They should just extend it to March 26th 2021 the date it began. Jeez what do they loose from it?
They want to clean out those not paying their way. That's why Pattaya and Phuket are ghost towns.

There seems to be a lot of that, these days...
Pre-social media, you could get away with a helluva lot of ineptitude; now... It's not only farcical on an almost daily basis, but also plain for everyone to see.
We get that they're going to be swamped, but if you can only process 20 renewals an hour and 5,000 people need to renew, and there's just 48-hours to go... it ain't difficult! The week before they were reported to be a ghost town. Don't blame TI, blame the last minute entitled idiots.

It's just insane hoops they make you jump through then change rules. I've been to a fair few thai offices for things and NEVER left with expected outcome despite researching beforehand.
Even visa companies never seem to have a clue. Last 1 I saw told me I was on overstay and needed to pay fine- I want home checked with passport and I was NOT on overstay. I don't know if she was trying to scam me on 8000 baht for a none existent overstay. I've had zero issue at immigration, as it was not true.
You don't have a clue. Thai immigration has always been easy to deal with, but I complete the paperwork (TM7) copy of other stuff and get a bank letter. Very easy. If you can't handle it maybe get an agent to help.

as long as the land borders are closed, they should extend this ...
OMG Run for the border. What happen if the consulates enact the same financial requirements as TI? Or, you've done this any times before and need to go to TI.

Are you trying to tell us that you were unaware that each entry only allowed you to remain for 90 days?
The ME visa method was not without risk and those of us that used the ME visa must accept that risk rather than trying to blame others. The travel restrictions manifested a risk that none of us would have contemplated, but that is life and only you can deal with it.
I was an RAF apprentice when Rhodesia declared UDI in 1964. The Rhodesian apprentices were immediately deported, passports became invalid overnight. You should be thankful the government has exercised some leniency.
Before you get on the high horse, I was on ME visa, last entry from Malaysia on 6th Feb. You really ought to reflect on where the lack of foresight lies.
You've had ample time time to put funds in a Thai bank and get them seasoned, so why didn't you do it?

the only reason they kept to 26sep was to scary man into 70.000 baht SCAM of agent + corrupted IO for FAKE / real stamp volunteer visa that NORMALLY require a WORK PERMIT
For most part the plan worked.

Do you understand the difficulty of leaving Thailand and coming back at the moment? Unless there’s yet another amnesty in October, I’ll have to leave the country, leaving my wife, who has a 5 sometimes 6 day a week job, to take care of my 5 year old son, who I usually take to and pick up from school, for at least 20 days, probably more, at immense expense, when I’ve had a perfectly legal and problem free visa up to now, and just because of the lack of foresight of the stupid authorities. Thanks for the empathy and understanding.
Sounds like you were relying non border bumps. Why didn't you change bto a Non O Marriage when you could have? That's what those thinking did.

If the Government not the IO came out and said on say the 1st of September in big headlines THERE WILL BE NO MORE AMNESSY AFTER 26SEPT. than none of this would have happen. Now give the tourist back their 1900 baht which is not yours as you can't have it both ways.
Sorry you'll have to wait at the back of the line for refunds.

You say that as though it's a good thing.
The portly chap sitting next to me at the bar last night convincingly argued that they should all be taken to the airport in shackles and put on the next available flight to anywhere.

They have to pay the overstay fine first.
Hopefully those sitting in crowded immigration halls will realise that if extended this will not end anything and its time to go home.

What they should CONSIDER is to consider offering this visa to those who are in-country. Seriously, it would streamline things considerably compared with these last minute massive queues that periodically overwhelm the immigration offices and foreigners here alike! ????
Probably better than border bumps for some.

Sure that's what the border bumping crowd wants, but I don't think it will happen. Hopefully, the government will require registration with an exit plan for all those on amnesty. Like 1) you can stay for now; 2) give us a verifiable address;3) tell us when and how you plan to leave. I'd also schedule people by last names a queue to report to any TI. Failure to report would be overstay.

Yea, they get rewarded for their incompetence, and lack of will to do it right. They are the ones that should be lead out the door first, but will likely get rewarded.

It's after 5 PM on Sept 26th. I think the final bell has rung. Those in line might or might not get served.

Everyone is 100% responsible for their own situation and the resolution of it.
Have I missed something telling in the previous 31 pages?
Yes, you offered a lot of excuses but not personal responsibility. The 31 pages are mostly NanLaew and Eindhoven.

I think most of people who would want return they could make some kind of a deal with their embassy, i am sure of that my friend was in similar situation and they actually managed to make agreement for monthly installments for airplane ticket to return home, so yes foreigner on short term visas had plenty of time to organise with their embassies returning to home country thats why in the first place embassies will not give more than 1 letter for 1 extension, everybody who want go back can go back. Excuses like i dont want go back my country because of too many covid cases and there is no flights is lame excuse for those who cannot make longterm visas, so now half of pwople here are blaming thai government for not give another amnesty just abusing the system.
I think all embassies offer travel assistance to their citizens. Normally it in the form of a loan for a plane ticket. If someone is on an overstay that person is responsible to get the overstay cleared up not the embassy. The embassy then holds the passport until the loan is repaid. If your a US citizen it's on the website.

The amnesty was for tourists unable to get flights home not anything to do with people who had or were applying for retirement Visas. It allowed delays in filing of 90 day reporting but I decided to report as normal as I realized that as soon as the amnesty ended the Immigration offices would be overwhelmed.
It also covered those doing 90 day border runs that couldn't show financials or didn't want to. Since the borders are closed this group lost their means to get visas. IMO TI is happy to get this group cleaned out and/or made legitimate.

Jomtien Immigration has been informing people the whole amnesty period to apply for annual extensions as usual, meaning not wait until the amnesty ends. How hard is that to understand?
They don't understand anything. That's why they argue about a couple of days or required paperwork. They're losers and should ask an agent to help.

As everybody can easily confirm by visiting the immigration website, the immigration bureau says that all extensions start from 27th. But you say that this is wrong? Looks like you are trying to troll.
The date is what's stamped on the passport. That's what is important. If you miss that date you'll be on an overstay.

In an effort to stop this same question being asked again, here's my take on the two main reasons that some foreigners in some locations left it till the end.
A ) The hope that the amnesty could be extended.
B ) The evidence that some Immigration offices were not honoring their own directive that any temporary post-amnesty extensions would come into effect from the day after the amnesty ended.
It is simplistic to think that the above is just an effort to stay here as long as possible. One can argue indolent youth, sloth and procrastination till the cows come home but a very real and more difficult situation prevails in most of these people's homelands. Yes, this isn't Thailand's problem per se but they still see it as a problem inasmuch that they have requested that foreign embassies do their bit to help and issue letters required by Thai immigration to support these ad-hoc extensions.
It's is basically the long, roughly 8-week 'grace' period offered by Immigration in late July that the cabinet declined to implement now being shoehorned into 7, 14 or 30 days, depending on what an immigration officer decides to issue on a case-by-case basis.
It's nothing to do with others. Some people screw up and don't get it done. They are 100% responsible.

You really should try to do it yourself, and save 14K i am sure you have better use for it,
I have never, ever used an agent,Last time took me 2 hours total from getting letter from
bank, going to IO, and walking out the door....

The system overwhelms some and they might be better off asking an agent to help. Others have no problem and can easily do it themselves. To each their own.

10.000K = 10,000 000 = ten million Thb / night ?????????
You're right. I pulled a Biden on that. Drop the K and it should be OK. My point is that paying migrant workers 10K/night to be a DJ seems a bit delusional IMO. In fact I doubt if any night clubs in Pattaya or Phuket are still open.

I think it's a little bit more complex than that; it isn't the applicant's fault in all cases and now immigration clearly is overwhelmed.
Anyway, what's the harm in allowing a few weeks more to assure due process for all? It would still end, and soon enough!
I disagree. The applicant who waits until the last days is at fault for overwhelming the immigration offices. Allowing extra time won't solve the problem, it only delays the same problem.

I do not know what is behind their push to get all these amnesty tourists out, but it has come to an 'end' now... excepting those who get Embassy letters. A few weeks more is on top of 6 month more.... and there was plenty of warning. A few weeks more.... a few weeks more..... People are not yet being dragged to the airport, an overstay fine is all they face.
The biggest problem is with those who have been in Thailand a long time and relied on border runs and yearly new visas. Most had no alternate plans and are stuck. Some have houses, cars, and family and no where to return to. I'm sorry but if they can't come up with the financials they shouldn't be in Thailand. Lack of financial also indicates to me that their contributions to Thailand are minimal. Thailand wants those who can help the economy not those just seeking a cheap lifestyle.
Some put everything in a house and/or car, but TI wants proof of money in the bank or monthly foreign transfers.
