In its Facebook post, the centre cited COVID-19 tests, conducted at state and private hospitals in Bangkok and its surroundings between January 3rd and 16th, showing the Omicron variant representing 97.1% of all infections and Delta 2.8%. The only exception is in prisons, where 100% are Delta. The centre said the the temporary period of infection by two variants, Delta and Omicron, is nearing its end. The "kluay nam wa" tree that was leaning into a water canal had been tied up to stop it falling. Bananas were growing out of the trunk, something that Sanong said he'd never seen before. Superstitious locals had tied auspicious cloth to the tree, put out "nam daeng" (holy Fanta....) and were busy praying. They were convinced that the 9 combs and 85 bananas were the key numbers in today's lottery draw. Khaodin police arrived on the Nong Kwang to Nong Khreum road to find a ten wheel Isuzu truck on its side and its cargo of cut sugar cane all over the place. 77khaoded had a picture - apparently of the truck driver - making a phone call amid the devastation. Nearby was a smashed up Toyota Tiger pick-up and a destroyed Honda wave bike in separate locations. Picture: 77kaoded Two 21 year old men named Suthorn and Adirut had already been taken to hospital with injuries. Dead at the scene were a 19 year old man called Phupha and a 19 year old woman called Chutikan. Picture: 77kaoded All the victims were locals; the deceased had been with friends on motorcycles. Korawit, 26, the driver of the truck appeared to be drunk. He said he was taking his sugar cane to a factory in Kanchanaburi and didn't see the people parked by the side of the road.   15. Picture: Siam Rath Bang Na police in the Bangkok suburbs and forensic teams rushed to Soi Jasote 9 after a shooting. They found Sathit Taeng-orn, 45, who had been shot four times in the back and once each in the abdomen and leg with a 9 mm gun. Eight shots were fired in total by the shooter called Thanadech Siriraksatham, 47, who fled the scene. Both the victim's Yamaha bike and the assailant's Honda motorcycle were found parked at the scene. A resident said that the shooter had frantically tried to start his motorcycle 4-5 times without success. He had then hailed a passing "win" (motorcycle taxi) and got on the back with a woman pointing the gun at the driver. A 62 year old win told Siam Rath that he took the pair to some Navy flats at the end of the soi and then they boarded another motorcycle taxi. He wasn't aware of any gun and thought they were drugs' people fleeing police. Another witness said the trouble was over the woman who had arrived at a block of flats on a motorcycle taxi followed by the victim then the assailant. Investigations continue. Being checked were places known in Thai as "sathan borikan" - a euphemism that generally indicates places where prostitution occurs. Also checked were pubs and bars that along with the "sathan borikan" have applied to open as restaurants so they can serve alcohol. INN reported that fines in place are 6,000, 12,000 and 20,000 baht with closure orders if establishments continue to disobey the rules.   19. Picture: Daily News Daily News reported on the case of a man in a yellow Honda who wound down his window while driving past Phrapradaeng police station and fired many shots in the air. It happened late on Friday night. Police armed with arrest and search warrants issued by the Thonburi court later arrested Thannithi, 29, as he drove into his house in a well known estate. He initially claimed he's used a cap gun, this then changed to a BB gun and was finally determined to be a "blank gun" that only has noise. The suspect - who was charged with multiple weapons' violations - is an executive director of a well known transport company. A search of his property revealed a large number of handguns and rifles guns like .22 and .38 used on ranges. The suspect said that on the night in question he'd been drinking with friends and got over excited. He admitted to being drunk and stressed out. He was taken into custody. He coperated with police and despite claims in the media that he is "a person of influence" he didn't make any assertions in that regard. He admitted to firing a .38 and a BB gun in two separate locations. There are ATK testing sites at both ends of the street in Banglamphu. You need to test negative to get in. Police and local officials are doing three rounds of checks. At 6 pm they check the registers of businesses to make sure staff have had their ATK tests every few days.
