  1. I make this quite often

    Hot Country Style Sausage

2 1/2 lbs boneless pork butt or shoulder
    pork fat
    2 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
    2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground white or black pepper
    1 1/2 tsp marjoram
    1 tsp crushed red chile
    1/2 tsp savory
    1/2 tsp ground cayenne chile
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Cut the meat (and fat, if necessary) into chunks. Spread out on a pie
pan or cookie sheet and place in the freezer to chill (not long enough
to freeze, just long enough to become firm). Grind the meat and fat
together twice, using a coarse blade. Add the spices to the meat and
fat mixture and knead it in thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate at
least a couple of hours or overnight. The sausage can be stuffed into
prepared casings or formed into patties or appropriate bulk portions
and refrigerated for up to 3 days before use after which any remaining
    should be frozen.

Note: Original recipe calls for enough pork fat (if necessary, it
(depends upon the amount of fat in the pork) to make a 2-to-1 meat to
fat ratio. I eliminate that and substitute 1/2 cup dry white wine
    after grinding the meat.

  2. This is the recipe I use for pancakes

"Tall, fluffy pancakes are delicious served with butter and syrup or top with strawberries
and whipped cream for a real treat. "
    3/4 cup milk
    2 tablespoons white vinegar
    1 cup all -purpose flour
    2 tablespoons white sugar
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons butter, melted
    cooking spray
Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk egg and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet
ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls
of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a
spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
  3. Velveeta mixed with some Rotel tomato/chili makes a great dip for tortilla chips, but probably not experienced much outside of southwest USA. Decent sheets and towels would be a few items I'd bring back, plus a good bottle of bourbon. Most of the food items people have mentioned here I have no idea what they are, those brands must be UK or European. I'd like to bring back a few thick Angus steaks, but alas, isn't going to happen.

I too have been tempted to bring back a few U.S.D.A. grade A prime beef steaks (dry ice)

  5. id like to bring in a barbecue from barbecues galore in perth to bkk. will I have any trouble with the gas hoses or regulators. thanks.

I also brought a 3 burner gas grill from Barbecues Galore in the U.S. here I bought a tank and regulator and hose.

I connected the USA hose to the grill and then cut the hose and used a short copper tube inserted into both hoses (Thai & U.S.) a clamp on each end and has worked very well for the last 13 years.

BBQ cost $ 1200.00 back when I bought it.

  6. I live here in Thailand and have Netflix. What I did was go to https://www.unblock-us.com/vpn-setup pay $50 .00 a year I think it is or $7.95 a month

having done this your computer or TV "looks" like it is in the U.S. so when you go to join Netflix you don't get the dreaded

" Netflix hasn't come to your part of the world yet"

I pay the fee via Paypal

Last year while visiting my brother in the U.S. I could use my license to get Netflix there also

  7. The cat can get down, get a hose and spray the cat.

    It'll jump right down.

    Cats don't get stuck.

This is true, I had a cat stuck in a tree and I did spray water and she jumped down maybe 5 meters without harm

  8. I would just claim on your inventory list as a generator and not make a big deal of it. When I had my container shipped to my home I just gave my shipping agent an inventory list of my household items ( all wife's stuff ) which included all my shop equipment, lawn mower, gas BBQ and well the list went on.

My container arrived at my home in Sa Kaeo with my lock remaining unopened.

I would say just box up the generator just like all your other stuff.

  9. Where does your friend live??? Another way is to use an internet cafe. Use your computer to book and pay online, then go to an internet cafe and print out the itinerary. Even without a printout, he'll be fine once he gets to the airport. Just show his passport and credit card.

I will not be with him and I have the credit card used to pay the purchase online.

  10. I collect rainwater in 12 earthen ongs directly from the run off from my roof. For drinking purposes I actually have a pump that draws water from the last ong in line directly to a second tap in the kitchen. The pipe that draws the water from the ong doesn't go to the bottom, it only goes down 3/4 of the way so that I don't get any sediment. We drink, and have drunk, the water unfiltered for 16 years.

The extra water is used by my wife for cooking/drinking purposes in her small restaurant. She syphons, yes, sucks, it out into 5 gallon plastic comntainers and I carry it in my truck to her place. It is also used to refill the house water supply tank when the local water supply dries up. I'm in farm country and the local water supply is contaminated with chemical runoff from the fields and also is very hard!

I will drink the water from the local supplyt, but it doesn't taste too good, and we do cook with iot.

You ! are the final filter :)

  11. All of a sudden now when I try to load Netflix I I get a web page that says " Netflix has not come this part of the world yet"

Unblock US is on and I am paid up

    it was working yesterday

    anyone having this problem?

  12. I now have the health card. Recently I needed the best medical treatment and health care. I gave the thought of checking into the Sa Kaeo hospital a quick rejection and----

Went to Bangkok to the Bumrungrad hospital where I am very sure they saved my life with world class health care.

Following advice a couple of years ago, I took the damaged original hose to a machine shop, where they replaced the original hose with a much stronger, longer hydraulic hose, for about 2000 THB. The machine shop managed to reuse the original fittings as they had none of that type in stock. I've never had any trouble with the hose since.

I also had my hose repaired at a tractor machine shop and has work just fine ever since
