  1. looks from the pictures that all forensic evidence was just sweeped away and removed - and I think it was disposed rather than moved to the laboratory. That way we might never know the truth about the bombings.

    The correct procedure would be to cordon off the immediate area of explosion and allow experts to gather the evidence - the whole process taking days or even weeks.

  2. no, if you don't pay the full ammount they don't make a booking, the money you paid is just a deposit towards the booking (so you don't go somewhere else to buy a ticket). Some agents would return this deposit if asked - some don't.

    the next time you go to this agency to pay the rest of the money they will check the airfare again - and if it's higher they will ask you to pay this difference.

    once the ticket is sold the airline won't surcharge you even if you book well in advance and the cost of fuel rises - they already made a profit out of you

    no, I am not knowledgable - just a common sense

  3. it's opodo not opedo.

    book asap - it's easter time (6-9.04 this year) and the airfare will only go up.

    eva, thai, british airways & quantas fly directly - around £500.

    the cheapest officially published fare for 25.03 - 25.04 for 13-14 days was £584 with BA departing 28.03 and coming back any day.

    business class is several times more expensive than economy.

  4. yes, but I talk to Thailand for an hour or two (every day) and my monthly limit on orange is only 500 minutes (business tariff) - majority of orange subscribers have only 200 minutes per month and you still need to use your free minutes locally, especially when calling the other networks in the UK.

  5. I had a hope that there would be a fast rail link (as the plan was) from the airport to the southern bus terminal where I have a house.

    The last time I have travelled by a public bus it took me 2h 20 minutes for the distance of 25km in a straith line (10 minutes to the travel centre by the shuttle bus, 40 minutes waiting for the bus to depart, 70 minutes travel + 20 minutes stacked in a traffic jam because the old Bush was in town).

    Many major airports in the world do have a rail link (London Heathrow has an underground/metro and 2 independent train services to Paddington - and there is as much walking to the station as it's to the taxi rank) as well as public buses.

    Rail always will be faster and cheaper than taxi

  6. in a sense - yes.

    that's how all dictators and all politicians should and will eventually end up.

    after saddam - bush and blair (they murdered some 600 000 + of iraquis alone - not forgetting afghans).

    thaksin as well did kill a few thousands suspected with using or dealing drugs and some 80 muslims in the deep south just in a one day massacre

  7. i went to ask few days ago, the lady in the told me the bus is running every one hour ( airport bus ) , before it was every half hour !

    the very same lady told me the last saturday that buses run hourly, but there are always several of them within an hour. Figure it out.

    I just missed one on saturday and waited 15 for the next one to depart - and I was the only passenger on the bus for the whole journey.

    coming from the airport I waited 40 minutes on the bus 556 (which was already half-full) to depart

  8. I bet it will be the common trend always, no matter what govbernment it is or who is PM.

    no matter who is in power - there will always be a lot of reasons to bash him/ them !

    quite rightly: all government and all policians do represent the ruling class and acting on it's behalf (by the apparatus of oppresion: police, army, secret services as well as by law and state administration) - to controll the working classes and quash any dissent

  9. when?

    description of one of my properties below - but I have another one in Thawi Wattana by the Khlong Liep Thawi Wattana.

    ===========

    I have to rent out my brand new holiday 5 bedroom teak wood home in Bangkok Taling Chan district.

    It's by Thanon Wongwan Rob Nok and by the Klong Bang Tal - 5 minutes drive to South Bus Terminal (towards Kanchanaburi, Cha Am, Hua Hin, Phuket, Krabi and Malaysia) on Thonburi & 15 minutes to Chao Phraya River, Khaosan Rd, the Old King's Palace & the Wat Pho. There is also a frequent bus 556 to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

    Pictures on request.

    check it out on google maps:

    lat=13.79381307 latitude

    lon=100.408499781 longitude

    Around are traditional houses with orchards, gardens, peace and clean air.

    Suit family with children and animals as the place is safe and has a terrace under the elevated on stilts house.

    Goes cheap, even short let - as I can't go on holidays to Bangkok as often as I use to go. At the moment stays there my daughter with her children, but she can move to my sister in law house just the next door.

    A much better option of staying in Bangkok than the town centre, with it's noise, pollution, traffic jams and crowds of tourists. In a Taling Chan home-stay you will immerse yourself in a traditional lifestyle and learn a little bit about Thai culture and customs. Walks through the fruit orchards and flower groves make a very challenging experience.

    You can feel here like living in the traditional thai willage - yet 5 minutes walk is 7/11 shop, cash machine and a daily street market. A short ride there is a famous traditional thai floating market in Taling Chan by the Chakphra Canal.

    There are several nice homestays in that area - old thai teak wood houses on stilts just overlooking slowly moving canals. You are in the middle of verdant and vast, lush gardens.

    There is nothing comparable to it in the whole of Thailand - a dream student home stay or a holiday accommodation.

    The exact address to my home:

    172/9 moo 11 Kanchanapisek

    Salathammasop

    Thawi Wattana 10160

    Bangkok

    (it's on the west border of Taling Chan district with a newly formed Thawi Wattana, and a few hundred yards south of amphoe Bank Kruai, already in Nonthaburi province).

    The location is here 1:5000 - you might see larger ones if you don't recognise this area. The home is 80 meters south of the red circle on the first map - by the canal.

    If you are coming by taxi just stop immediately after the klong Bang Tal, go down over a small wooden steps to the canal and walk along the concrete path by the canal 150 metres - almost to the end of this path. If you are coming by car pass the canal and park on soi Muban Chuangchun Park Villa - you will have to walk back about 150 metres.

  10. there are 2 buses from the airport to khaosan rd:

    AE2 for 150 baht, every half an hour or so - the last from the airport is at 11pm and than 5am.

    air con bus 516 for 35 baht to the Southern Bus Terminal on Taling Chan, Thonburi - is slower. 5am - 11pm but very arratic. Suppose to be every hour.

    metered taxi should be around 400 baht - at the airport they ask twice of that.
