  1. I'd Make a  massive fuss and get on the phone telling them to fix it in strong terms.

I got trapped in Brussels one time with a budget airline when I was on my way to Rio for a 2 week holiday. Inbound aircraft from rio to Brussels was cancelled and never left Rio so arrived in Belgium to find there was no flight and my luggage was in storage.

Pity no one told me even though they knew 14hrs before I arrived that there was no aircraft.

They Let me travel on the last flight out of the UK.  Next Rio flight by them was in 4 days.

They offered to put me up in a  hotel but the thought of 4 days in Brussels left me nauseous. There is a big difference between Rio and Brussels. One is the azzhole of the world and the other is Rio.

I kicked up a fuss and made their life a misery. Result I was out on a the Varig flight 2hrs later and upgraded to business class.

Mind you it took 10 days for my luggage to catch up with me. I was there with only the clothes I was wearing. Luckily it was flip flops, shorts and a tee-shirt. My future wife washed them every night for me so I only got to wear something else for the last 3 days.

Pity she turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Got married, lived in the UK and instead of bringing that Brazilian vibe she morphed into a typical British wife. Miserable, lazy, slobbish and uncaring. Not what I signed up for.

My advice to him. Book a couple of girls and wait it out. Keep on making a problem and they will not want the bad publicity. The loudest barking dog always gets fed first.

  2. Lesson learnt.

Don't accept a package till you have inspected the contents. If the courier  refuses then refuse the package. Keep a recording of the refusal as a video.

    Don't use COD

If Lazanda refuses to cooperate then send a legal letter in the country where they have their HQ

Always video the opening of the package with the courier present

Check the detailed feedback of the supplier and make sure they are established for a few years and have feedback that does not look too good.

Don't use Lazanda and give them and the seller negative feedback,

I had the same problem with a package from Ali Express with a broken boot zip. I filmed the whole process of opening with my mobile phone and raised the complaint within 10 minutes of receipt.

Ali express found in my favour but the problem was I had to either send the boots back at my own expense and then get only the boot costs refunded or accept 50% of the costs refunded without having to return the boots.

In my case the boots were kept with 50% back and then  I managed to fix the broken zip with help from Youtube.

If you choose to use a supplier who is not in your own country and use COD then your recourse is limited. Sometimes it's better to pay a few buck more to work with a reputable supplier.

Farangs will always be seen as scam targets so follow these rules and you will limit your exposure to this.

Regarding your first sentence, very funny, but many locations in the US still have very slow internet connections.  In my case, the client holding my disk is in the state of Maine, and said it would be impossible to transfer that much data to the cloud without encountering timesouts, and then being forced to re start the entire upload all over from scratch.

No data bandwidth in Maine? Come on.!!! Timeouts? Restart from scratch? This is 2022 not 2012.

  4. Seems a really dated stupid option. You can simply buy a hard drive and down load the data over a VPN.

The idea of posting a Hard Drive defeats the concept of modern day working.

Using snail mail to send data is like rowing a boat to travel to China.

Just create an image of the 4tb drive and then restore the image on the new drive.

Same as you would if your HD died and you needed to restore a backup image onto a fresh piece of hardware.

Dropbox will even give you a free trial so it would cost you nothing.

Last week we reported that COVID-19 infections in 44 of Thailand’s provinces, which include Bangkok, have been increasing, with an average rate of 31,148 cases a day between August 7th and 13th, according to Spokesman for the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin.

I Know. Let's try to bring in more tourists. Thailand's infection rate is only running at about a million new cases a month.

Let's waste loads more money by throwing it into the money pit of increasing tourism. Here's an idea, why not use it to help lower the infection rate figures.

Trying to increase tourism is like trying to wipe your ass when the diarrhea is still flowing. Cork up the flow first before telling the world you smell sweet again.

Yes I'm in Philippines stay 3 years on tourist visa just renew every 2months easy

There is a degree of arrogance in TAT. Thailand is no longer the go to nation for those entering God's waiting room or wanting to flirt with beautiful girls..

It's heyday came and went but yet the Thai government  act as if they are still top dog.

They continue creating hoops and hurdles then moving them around making long term or short term stay really sticky and messy.

I am not sure what they are trying to protect themselves from? Tourists and Wrinklies are their cash cows and should be given a red carpet not a bureaucratic minefield.

If they just did the same as other countries where they want tourists. Allow entry for 60 days with a stamp on arrival as you go through passport control. Then a quick renewal system that allows up to 12 months stay with restricted reentry for 3 months afterwards. After that you need to apply for a long stay visa based on income, or permanent residency if you are married to a national. Simple and easy.

Make the process simpler then people would want to stay here. Now the Philippines is the number one choice in most peoples books.

    Easy,Easy,Easy...

international flights out of China have increased by 200% over the same period last month

International arrivals by all modes of transportation totaled 1.05 million last month, up 118% from a monthly average of 482,719 arrivals from January to June

    SO MUCH SPIN!!!

Just because people arrive doesn't mean they stay. Many like me use Bangkok as a transit point.

Also people arrive by crossing the border to sell vegetables or to see family.

Easing restrictions mean more cross the border.

International arrivals in this case could include a fish seller and his family from Laos pulling a cart.

And increasing by 200% can be going from 1 flight to 3. This also doesn't tell you where these international flights are going, but by putting it in this article they are inferring by association that these flights are coming to Thailand.

It's manipulation of statistics and misinformation. You can't call it lying but it is dishonest.

At least they are using real figures to make up this fake spin rather than the fictional COVID figures of the last 2 years.

Lucky she's a 2 day heartbreaker and not a 2-10 year job with Buffalo's dropping dead on her Dads farm 2-3 times a year.

At least they left him his underpants.

I too have no sympathy for those who can't afford to have 800k in the bank and use these types of agents

Why do people think it's Ok to break the law so they can selfishly stay in somebody else's country.

It's no different from someone making a sham marriage or submitted false qualifications so they can stay in Europe or the US.

It hardly surprising this agent ran of with the money. Firstly because he is from Pattaya, and secondly because he is a criminal by the nature of his business.

For those who were genuine I am sure they will get cut a break.

But when they catch the agent he is likely to spill the beans for a lesser punishment so anyone involved in dodgy dealings may find there is no rock to crawl under this time. The feds will be coming for you.
