Tragic School Incident: Senior Student Fatally Stabs Junior in Cafeteria Altercation
In a deeply unsettling incident at a school in Mae Ai, Chiang Mai, an alarming confrontation unfolded between a senior high school student in the third year (M.3) and a junior student in the second year (M.2). The senior student, overwhelmed by stress and agitation, confronted the younger student, who was peacefully dining with friends in the school cafeteria, and ruthlessly assaulted them with a fatal knife attack, reported Daily News. On June 20th, the Mae Ai police station received a distressing report of a lethal confrontation that had taken place at a school in Mae Sao, Mae Ai district, Chiang Mai. The incident took place in close proximity to the school cafeteria, where the lifeless body of a presumed 14-year-old student from M.2 was found. The victim had sustained multiple knife wounds to the head. Nearby, law enforcement apprehended a presumed 16-year-old M.3 student, who was found clutching a knife stained with blood. The student was promptly taken into custody for further questioning. Preliminary inquiries unveiled a long-standing conflict between the two students, characterized by frequent altercations and intense physical clashes, totaling ten incidents since the semester began. The deceased student had consistently faced overpowering attacks, leading the M.3 student to subject them to ridicule and further physical assault. The relentless harassment and humiliation inflicted upon the M.2 student caused immense frustration and stress, ultimately culminating in the tragic incident witnessed within the cafeteria. Following initial interrogations, the authorities have formally charged the M.3 student with intentional murder and detained them while awaiting legal proceedings at the Mae Ai police station. ASEAN NOW remarks that the original text mentioned the student being attacked with a knife, not an axe. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-06-21 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Chonburi Man’s Six-day Solo Bird-Watching Sparks Search Operation
Chonburi — A 46-year-old Thai man, who went solo bird-watching up in the mountains in Chonburi without telling anyone, turned out to be safe and not lost after a search operation was launched for him for over three days. On June 17th, Ms. Sudawal Dokbuacw, 42, tearfully requested assistance from authorities to help locate her older brother, Mr. Maneethaweevan Dokbuaw, 46, also known as ‘Uncle Muek.’ According to Sudawal, Uncle Muek went missing from his residence on June 14th, located in the Takhian Tia sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. He was last seen as he left the house with a long gun and bird trapping equipment. His motorbike was found in the bamboo forest near the Song Phi Nong and Wai mountains, approximately 13 kilometers away from his residence. Sudawal feared that her brother might become lost in the jungle as he did not come home at his regular hour. However, during the twilight hours of June 19th as the officials were starting to make their way back, leaving only the staff responsible for collecting belongings, something unexpected happened. Suddenly, Uncle Muek, the man who everybody was looking for, appeared descending from the mountaintop perfectly healthy. He approached the authorities’ vehicle and knocked on the window, surprising everyone. They were taken aback because the person knocking on the window was none other than the individual they had been intensely searching for over the course of three days. They then asked for his name, and he confirmed his identity. Thai man swindles 3 million baht from Singaporean businessman
A Thai man willingly turned himself in at Nimit Mai Police Station after orchestrating a scam that defrauded a Singaporean businessman of 3 million baht. The scam involved enticing the victim to invest in the man’s business in exchange for a long-stay visa in Thailand. Toward the end of last year, the Singaporean’s Thai wife and a local lawyer complained to the 57 year old scammer, identified as Somthop, at Nimit Mai Police Station. The woman explained that Somthop had deceived her 50 year old husband, Pete, by offering to assist him in obtaining a long-stay visa for Thailand, knowing Pete’s desire for an extended stay in the country due to his frequent business travels between Thailand and Singapore. Somthop presented himself as a fellow businessman capable of leveraging his own business to facilitate Pete’s visa. He manipulated Pete into believing that investing in his business was necessary to fulfil the visa requirements. Assuring Pete that the money would be returned once the visa was acquired, Somthop managed to dupe him. Initially, Pete transferred 1 million baht to Somthop’s bank account. However, Somthop later claimed that this amount was insufficient to meet the legal conditions for the partnership, pressuring Pete to transfer an additional 2 million baht. by Petch Petpailin Photo via Facebook/ ทั่วไทยนิวส์ Full story: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-man-swindles-3-million-baht-from-singaporean-businessman -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-06-21 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. by Nattapong Westwood Royal Thau Police arrested a 27 year old woman in Nonthaburi province for her involvement in a fraudulent airline ticket scam. The arrest followed a warrant issued on April 19 for charges related to identity theft, conspiracy to defraud the public, and spreading false computer data. The case began when a victim discovered a Facebook page named Annemarie Amsden, advertising job opportunities as an airline ticket agent. The victim expressed interest in the job and was instructed to invest 500 baht for booking three flight tickets. After transferring the amount to an account belonging to Suphawadee Sangkhoy, the suspect deceived the victim into transferring more money several times by claiming insufficient funds and system issues. In total, the victim transferred 75,358 baht before realising it was a scam and filing a complaint, KhaoSod reported. A ray of hope for Aussie mum in a coma after life-threatening tumble in Thailand (video)
The husband of an Aussie mum of three left in a coma after an accidental fall in Thailand announced that there has been an improvement to his wife’s condition but added she is still in a critical condition. Kylee Enwright has been in a coma for more than three weeks following a fall that caused her to hit her head in Khao Lak, southern Thailand. The 48 year old mother from Singleton, New South Wales, lost consciousness and suffered head and ear bleeding due to the incident. The Aussie mum had stepped off a wooden deck and unexpectedly plunged about a metre to the ground below. This seemingly innocuous misstep led to a severe head injury, necessitating emergency brain surgery to remove a portion of her skull. After the accident, she was swiftly transported to a nearby medical centre, where her wounds were stitched, and she was intubated for assistance with breathing. Following this, Enwright was admitted to a larger hospital in Phuket, where she underwent brain surgery for six hours. Subsequently, she was placed in an induced coma for medical purposes. by Bob Scott Pictures courtesy of GoFundMe/Facebook Full story: https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/expats/a-ray-of-hope-for-aussie-mum-in-a-coma-after-life-threatening-tumble-in-thailand-video -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-06-21 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. A shocking turn of events left a 39 year old woman from Kamphaeng Phet province with a staggering debt of 4 million baht (US$115,107) without possession of a vehicle she attempted to purchase. Nam Aoy Aiemviboon had agreed to pay 67,892 baht (US$1,954) per month over 60 installments for a second-hand Hino S700 truck and a trailer, but she never received the promised vehicle, leaving her to deal with mounting debt. Nam Aoy’s ordeal began when she visited a company in Nakhon Ratchasima on May 9 to view and agree on purchasing the truck and trailer for 4,073,520 baht. The vehicle was expected to be handed over with all the proper adjustments on September 20, 2022, with her first monthly instalment scheduled for August 5, 2022. However, when the deadline for the delivery arrived, Nam Aoy hadn’t received her purchased vehicle and instead discovered that she was now in debt to the financing company, based in Nakhon Ratchasima, for 4 million baht. This led to debt collection letters being sent to her every month, which in turn, damaged her credit bureau score. by Nattapong Westwood Picture courtesy of PS truck2hand รถสิบล้อ รถบรรทุกมือสอง Facebook. A motorcyclist survived a 40 metre fall near Doi Khun Tan National Park. He recounted the terrifying experience of plunging in the early hours of this morning due to stopping by the roadside. At around 2am today, police and rescue teams from Hang Chat sub-district received a report of a man injured in a deep ravine beside a road near Doi Khun Tan, approximately 300 metres past a shrine along the Lampang-Chiang Mai highway. The 42 year old man, a native of the Mueang Ji sub-district in Lamphun province, was found conscious but weak and bruised. The rescue team from Wiang Tan had to coordinate with Thong Chai and Amarinthai rescue units in Lamphun for additional personnel and equipment.
