Trump's ban is on those from the Schengen area. Schengen allows free movement, without passports or border checks for more than 400 million people across highly infected countries. The UK and Ireland are not in Schengen.

That said, once the number of identified cases in the UK starts to rise rapidly, I'm sure Trump will extend his ban to the UK.

He's done people a favour here.

. Only 10,000 people tested in the USA to date.

    - An infected cruise ship docking and 3000 passenger sent all over America which wasn't picked up for 2 weeks.

    - Illegal immigrant who wont come forwards or go to hospital because of deportation fears.

    - No welfare so they have to work even if they are sick.

. 44 million have no health insurance

. 38 million more with inadequate insurance

    - $1000 cost for a Coronavirus test.

    Come on..

I think I'd rather go to Wuhan. It would be safer.

  2. Use the HDMI pass through on your Sony TV with bitstream. That should solve the problem. Use a Firestick or Apple TV for the source and select the 5.1 Dolby digital output on the stick and the TV.

These 2 simple videos should help.

Check the High Speed HDMI with Ethernet cable too as poor quality ones may not work properly.

The old fella would have had better odds not being hospitalized, by hanging around an arrivals gate from Wuhan, and licking all the arrivals.

If someone started licking me at the airport after I arrived in Thailand from Wuhan (or anywhere), I guarantee the odds of being instantly hospitalized would be very high.

Thailand is far down the list on cases. I have no worries. What is the problem?

I think you are living on cloud Cuckoo.. Thailand is low on the list because its not in the interests of Tourism for the government to say otherwise. The virus is running rampant under the radar. Just because the government tells you there are only a few cases doesn't mean its true. Logic dictates that with level of foreign travel to Thailand plus the social interaction of people and families the virus is well established and at a very high level of infection. Don't believe what the government tells you.

My 2 years old niece has a dry cough. My father in law too but it seems chronic in his case.

Dry cough could be a sign of Coronavirus as this is a key symptom.

The dry cough is pretty mild in the young but a good clue is there's normally no runny nose or sore throat which a cold would give you.

You should get your father-in-law checked out as in older people the dry cough can develop into Pneumonia.

Don't trust the state when they tell you the Coronavirus infection figures. They sound too good to be true based on other countries experiences.

So,  68 million Thai's plus ex-pats and tourists,  round it to 70 million and their going to provide 1.2 million.  Not looking good is it!

I don't know. You can always ask Thamanat Prompow to help. Word is he has 200 million siting around you could use. Why not ask him? I'm sure he'd sell them to you for a few thousand Baht each.

  7. This will make everyone want to move to Thailand. The healthcare must be amazing to control a virus no other country is able too. Three cheers for the Thai government and their open and honest reporting process. Perhaps the rest of the World should follow their guidelines and the virus would disappear completely overnight. (On paper at least). I'm sure a few hundred thousand extra deaths this year could easily be put down to something else such as Athletes Foot or Verrucas.

You will require a letter from your own embassy (s)  in Thailand that shows that both of you have never married, or are widowed or divorced. This is the certificate of non impediment (Freedom to Marry) which needs to be translated into Thai. This is required in Thailand or you cannot marry. I got married last year and it was required.

You will need to take any divorce/widowed documents with you if this applies and submit the originals when you apply at your respective embassies in Thailand for the certificate of non impediment. You will probably have to make an appointment for that so please check as available appt times can be a few months in the future.

You do not need to submit any marriage related documents to your embassy if you have never married as they will check your marriage status back in your home country. This takes about 5 days for them to process.

You will then go back to the embassy where they will have your certificate ready. You will sign this in front of an embassy official and they will counter sign it and then give it the official embassy stamp. This all is done while you are there and you take it away with you.

This is so the Thai authorities are sure you are not entering a marriage bigamously.

After this and you marry will need to have the Registry entries certified as genuine by the Thai authorities. Then you will need to have both the marriage certificate and the registry entries officially confirmed as being genuine by your own embassy. To do this you will need to have them translated into your native language (sometime English is OK but check with the embassy) by a translation agency that your embassy has approved. Contact them for details on who those approved agencies are as they will be different for different countries. You cannot use any translator you feel like.

This can take up to 6 weeks after you submit the translations so be prepared to cope with the wait. The time is not taken by the Thai authorities but by the embassy as there are many so many forged marriage documents around. Your embassy will make its own checks directly with the Thai government to make sure yours are genuine and give them an official stamp and seal.

If you avoid this step, back in you own country they will not be recognized and you will have to return to Thailand to undertake this process anyway. Your marriage documents will not be officially recognized in your home country until your embassy in Thailand certifies them as genuine so you will not be able to use them in any official way in your home country without this.

I used an agent in Bangkok who is very reputable and not expensive who dealt with everything for me. PM if you want their contact info.

I just realized you will be marrying outside of Thailand. So just replace Thailand with the country you plan to marry in as the process is the same using your respective embassies in that country. My apologies.

What happened to Germany? I guess it’s just one of those things that make you go hmm.

Not really. There is very thorough screening and control in Germany which is tracing anyone who may have the virus and not be aware, hence the low death rate. Other countries are not following this stringent process so the virus is spreading under their radar and not being caught. Over the coming days you will see massive changes in the virus proliferation in those countries without these strict controls. Thailand included.
