My wife's cousin works as a doctor in the hospital. She has been instructed not to test people for Covid 19 even if they show the symptoms and to put any cause of death down as a result of Pneumonia, heart failure or similar. Anything but Covid 19. The hospital is experiencing three time the number of deaths than they would normally expect at this time of year.
If she does not comply then she will lose her job and she could face prosecution. Staff are both fearful of catching it and fearful of speaking out for fear of the repercussions.
Problem is that going forwards overseas governments will place restrictions on people travelling to countries where they are not being honest about what is really happening,
There is a big fear that a second wave will come with people returning from places like Thailand. We have seen what has happened in South Korea in a single nightclub. We are walking on thin ice here and an honest country where lockdowns have been eased will take tough measures to make sure it does not come back in from the outside.
All these lies will come back to haunt Thailand. Given the effect on peoples jobs and livelihoods, citizens from these place will most likely opt for a holiday in a country where the truth is being told and where the quarantine on return will not be required.

The biggest problem is to get your passport back. As mentioned before get some friendly police officers, make a donation to their favorite charity, take them with you and get them to pressure him to return your passport. You were not a fault so there should be no claim against you. Be firm and do not angry when you deal with him.
It wouldn't surprise me if you weren't the first person to 'accidentally' hit this other biker on one of this guys bikes. It has a strong smell of scam around it.

Flew only one time with Thai airways and would never do so again. Its like an overpriced version of Ryanair. Seats too close together, poor food and entertainment, Bad check in experience and poor customer service.
Their long haul business class seating is like others economy. But I do have time for Thai Smiles. A totally different experience. For a low cost carrier they give more than you'd expect.

Test results from the Department of Medical Sciences found that the mice developed a satisfactory level of antibodies.
Of these, 50% then went on to develop a dry cough and fever and 25% died. But the rest are fine. A very promising result indeed. Thailand as always leading the field in medical science.
Lets hope they have enough disinfectant stockpiled for the human trials. Any volunteers?☠️

Beer does not spread a virus FACT
But alcohol was behind 40% of hospital A&E cases. The ban had reduced this to 15%. This has freed up beds and medical staff for the Coronavirus fight. That's why the ban will continue for a long time.
With the Thai death figures for April 2020 running 3 times the previous year average it doesn't take rocket science to guess where these extra deaths are coming from.
Even if the government tries to sweep it under the rug and fudges the figures the rest of us should be aware that the Alcohol ban and restrictions will be here for the long term. Until the hospitals can cope the ban will remain. It has little or nothing to do with reducing socialisation but that's what the Thai government would have you believe.
Get used to living in an alcohol free Thailand.

The main reason for the ban is not simply to prevent socialising. 40% of hospital A&E cases before the ban were related to alcohol. This is now down to 15%.
Banning alcohol frees up much needed healthcare staff and beds for Coronavirus. Despite what the government says Coronavirus is ripping through Thailand. Daily death rates in April 2020 are almost 3 times the norm. In April 2013-18 it ran at 400 per day. In April 2020 its running at 1300 per day which is 900 more than they would expect. The official figures are kept low to prevent social unrest.
Expect the heavy ban to last well into the summer/autumn but it may be partially lifted for a few days to allow you to stock up. However the days of constant binge drinking are over and this will probably be the new norm going forwards.

The number of emergency A&E cases that were alcohol related have fallen from 40% to around 15% which has freed up much needed emergency medical staff and beds. This ban is likely to continue well into the summer/autumn so get used to it.
If the government didn't hide the true virus figures you would see why it is needed. Thailand is in a deep hole at the moment with CV19. You can probably tell this from the severity of the lock down against so few cases reported, the size of the mismatch.
The issuing of doctored figures is designed to prevent civil unrest. This is probably the best way for everyone's safety including yours.
So just sip on your iced tea and enjoy the rest. We should see things easing off by October hopefully.

Just contact the seller and agree to his terms. Just be careful to be factual in your reviews next time.
It would appear it did not work and the seller offered to replace or refund you.
Its not his fault if its difficult to clean. And it's probably not his fault it didn't work.
Writing a critical review when the owner of the store has offered to correct the mistake is not a good move.
It would be different if he had not offered a refund. However you have told people to avoid his store and implied he was knowingly sending out faulty goods trying to scam you.
It's absolutely defamation. Suck it up, apologize, and hope he accepts it otherwise you'll be in for a tough ride.

The government won’t see it this way
I expect the lockdown and alcohol ban to be extended until June 1st now
Most of you are missing the point of the alcohol ban. In countries similar to Thailand the number of hospital A&E cases that are linked to alcohol are normally around 40%. In similar countries where alcohol has now been banned since COVID19 it has lowered to around 15%. Banning alcohol not only reduces the risk of transmission from socialization but primarily frees up key emergency medical staff to deal with Coronavirus cases.
Expect to see the alcohol ban lasting well into July and even as long as October. Don't expect the government to lift it any time soon.
You should never believe the government figures no matter which country. Coronavirus is far more widespread than they state. In Thailand's case, no country in their right mind would enforce lockdowns and social distancing with only 3000 cases in total in their country.
Thailand reported normal flu infections to WHO for March 2020 at between 11-20% (based on testing) you would tend to think that COVID 19 is close to this or even higher given the lack of immunity.
Given the estimated actual total population COVID19 infection rate of other countries at around 15% (that is both those who have had it and those still infected) you should probably times the Thai government figures by 5000 to see a realistic picture.
If however you actually trust the government statistics then you should stick your head in a bucket and push to rename Thailand as 'Shangri La'.
As Mark Twain said, 'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics'
