The main sticking point for me personally would be that the optimal time to negotiate reduced rent would have been when the contract was signed which was four months ago. If you were even a year in it would not set alarm bells ringing.
If they are so disorganised that they cannot budget for at least a year in advance, taking into account potential problems such as a third wave, etc, well, you have to ask how long will it be if you reduce rent before another problem arises.
Ask yourself how old this couple are - are they inexperienced at things like this? And how is that your problem? What you will do if another problem arises just another four months down the road?
Personally? I would tell them no, come back to you next January if still an issue, as one year is an acceptable time to be broaching the subject, and be prepared to get the keys to your man cave back, worst case scenario.

What is the last day of your Covid extension?
If it's Saturday 1st May, the next day Immigration will be open is Wednesday 5th May.
There is no overstay fine if Immigration offices are closed on the due date.
You still have time to apply for a new Covid extension this week.
The last day is in fact May 4th.
So if I go in May 5th, there is no fine, and the Visa extension if for 60 days from May 5th, not May 4th?
Are you sure immigration is closed on May 4th?

Hi,
If the last day of my covid extension is a Saturday when immigration is closed, would I be charged overstay for going in the following Monday to get a further extension?

Nok Air not working for me either. I gave up on flying with them after they cancelled my flight and point blank refused to refund me.

Never going to happen in time for tomorrow. It's the night of the 30th and people have travelled all over for NYE celebration. Should have announced this sooner if they wanted it obeyed for tomorrow.

Hi all,
Been coming to the islands for years, but have a bad memory for details. There is usually a fortnight of spotty weather / rain in Jan/Feb and hoping someone could remind me exactly when?

Keep a close eye on it (n pun intended). You should also take a pen or sharpie and outline the red area so that you can easily see if it increases in size.
If it improves with the medication you are OK (but be sure to take the full course of antibiotics), if not you may need IV antibiotics.
Any sign that it is getting worse, you should go at once to hospital (which might mean a trip to KP or Samui...I am not sure of the capacity at what passes for govt hospItal on Koh Tao). This is where having outlined the margins of redness in ink is very helpful - If the area of redness increases then it is getting worse.
Might be rocking an eye patch this Christmas. lol

It would not be just conjunctivits as the entire area around the eye is red and swollen.
Either he has an orbital cellulitis (serious) or an allergic reaction, possibly to a bite he was unaware of.
The two can co-exist, i.e. a bite can cause both an allergic response and a cellulitis.
OP - you can first try antihistamine as recommended by pharmacist but unless there is very quick improvement (i.e. within a few hours) you need to go to hospital and will likely need IV antibiotics. (If you want to avoid admission can ask about coming in daily for it, usually possible if they select an antibiotic with just once a day dosing).
If it does NOT improve today after taking antihistamine, or if it gets worse then do not delay trip to the hospital. Do nto leave it till tomorrow unless you see clear improvment after taking the antihistamine.
Thanks all.
Cheryl, went to dictor/clinic. He had a look and found some infection inside the top of my right eye. Then held it open, scraped it out, and put some cream before covering it up as per the photo below.
Gave me eye drops and two lots of pills to take. Told me take the cover off tonight before bed and come back tomorrow if not better.
What do you think?

See photo. Felt like there was an itch night before last, couldn't help rubbing my right eye. Woke like this yesterday. Gave it 24 hours but it is still puffy and right one more swollen than left.
Chemist tried to give me Clarityn. Anyone have any idea what it might be? I am here in Thailand? I'm on Koh Tao.

I went to immigration and got a 60 day extension because of Covid. Just looked in my passport and it says under consideration until the 26th Nov! They didn't tell me I had to go back to get another damn stamp.
Anyone know what will happen when I do go back?

I lost a ticket too, $600. I have written it off and gotten on with life.
Will never book with them again though - they were <deleted> towards the end anyway. Old, sour service staff.
And with cost cutting going on there, maintenance of aircraft is propably suffering - no thanks.

@jojothai it has not been sent yet. If sent as documents would that make things easier, do you think?

Thank you.
Is this way more likely to dodge duty fees?

Its been said many times DONT use a courier if it can be avoided.
So send how? If not by courier?

Hi all.
My family are sending me a package via DHL to Koh Tao. it is mostly mail, but there are a few small items - toiletries, an iphone, and some headphones.
Does anyone have any experience of what will happen next? Will I have to declare anything? Before being sent or after it arrives?
And will they ask for some sort of Duty payment?

Would the 5th be counted re: overstay?

Amnesty ended 31st October. I am going to immigration on 5th to renew.

This thread perfectly captures that preachy ex-pat miserable old <deleted> vibe. It should be preserved, and put in a museum. As should the ex-pats.

Thanks @ubonjoe and they cost 1900 Baht?
-
Sorry to butt in - I was under the impression that tourists can now apply for a 60 day extension, without an Embassy letter, and this would start after October 31st. Does that sound right or not?

You can't see it, but right now I have a middle finger raised to all the horrible jealous petty posters who couldn't wait to preach to people holding out for another amnesty. How do you like your apples? hahahaha

Our Thai tenants have just asked for a rent reduction
in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Posted
I mean, they had the first two months free. Now, two months into paying the agreed monthly payment, they are asking for it to be reduced.
Does that not strike anyone else as, you know, completely unreasonable? Two months free (so effectively four months at half price) and now asking for the rest of the rent payments at a reduced rate?
Nah. Would be something if it was even six months in. Sounds like a con job.
