  1. Double? Do you get a discount? Recently in Khao Yai they tried to charge me ten times the price for a Thai to enter the forest!!!!!
  2. Thank you Rooster for the first 300 installments. I have only been here full time since November 2016 but I do enjoy your weekly reflections. 26 December 2004 my first wife & I were lucky enough to be on the backs of elephants in the foothills of Phuket when the first wave arrived. Had we been poolside as we were the day before then it would have been a totally different story, our beachside hotel was badly damaged. I look forward to reading many more of your weekly columns.
  3. OH!!! I hadn't heard that Covid had got good old Jethro. As you say one of the funniest comedians the UK had. Only one of late the could make laugh uncontrollably at his little stories. RIP Jethro, thanks for the many laughs.
  4. Yes in Australia they don't generally tip unless the meal/service in particularly good. Here in Thailand my Thai wife insists upon tipping everyone from the food delivery person to the staff at a restaurant to the house maid in a hotel, etc.

  7. Yes, we are currently having a pool built (in Pattaya) by a reliable Builder that we have known for some years. The pool is 8M x 4M x 1.4M deep, he is providing everything except for the tiles to the waterfall wall & some lights all for 460,000 Baht.
  8. Yes, I have 8 friends in Australia who normally come for 3 weeks twice a year to play golf but they have said that until it is easier to enter the Kingdom & restrictions are lifted they are staying home!
  9. UK is not included as English is its first language. Neither were Australia, New Zealand, USA, etc.
  10. Sorry I'm new at this I hope your daughter will fully recover from whatever it is that has taken her to hospital
  11. Talking about not paying, we had a bad experience paying the annual premium to the broker who arranged the original policy , as we had fit a number of years. The problem this year was the broker didn't forward the money to the insurance company!! my wife kept asking for a receipt & then rang the company which high lighted the fraud by the broker!
