TOT is not a popular option! I haven't beeen able to check hotmail or yahoo for two weeks plus it's so unreliable that I need to go to dial up half the time!!

I do think the Soi has a bright future but like many areas in Pattaya it is right now suffering from lack of people.

The rooms that are available are good quality and affordable. There is a decent mixture of go go's, beer bars and theme bars. Decent restraunts are close by.

If Soi 7 and 8 ever shut down (as a lot of people are speculating) than I believe that there will be more traffic in the area.

Tread very lightly here Mulph, although Dave welcomed you to "The real forum" you'll find that any type of "unsponsored advertising" is quickly deleted/locked and that the "Pattaya section" is frequented by people who are far more better than all of us and want to deny the fact that Pattaya's main fuel is girls and booze!

BTW, I love Soi LK Metro

Even if it is a wind up it's still a funny subject. the truth is all these girls from Buriam will first put a "love or money curse" on you, when that doesn't work they go back to the witch doctor and put an "evil" cursre on you.

If the first one didn't work than why would the second one?

I've never been to Buriam, I wonder how many falang financed houses are up there compared to chiapoon?

Those Buriam girls scare the crap out of me! I would say thay the drink caused you to crash, which unfortunately means that your future punishment is still coming!

Soi LK Metro has a lot of nice places for that price range. Try the Rockhouse, Metro apartments or the Jasmin Mansion (Soi Baukow just north of Soi LK Metro)

I'm in the Threpprasit/Suk area and still having the same problems. Could not access hotmail and a few other sites, switched to dial up and had no problems.

Definitely seems to be a TOT problem.

Ive bumped this for one reason...............

Went down Al's tonight ordered double chicken and chips............parked the bike diagonally opposite in soi xzyte the taxi guys next to Al's chirped up saying i parked no good so i gave one of them the key to park it next to Al's..........................

Lo and behold i go to get on the bike after waiting for the chicken to cook and the key doesnt fit the ignition or the lock on the bike..............

God knows if it will be there tommorow when i go back with the spare!

(should add the key i got back off taxi guy...........a couple of taxi guys tried it and it wouldnt fit amazingly enough................Al if you dont believe me ask your staff.)

Chicken still good though.

Did you miss the recent thread on a guy getting stabbed over a parking issue with taxi drivers? So the little buggers "chirped up" and told you that you "parked no good" so ya tell em to park it themselves.

It won't belong before somebody posts on this thread something to the effect of "Somebody please remind why I stopped going to Pattaya..."

I used to smirk when I read those posts but I'm not smirking too much any more. There is no question that crime is getting out of control in this town. Some people will argue that Pattaya is a big city and it's normal to have crime but I disagree. Pattaya is not that large, I'm from chicago, that's a big city!

Petty crime is rampant, my buddy was pickpocketed for 6000 Baht last night on walking street and snatch and grab crimes happen daily.

The most recent followup I recall was the french/ algerian ATM thieves being released!

A few Issan superstitions:

1) No cutting finger or toe nails at night

2) At night You can sweep the house but can not put the refuse in the bin

3) If you sneeze someone is talking about you

4) If you butt spoons while eating some one will stop by unexpectedly

5) If you spill/ knock over a plate of rice something bad will happen that day (Stay off the bike!)

I have limited experience with this but I can tell you that my girl is from Chaiyapoon and has a very real fear of Khmer girls. I have seen it with my own eyes. A friend was having trouble with his girl (Buriam) and we all knew that she was in the wrong but she called my girl for something and I witnessed some very serious butt kissing going on. She really feared a "Spell" being put on her!

The same girl had been hiding statues in my buddys room which my girl said were "Love Spells" to drive him crazy so he would marry her and give her all his money!

The same girl recently went home and came back with wrists full of budda bracelets with two rings intertwined and is seriously pressuring this guy in to marriage.

I of course live in Pattaya where none of the rules are the same due to BG/Falang relationships but to me it's scary none the less!

I'm taking Momma to the market today, maybe I'll stop by.

To get back on subject this was a horrible incident. 2 broken legs! The person who did this is an animal!

If this is the 'Noi' Bar that I know, then there really isn't any part of the bar concealed from the rest. Must have been in public view.

Everyone blind drunk, I suppose.

I'm curious if it's Noi's Bar, soi baukow and soi honey inn. If so there is a lot missing to this story. It's a very small bar with a very nice english owner.
