Another news agency (a national normally reliable one) reported 42m ago that Prayut has announced a raft of measures that will be put to the Thai Cabinet tomorrow including closure of schools, banning of gatherings above 50 and postponement of the Songkran holiday.
Hope so, the village nearest to me is getting ready for a 3 day fund raiser for the temple. You know, the big pi$$ ups with ultra loud music. Ideal for virus transmission. Bet it goes ahead, told the mrs she ain't going.

Is Black Canyon coffee now regarded as an entertainment venue?
Married, with kids, a visit to Makro is an entertainment venue ????

You can’t limit MAKRO or Big C to 5 people.
Yes you can. Let them in 5 at a time & give them 5 minutes to reach checkout. Supermarket dash ????

Do a land border bounce. Out & back in again in a few minutes. At the moment, no problems. Flying complicates things.

Stocked up on beer today. All is good ????

Why risking getting caught and deported? Playing by the rules is much better.
It's not an excuse to be on overstay now and it could get much worse.
Indeed! Could end up in immigration detention centre. Not advisable any time, let alone with this virus!

Kudos to the governor for having the balls to do something, rather than wait for central govt to stop their endless thinking about acting.

I'm wondering if I should change my return flight to Chiang Mai (current ticket is to return on March 31) to stay another month here in Krabi (where AQI has been 20 to 50, averages less than 30). Is there any data from the past that predicts when AQI in Chiang Mai will drop below 100?
Last year it was end of May. Depends when prolonged rains arrive.

Yep, look on the bright side. Cleared the air, a bit. Hopefully, the storm was a bit more intense elsewhere in the valley. Chiang Mai thanks you for your sacrifice ????

I strongly suggest that all farangs begin wearing a mask at all times while you are out to show support for the Thai people as they deal with the pandemic.
no matter how you feel about the effectiveness wear the mask to show you are concerned and doing your part not to spread the virus.
Very easy to do in Chiang Mai, thanks to the homegrown air pollution

My daughter is due to arrive next Sunday by Qatar Airlines. Birmingham-
Doha- CNX, I have told her that Thailand has now added UK to list of
countries that must self isolate,we were not going anywhere,so thats
not problem, it also says she must have Health Certificate before they
will let her on the Plane, have no idea how long it would take to get one.*
So I have left it up to her whether she should come or not,7 days if she
decides not to come is short time to get her money returned for tickets.
maybe the best thing would be if Qatar cancelled the flight.
regards Worgeordie * just hearing how long it takes to get an appointment
over there even if you are ill.in normal times, now !
Not Qatar, but Emirates are being flexible & offering free flight changes. Not sure about cancellations. Check their webpage for updates.

Not really. 255 km to the border. Stick to 90 to 100 where road is good, Good bypass to west of Chiang Rai, Traffic was light.

Out of interest how long did it take CM to CR. How long were the roadworks too?
Cheers
Roadworks are between Doi Saket & road 1252 turnoff. Then between border with Chiang Rai & the hot springs.
CM to Mae Sai took 3 hours 40 minutes
