Sanook Thai Caption: She's still harassing him Sanook reported on a weird situation that two couples have got themselves in. Now it has led to a confrontation between a man and a woman wielding a Samurai sword. She wanted sex - and travelled half the length of the country to get it - but the man was not giving in. The woman with the knife is called Um, aged 40. She split up with Air, the man aged 39, who went to live with Note, 38 more than a year ago. But despite Um getting a new man she and her boyfriend have continued to stalk Air and Note. Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe They were so worried they left a Nonthaburi address and fled to Petchabun. However in the latest video Um turned up and wanted sex again. Air said no and the Samurai sword came out. Note called her "nuts" and was not sure what they would do after temporarily moving out again. She thinks she will go to the police but has not filed a report yet. Only gone on social media so far. Lamphun/ Thailand - More than 25,000 Thai farmers who grow garlic in Thailand are demanding to stop importing it from China, whose garlic is considerably cheaper due to lower production costs. The China-Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed in June 2003 allowed China to import their garlic to Thailand with 0% tax. Growers in Thailand are concerned about the China-Laos railway network, fearing it does not lead the Thai economy to have a balance of trade deficit. Local officials have also raised concerns that the railway will hurt Thailand's agricultural economy and the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe The garlic community enterprise in Ban Hong, a district of Lamphun Province, in northern Thailand, accelerate the promotion of organic garlic cultivation which meets more demands in the Chinese markets. Local garlic grower, Pathipong Nupalao, complained that the Chinese garlic flooded Thai markets and that will make buyers delay their order. Head of Community enterprises Chana Chaichana said Thai Local growers have to bear the cost in their garlic production process while in China, the garlic plantation and trade are huge as they grow them in an extensive area. A greengrocer urged for stopping importing Chinese garlic since a kilogram of it is priced at about 80 baht, considerably lower than Thai prices which stood at 100 baht. -- © Copyright A24 News Agency 2022-04-07 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Bar owners are finding it hard to recruit Thai girls by Michael Bridge file photo Now that there seems that Omicron although very contagious, is not so life-threatening as previous viruses the regulations are slowly being relaxed and tourists are starting to return in small numbers. file photo by Michael Bridge Now that there seems that Omicron although very contagious, is not so life-threatening as previous viruses the regulations are slowly being relaxed and tourists are starting to return in small numbers. In Pattaya which has perhaps had the toughest restrictions the entertainment industry has had two years of closures, limited trading hours, and hardly any income. During this time, the local Town Hall decided it was a suitable time to rip up most of the city’s roads to lay new drainage systems and fiber optic cables. Even the infamous Walking Street was basically dug up for at least 12 months. Now at last clubs, bars, discos, and go-go bars are starting to trade again. Speak to one go go bar owner who had just spent the downtime refurbishing their bar, I asked if the customers were coming back and spending. He said they had had a busy first week however although they had a great lineup of girls, they were still looking to recruit more. Apparently when many girls had returned during a previous lull in Covid regulations last year, had rented rooms and paid deposits only to find everything was forced to close again. Keep up to date with all things Thailand - Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe Many lost deposits and went back to their family homes and farms in the North. Some of the smarter girls are now creating online blogs and videos with large followings in the thousands. They can make more money in 24 hours through men taking paid for subscriptions than they could make dancing in a go-go bar for a month. Others have now had to find regular work in factories and retail outlets or are helping their families on the farm. So, trying to recruit girls to take a job with now guaranteed income down in Pattaya when the sex tourists are thin on the ground has lost its appeal. Now that Europeans, Russians, Japanese and Korean tourists are not coming to Thailand, the TAT is encouraging Arabs and Indians to fill the gaps. However, as you may know, many Thai girls do not want to go with Indian men for several reasons. Therefore, as more go-go bars reopen, there will be a scramble to find beautiful girls who want to try to make a living in Pattaya’s nightlife. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-04-07 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m.
