Just have a look at reports of hospital systems being overwhelmed in many parts of the US and you might change your mind. Those you know ... how about those other people know? Unless you personally know someone who has died or suffered long term then it doesn't exist?

The friend I was referring to who tested positive works at the Montreal General Hospital in Canada and he briefs me on the Covid-19 ICU at his hospital and the patients, its extremely difficult to find someone who is affected by covid or has debilitating effects after, then again me and him are in the 30-50 age group so maybe that is why neither me nor him (he works at the hospital) know anyone with debilitating effects or even know anyone who died of covid, and it has been 9 months now. Pretty sure in a real pandemic there is no such thing as 90% of the affected being asymptomatic.

Was looking at a facebook site about Thailand the other day and it was advertising Thailand tourism as business as usual.

I asked a question and was promptly told it was open and no problems. haha

TOT is trolling the internet making sure they portray all is normal.

Its so frustrating listening to friends that just google "Can I travel to Thailand" and then think they know more than me after being on TVF for 8 months researching daily.

Do you understand that Biden offered a detailed plan that included increased financial support for social security, increased financial support for Obamacare, increased support for creating alternative energy infrastructure...etc? Whereas Trump never offered a straight answer even to friendly interviewers like Hannity and Bartiromo?

Biden will raise taxes, that is bad for business. Watch the stock market react.

I hear that millions of tourists are chomping at the bit to get to Thailand to spend 14 days in a hotel room after paying through the nose for insurance so to do, its nice to get out more dont you think?

I do not know about millions, weren't there only 11 tourists on the first STV arrival?  And whatever happened to the second, third and fourth arrival of the successful wealthy tourists?

    Hi!

I haven't seen my "thai girlfriend" for a long time. We communicate via phone apps. I am in my country while she is in hers. I am waiting for regular flights to start.

I am thinking of having a child with her. It's just a thought as of now. I am in my mid thirties and she is in her late twenties. She has a child from a thai man already but she was never legally married. I guess that's how it works there seeing the huge number of single moms in that country. But things are different for foreigners I suppose.

I find it impossible to find a girl in my own country  due to various factors.

The purpose of a marriage is to have a child and that purpose can be fulfilled by a "thai /pinoy/  girlfriend". I have been involved with this girl for a few years now and I have supported her during this pandemic as well even though there was no possibility of meeting.

    I have a few questions :-

    1. Will the child be considered as illegitimate and looked down upon in the Thai society?

    2. Will the birth certificate of the child bear my name even if I am not legally married to his/her mother? Can the child have my last name?

    3. Will the child automatically have Thai nationality even though I am the father and not a permanent resident ?

    4. Will I be eligible for some kind of visa which allows me to visit Thailand whenever I want to meet my child? ( I don't want to live in Thailand)

    5. Are schools where medium of instruction is English available across Thailand? If yes then what is the yearly expense.

Thanks for starting this thread as I am in a very similar situation as you and this entire thread generated some very good discussion on this topic. I would like to talk about my situation but I don't want to hijack your post and therefore may start one myself as the situation is very similar but with a few differences.

Actually they despise France and prefer Switzerland ( Geneva to introduce minimum wage of £3,500 a month.. ), Germany, Irland where they say people aren't as racist as we French are..

it's just that we know what it's like when 2500 mosques aren't enough

    Im not surprised:

"There is a deep feeling of stigmatization on the part of the “Arabs” in France. Due to the colonial past and the dramas of decolonization (particularly the Algerian case) and the situation in the Western world which has turned against Islam after the September the 11th , the “Arabs” consider themselves as being stigmatized as “non French” by the other Frenchmen."

this is "civilization."   Tell me time in our history where there wasn't a place where people were brutally murdered.  for all we know, N. Korea, Africa, China, Siberia, etc......has much worse stuff going on this very second.

with 8 billion people or whatever and increasing, this stuff isn't going away anytime soon.  it's crazy, that's for sure, but relatively it might not be.  but it might start to get much crazier.....

I remember a time, not so long ago, when I thought about France what came to my mind was baguettes, cheese, wine and the Eiffel Tower and not beheadings.

Under the new French measures which come into force on Friday, people will be required to stay in their homes except to buy essential goods, seek medical attention, or exercise for up to one hour a day. They will be permitted to go to work if their employer deems it impossible for them to do the job from home. Schools will stay open.

What if one wanted to exercise 2 times per day one hour each session? or lets say 1 time but for 1 hour and 30 minutes? I frequently go on half-marathon runs which usually take me about 2 hours to complete. Also how does one go about beheading during these times?

  10. This is true regarding there not being much of anything out that way in Canada. I lived and worked in Halifax from 2016 to 2017, interesting thing I noticed while living outside of Montreal, Quebec was that I did not get a flu once while in Halifax Nova Scotia, as soon as I moved back to Quebec, Montreal, I was back to being sick at least once every year from flu. Halifax is just such an isolated place that barely anything ever transmits over there, no surprise at all that covid-19 is rare there.
