it will but not in the next few years.

First govs need to get rid of corona (~1 year), then govs need to recover their economies (2-3 years), so around 2024 we'll have mass tourism again.

We already spent 1 year getting rid of corona yet everywhere I look it is more prevalent than ever, more talked about than ever, more shoved down our throats than ever, lockdowns are getting stricter and stricter, curfews are becoming more and more draconian to the point we have homeless people being hunted down by police for not being inside after curfew resulting in one death as a direct result of the curfew. If you think the situation will be improving any time soon you are highly highly highly optimistic and I wish I could share the same view. Corona is obviously here as part of the new norm this is why they call it the new norm. 1 year to get rid of rona HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA right

    One month on:-

    Gold  -  $1839             - 5.3%

    Bitcoin - $36,800       + 17.3%

To be expected, not everyone understands crypto, and while I am here let me shill my crypto picks, as much as I love Bitcoin, during times like this it is the smaller alternative projects that will see the biggest ROI, this is my alt coins portfolio in case anyone is interested (do your own research of course this is not financial advice, and just remember when everything is bullish like it is now, do not fall for the hype and buy the top, do not buy the pump, just wait, a day or two and buy the dump, its inevitable, you sell the pump and you buy the dump,  easy $$$:

  3. "Hotel operators calculate the Covid-19 impact could drag on until late next year, due to the fresh outbreak in Thailand."

This is an extremely optimistic calculation, the stars and the moon would have to align for this impact to only drag on until late next year,  this can drag on for decades, 2020 was just the tip of the iceberg.

I can understand your negativity when you see walking street dissapearing is a huge loss. Truly feel sorry for you ????

If Pattaya became a 100% family destination the next 10 years, seriously anyone think that is a huge loss for the tourism here in Thailand?

Pattayas red light districts is all they got?

Walking Street changed my life, I rarely traveled before and coming across Walking Street YouTube videos is what attracted me to get onto a 36 hour flight and come to Thailand for the first time in November 2019 and for the second time in February 2020. Thanks to Walking Street I discovered and fell in love with Thai culture, Thai people, Thai food, TVF, Thai language. Thanks to Walking Street I have visited the following amazing places and had the time of my life:

Tiger Park (although it is sad to see caged animals, I got to play with baby tigers for 15 min), Floating Market, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Sanctuary of Truth,

Ramayana Water Park, Windsurfing Club & Kitesurfing School Pattaya (wind surfing has to be the hardest sport I have ever tried but I love it now!), Big Buddha Temple, Silverlake Vineyard and probably some more I forgot.

Thanks to Walking Street I learned how to drive a scooter for the first time in one of the most chaotic driving conditions I have ever experienced and I loved every second of it. Nothing feels more like living life on the edge then trying to learn how to ride a scooter on Soi Buakhao after sunset.

But most importantly, Thanks to Walking Street, I met my teerak in February, with whom I then revisited 1/2 of the above mentioned tourist attractions + Hua Hin.

For some reason the entire experience had permanent profound changes in my life, I am in the best shape in my life physically and mentally, I was able to quit drugs and owe it all to Thailand, but I don't think I would have come if it was not for those YouTube videos of Walking Street.

This is because all of the stubborn anti-vaxers. Time to line them up and put a bar-code on their heads, strip them from any free movement and go after their families unless they are willing to take the vaccine. If you are being a selfish human being, you will be met by selfish choices.

%100 with you sir!!! Anyone who is not willing to be guinea pig for a vaccine that was developed yesterday, to cure a disease that has 99% recovery rate, and any Trump supporter, their families and children should be caught put into camps of some sort and dealt with accordingly.

  6. ALERT ALERT! Covid-19 successor which is %70 TIME MORE CONTAGIOUS is already here, just in time to squash the Pfizer and Moderna efforts. Be scared everyone, better get back inside your home, close up those shops, one more round of lockdowns coming right up! We can do this! just a few more months to flatten the curve for this new strain VUI202012/01 straight out of UK. You naughty naughty Brits! Now look what you all have done:

    https://www.gisaid.org/references/gisaid-in-the-news/uk-reports-new-variant-termed-vui-20201201/

Aw Shucks we almost beat corona-19 guys, but it got the best of us and managed to mutate and we are now losing the battle, the only answer now is more lockdowns, more social distancing more masks and another round of vaccine research and development, buckle down everyone we are not out of this yet, this may be a rough 2021.

Tourism?!?! How can you all be so selfish?!?!? People are dying worldwide of this global pandemic and all you can think about is when tourism will come back?!?!? Have some heart for pete's sake! Have you not noticed what a grave and serious catastrophe we are in!

Honesty, I think tourism will be back in 6 months or sooner. With the vaccine out in most countries and the air lines going broke, the same with the hotels . We need to get things hopping again. These vaccines sound very good, so lets take them and get back in the land of the living. My arm is out and my sleeves are rolled up. Now just order some dam good vaccines.

LOL I wish I could be a optimistic as you, but with the way things are going and the message being portrayed is that even after the vaccine things will not go back to normal as per:

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/16/fauci-why-still-need-masks-social-distancing-after-covid-19-vaccine.html

The consistent message across seems to be, that the freedoms given up so quickly are not going to be given back rather easily:

    https://www.healthline.com/health-news/how-your-life-will-and-wont-change-after-getting-the-covid-19-vaccine

Also this new strain mean they have to scrap the current vaccines and start over, back to the drawing board:

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/new-faster-spreading-strain-of-covid-19-confirmed-in-britain-1.5238619

It is very likely that this may turn into a perpetual witch hunt for the boogeyman covid with new strains mutating with every new vaccine, launching us into perpetual lockdowns and curfews.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/covid-mask-use-and-social-distancing-will-likely-have-to-continue-until-next-winter-says-dr-fauci-b1774469.html

It is going to be a rather unpleasant realization for some that this maybe isn't about covid, a virus that has 99.6 recovery rate for those under 70.

One thing covid will surely help with is global warming, environment, getting rid of us pesky dirty covid ridden plane flying international travelling farangs and the great reset:

Oh and enjoy your gas guzzlers while you can:

Mass tourism -- this will forever be just a memory of how things used to be in the past, a sweet dream that some of us were fortunate enough to have experienced before all this. RIP walking street, what is the point of living anymore ????

Lots of angry and bitter posts, BUT,  when everything is back to normal (as in pre-covid days), i am certain that the Chinese, Indians, Arabs, Malays etc. whom these posters hate will all be back and welcomed. Maybe in lesser numbers, but even a tiny percentage from their billions of citizens are enough to relegate farangs to the bottom of the preferred list.

The way I observed these Chinese, Indians, Arabs and Malays get relegated to the bottom of the preferred list of Pattaya girls, I do not envy them, no matter how welcome or in how many numbers.

Gates says by summer things will be back to normal. With China, Russia, USA, lots of vaccines will be available. Probably by March travel will open up again.

This is a wet dream. In reality, this vaccine will never reach the masses as its way too expensive, and there could be more covid mutations/vriations/evolutions requiring new vaccines and if we react the same way for every bug the then there is no end to this.
