You have made a number of errors in this post.
1) You have assumed the poster is American. He is in fact British. So he is referring to £20,000.
2) The saving is approximately 1.25% of £20,000 = £250. At current exchange rates this is around $305 US not $50.
3) The car dealer would be very happy to receive his payment by bank transfer. Cash payment would not be required to purchase the car.
The trouble is when you post up such inaccurate rubbish in such a perjorative style, it misinforms the reader and makes you look like an angry old ranter.
Please try to contribute with at least some factual accuracy and fewer insults.
Regards
Briggsy
The last pickup truck I bought I asked the dealer if he wanted cash or bank cashier's check ?
The Isuzu dealer wanted cash. The dealer met me at my bank and I paid about 6 or 7 inches of money, just about 1,000,000 Baht

The very best way I have found to transfer funds is first open a Bank of Bangkok Bank then have my U.S. Bank , Wells Fargo send funds using a ACH to send money to The New York branch of Bangkok Bank which is then deposited into my Thailand account.
Also there is a record of the transaction VERY important if someday you want to repatriate your money.

I have the same problem as it is hard to get quality wheels
Here is how I do it-----
I take a block of wood about 3 or 4 inches on all sides, I place the block about 6 inches from the gate
Then I use 2" x "4 inch piece of wood about 4 or 5 foot long to use to lift the gate
Easy peasy
First just loosen the bolts so when gate is raised you can easily take out old and put new

In Thailand most ladders are made with aluminum and will conduct the flow of electricity, If the floor is wet or damp and you touch a hot wire you can get zapped. i have a fiberglass ladder for this reason. It cost more but worth it

We also had one on my walled in land.
I was afraid it would get my cats. My wife chased it around the land and then got help from relatives who captured it and dragged it out and took it to their home and the family ate it

.,,, Sorry, but there are no laws against people smoking in their own homes, gardens or balconies in Thailand. The same in every other country I think.
3 choices really, either grim and bear it, keep your balcony door closed or move.
put a fan at your door pointed outside

These work great BUT remember, with a power outage time stops
I have been using ones that have a battery

Yes we had one find it's way onto our land near Sa Kaeo . The wife chased it around the yard. Then relatives came and carted it off , I expect they ate it.

What is the source of your Sling TV? I had a slingbox in my daughter's house in Seattle but maintenance of the box and its connection became too much. Also, I didn't care much for the DISH programming.
Google sling tv. Not the same as sling box

Sp27,
I also needed a big converter for my tablesaw which came from the US.We brought in the motor to get it rewired to 220volt but no can do we were told.
Finally i looked at the motor myself because it did say dual voltage 110/230,changed the wiring according to schedule and it works fine.
Just saying ,could the same be possible in your case? Now i have a big old converted sitting here(build in 1975) and i did not need to spend that money.
A wise man can learn from another mans mistake!
I too brought a large table saw from the USA. The directions said that it could be very simply converted from 120 V to 220 V it works just fine .
I think it was made by the Grizzly company, Chinese

I have Netflix and Slingtv I pay less than about $15.00 an month well worth it

My sister-in-law has a townhouse in Rangsit. The sois are wide and clean and the community is gate protected. You would find many, many rental units available or for sale.
I would think it would be worth a look

I would want to buy a blender with glass rather than just plastic if you ever would want to put ice cubes in it
