. Not like the former barflies of Chiang Mai.
  11. This is hysterical talk. The science is out on boosters in one year.
  12. This about 10 ฿. What a furphy. 10 ฿ is 1|5 of nothing. Both driver and ferang need their testosterone levels lowered, preferably by castration.
  13. Oh my if there has been a more idiotic thread please wake me up"
  14. Yes death numbers are better stats than positive tests. Why death is final. Tests are a. 50/50 roll of the dice.
  15. It certainly is the interlocutor’s business. One needs to know who to avoid.
  16. Oh the confusion among the muddle headed wombats about geopolitical matters. It is not about ideology (ie democracy or Communism), it is about economic spheres of influence. That’s right money.
  17. Apple TV gen 4 links to multiple streaming services. Many of which are not available in Thailand. I access Apple TV’s own channels, Netflix, Prime. It is also useful to stream stuff from Apple I pad apps such as Australian ABC Iview. But I cannot stream SBS On Demand because I can’t install a VPN to the router. I also find British streaming services impossible to access. I think it is far more than a set top box, if you have other Apple tech.
