If you have half a mind to go on holiday to Thailand that is all you need, especially with Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia in the same area. At least those countries pretend to like you and give you value for money whereas Thais hate all falangs and rip them off openly. More fool people who are taken in by the land of smiles - there's more sincerity in a crocodile's smile.

What a stupid, uninformed and needless comment. Be careful what you wish for because the UK has helped more countries that any other in history. Financial support through foreign aid and military support to name but two, both given freely at our own expense

So the wokies and virtue signallers have reared their heads in Thailand now. A tiny minority of anally retentive morons trying to tell the rest of the world how to live. We live in a sad, sad world where sad, sad people have to virtue signal at every opportunity because it is the only way they can feel important. Wake up call, you are only important to other people like you, to 99.99% of the world you are irrelevant. Yes, it was inappropriate behaviour no matter the circumstances but get off your high horses and stop being so judgemental.

As if Thais don't kill and eat anything that fly's, swims or walks anywhere on a daily basis. Thailand is rapidly returning to the pits it crawled out of with this bunch of clowns in charge. Anyone remember the tsunami. Falangs flocked to Thailand to help the economy recover, even after prices tripled overnight, they were happy enough to welcome falangs then. But the innate nature of the Thais soon kicked in - beg for help then mug the helper. They can't help it, if you save a snake it will still bite you. Problem for Thailand is people are wishing up and spending their money in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, etc.

Teaching a Thai about 'tomorrow' is like teaching a fish to walk.

If that's all they want they're going to be coming in droves because there's nothing faster at getting horizontal than a Thai woman - although I'd say they would have competition from underage boys for this lot.

All you have to remember is that monks, police and army - almost exclusively male dominated in Thailand - do not require formal education. Remove all men from Thai society tomorrow and the country wouldn't miss a beat. It's the women who do all the work and raise the kids. I spent 5 years teaching in s e Asia and China and 80% of my students were female in both schools and universities. Statement from Thai female student in ROI Et, 'I don't need to study because I am beautiful!' Reply, 'your beauty will last another 10 years but an education will last a lifetime'. And these people wonder why they are at the bottom of the food chain.

Thailand, as a tourist destination, has been dying for years and the only thing keeping it afloat are it's horizontal women. Even the saddos who have to buy a wife in Thailand because no-one else will have them are looking elsewhere.

Nothing like getting one's priorities right in the midst of a pandemic. 'shall we buy some decent reputable vaccine that will help the Thai people during the pandemic?' 'why do that when we can build a really expensive underpass I Bangkok?' Typical Thai mentality. 'would you like this box of food that will feed your family for a month or would you like this sparkling top covered in worthless sequins?' And we all know the answer, don't we?

Eric, if you and the Chinese leadership stopped being so paranoid you would realise that your 'China haters' are figments of your own imagination. What do you think China has that the rest of the world wants so badly? Most of your country is mediaeval, you have no mineral deposits and your personal hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. You have rice and you have people and you have disease, none of which the world wants. Every class I taught in China had at least one student like you, nasty little brown nosers reporting their classmates to the authorities if they stepped over your paranoid lines by asking questions. Why not shout out to the world about how many ordinary Chinese people have had their livelihood stripped away because they disagreed with the party line as laid down by small minded, paranoid people like yourself. The whole world BELIEVES covid is a virus designed in and spread from a Chinese lab and no amount of bought and paid for WHO statements are going to change anyone's opinion. China just looks more and more stupid every time it comes up with another pathetic story to shift the blame. Bluster all you want, you will NEVER convince the rest of the world that China is not responsible for this pandemic.

Thailand as a tourist destination for westerners is dying on it's feet and will soon be a pariah country to all. People in Thailand think they are clever (although the really clever ones escape to other countries) and don't seem to understand the old adage, ' you can fool all of the people some of the time......................' The writing is on the wall for this nasty, corruption riddled country. Much like the weedy little boy in school Thailand tries to cozy up to a powerful 'friend' - like they did in 1941 when they sided with Japan while the rest of s e Asia went the other way. 90%of tourism in Thailand revolves around the willingness and speed of Thai women getting horizontal (very willing, very quick) but who wants to do that with covid still rampant. As for China calling Thais dirty, that is rich coming from a country where people urinate and defacate in the street and on public transport in public. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I was in China and, what's worse, no-one batted an eyelid. Both China and Thailand reckon their civilizations pre-date western civilization. If this is the result I prefer to stay uncivilised.

I used to like Thailand, especially Chiang Mai, but now it is just a cess pit of corruption. Throughout the 70s, 80, 90s and 00s I was a regular visitor with wife, children and, eventually, grandchildren. Now, when visiting SE Asia I avoid Thailand and Cambodia like the plague. Reason, corruption - most of which started after the west tried to help Thailand after the tsunami and they just saw us as easy, soft hearted marks. Secondly is the massive influx of Chinese and and Indian businesses and tourists with their filthy habits turning the place into a cesspit. I know that urinating, spitting and defacating in the street is normal and acceptable to these people in their countries as I have seen it all to often, but do they really have to import their filthy habits to other countries

No such thing as a 'bad' dog, only bad owners.

And this, people, is the Land of Smiles!!!
