  1. I entered Thailand last week, and it was the first time I've ever been asked for a return flight ticket. Both the airline and immigration officer asked. I made a fake ticket and immediately regretted it after I was called over to a special immigration desk for additional questions and scrutiny of my "ticket", but luckily they were eventually satisfied with it. Next time I'll just buy a cheap ticket to Singapore or KL.
  2. There's only one direct flight to Bangkok from where I am, and it arrives early in the morning. Should I book the required Test and Go hotel stay for the previous night or the next one? Or will I have to book 2 nights?
  3. Is it realistic to get it approved in 3-4 business days if everything is in order and I have a local friend who can call them if things get stuck?
  4. For anyone else looking at Etihad, I haven't confirmed it, but it appears that they require the more expensive PCR test for all flights.
  5. A quick search showed a result charging 3,500 which seems a bit much. Is there a better alternative that would meet the requirements to fly to the US? Do I need the "fit to fly" certificate? The US embassy doesn't mention it.
  6. I've looked at a few of the signup websites for foreigners, but they all seem to require long-term visas. Is there anywhere I can register since I arrived in 2020 as a visa exempt tourist? I'm in Phuket and would like to get the vaccine here. I'll be visiting my home country soon (where covid is even worse than in Thailand currently), but would prefer to get a vaccine before traveling internationally.
  7. So domestic tourists who have been vaccinated are now allowed to enter? That's a pretty big change.
  8. The current ban on domestic tourism to Phuket was originally set to expire tomorrow. Does anyone know whether it has been extended?
  9. Where did you see 81 cases reported? I only see 42: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/covid-update-sunday-19983-infections-provincial-total
  10. They usually say going back anytime up to a week after the under consideration date is fine.
  11. The final stamp must be done at the same office. It may be possible to have a friend or agent bring your passport to the office though.
  12. I bet you could find someone to do it for half that. Can't you get a private driver for the day for under 2,000? If you figure 2 days, gas, and overnight accommodation, 6,000 seems reasonable.
  13. Actually yes, I wouldn't mind you reading it for me because that picture is too small and blurry. The article to which you linked says exactly what I said: Arrivals from ‘Yellow’ or ‘Orange’ zones For people who start their journey to Phuket from the remaining zones or provinces designated as ‘yellow’ or ‘orange’ COVID-control areas ‒ including Phang Nga ‒ the same rules of entry currently in effect today will still apply after Thursday. As such, all arrivals from yellow or orange zones must be ‘fully vaccinated’ (or received one injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine) at least 14 days before arriving, or they must have been discharged from hospital from recovering from COVID-19 no more than 90 days before arriving. Alternatively, instead of proving the above, they may provide evidence that they tested negative for the virus through an RT-PCR test or an Antigen Test no more than seven days before travelling to Phuket.
  14. Okay, so it's only for arrivals from red zones. Orange and yellow zones still only need a test.
  15. Link? I don't see anything about both a vaccine and negative test being required for entry.
  16. Has anyone done the covid extension in Phuket recently? What's the experience been like?
  17. Is that official? Do you have a source?
  18. Indicators of how much one is likely to spend and the potential benefits to the local economy are certainly factors a country considers when making its rules for visas and tourism, e.g., the covid extension.
  19. Why do you think Thailand is pushing so hard to get tourists back in the country with Phuket sandbox, etc? They want foreigners here spending money to boost the economy. Obviously a big reason they offer covid extensions is to keep us here spending money. That's why it's ridiculous when you guys say he's abusing the extensions when he's doing exactly what the government wants.
  20. > if its true that all means of transport OUT of Phuket is blocked/banned. That's not true. A friend flew to Bangkok this morning.
  21. It's really not that bad here. I'm not part of the sandbox program, but have been moving around Phuket the last few weeks. All the beaches are open. Plenty of restaurants are open. Super low prices on nice hotels. Even massage shops and some "bars" are open (I think they're technically registered as restaurants to avoid the rules) .
  22. Why not just get a massage? Chiropractic therapy has not been shown to be effective in scientific studies and there is a risk of rare but severe injury.
  23. Has anyone gotten a covid extension for a normal tourist visa exempt entry recently in Phuket? Was there an under consideration return date and if so for how long? I've been going to Samui for the past few extensions because they don't do under consideration stamps, and it was so much easier not having to return weeks later for the final stamp. Just trying to decide if I should plan on staying in Phuket long enough for multiple trips to the IO or just return to Samui for a single stamp.
  24. Is anything special required for foreigners who arrived before the start of the sandbox and wish to leave Phuket by bus? I have yet to get the vaccine or any covid tests. I read some reports that seemed to suggest I would need to provide proof of a negative test, but maybe they were only referring to sandbox participants?
