WOW, very very likely denied entry in the way your talking about. Now if you spend 1 month in vietnam and get a thai tourist visa your chances are much better but not 100%. I was similar to you and barely got in with a tourist visa after being out for 1 month in two different countries.

Would you mind sharing where did you apply for your tourist visa, and how was the process?

So I just got my Covid extension until 21.09. Can I apply for another extension on 23.08 (in a couple of days) or my application will be rejected (since I have another month until my current permission of stay expires)?

I did so today at jomtien. Same date as yours. See above post.

  3. Went to jomtien today and got a covid extension (under consideration stamp). I didn't have a tm30 and tried to get one under my gf address, but didn't have blue book photo. Thankfully, the lady was nice enough to tell me that if I show a hotel booking she will give me a tm30 that way. So went out to the lobby, quickly booked a room in agoda, got my tm30, then got my ticket for counter a1, and no one questioned me or gave me a hard time for previous covid stamps.

Process was long, arrived at 08:00 and finished at 15:30 (they kicked us out at 10:15 and said they'll start calling us at 13:00), but I can say that compared to the situation at lak si, this office was way more friendly and accommodating. Everyone's objective there seemed to be to get you what you need to get the stamp you need.

My existing covid extension wasn't set to expire until 9/21, so they accepted my application 30 days early.

  4. Hi all, my girlfriend is a teacher and has recently changed schools but she has found the new school to be a very hostile work environment and is wondering how to get out from under them.

As of now, she has signed a contract for a year with them, but the school has not filed for her work permit yet as they were waiting for her to get a bunch of paperwork done, which she just completed Friday, and her work permit with her old school hasn't been cancelled yet as they agreed to wait on the new school first.

So my question is, if she were to decide to leave this current school what would her options be? Could the new school stop her from trying to work elsewhere because she signed a contract with them? A few scenarios she is considering are to go back to her old school because her work permit is still with them and her old boss has indicated there is an opening for her, or she is thinking of leaving the country for a month and coming back in under a tourist or exempt and take her time applying with various schools, but the question on our minds is what power or ability does the new school have over her with the signed contract?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The new school will have to apply for a work permit for her to get a work permit approval letter that will be needed to apply for a new extension of stay (is not a visa) based upon teaching.

Then the old school will to give her a termination letter stating the last day she will be working to have her current extension canceled to apply for a new extension with supporting documents from the new school.

Not sure why the new school is suggesting a covid 19 extension. I am not sure she will be able to apply for one if she entered the country with a non-b visa. At this time the last day to apply for one is the 24th unless the order for them will will be extended again.

Thank you for this. One thing I'm still unclear on... What's the difference bewteen her non-b visa status vs the extension of stay she gets once she has the work permit?

  6. My gf decided to leave her job of 5 years and start with a new school (English teacher). Her hr rep at the old school told her to just have the hr from the new school contact her, and the old hr rep has said she will hold off on cancelling her current visa while the new school applies for her new one, but has made mention that she can't wait forever and would probably be cancelling by the end of May.

The new school is asking her to apply for a covid visa which seems like not the appropriate way to go about this, but I have no expertise so wondering if anyone whose done this before could offer any advice on the matter?

Is it expected that she should change visa status like this, before applying again for a work visa? Is it possible to do this all within country without exiting, or is she looking at exiting and applying in Vientiane? What paperwork if any should she be pressing the new school to file or obtain (as it is not clear yet if the new school is competent in this process)?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ill be going tomorrow Bangkok visa exemption location (IT Square Laksi Plaza, 3rd Floor)

Will report back, let's see if they let me stay another 2 months, I think it would be my 5th covid extension total.

Has the usual location for covid extensions in Bangkok changed? Been reading through this thread and people are saying they're going to cw, and now this place mentored here I had never even heard of...

Did muang Thong thani finally get shut down? Just preparing myself in advance so I'll know where to go...

  8. I have some friends who just flew in from Germany and they received 30 day stamps, so I'm assuming this is visa on arrival...

Has anything changed with the 30 day extensions since covid began, or can they expect to receive the extension with no trouble? And do they have to wait 15 days to apply for the extension, or can they just go after a few days, as they are looking to be certain about their trip duration ASAP.

Also where are the extensions done now, muang Thong thani or chaeng Watthana?

Thanks in advance for your advice

  9. My girlfriend and I want to take a quick trip to the beach tomorrow, probably Pattaya, we were thinking to either rent or just book a grab but then with the recent news of travel restrictions we're wondering are their roadblocks (literally) to us getting there?

Wondering if anyone has tried to travel out of Bangkok yesterday or today. Are there roadblocks checking every vehicle in and out on major highways? Without that it seems like an uninforcable rule.

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks

The site has been down for about a week already. The are creating a new site.

Topic here about it with a announcement from immigration in the OP.

    https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1221766-the-online-booking-form-for-immigration-in-bangkok-will-be-down-for-the-foreseeable-future/

Until that time do we just go to Muang Thong thani without an appointment? Need to get my follow up stamp for the pending approval (yes I know I'm late)

  11. My girlfriend needs to do her 90 day report tomorrow and all appointments at Mtt are booked, however she saw another 90 day report option available at chamchuri square and booked an appointment there. Did some searching and seems like no one ever posts about going there except for someone talking about a business visa, which is not what my girlfriend has (teacher).

So question is what will happen if she shows up to this location tomorrow for her appointment slot? Turned away? And as a followup, what would happen if she just decided to show up to Mtt tomorrow without an appointment?

Online reporting is failing for her on both the app and the website, so it seems she's got no choice but to report in person.

    How'd it go?

Got a stamp for November 30th. Arrived late, just before lunch and was worried I was going to be locked out until 1pm just like they do at chaeng Watthana, but shockingly they let me in and gave me a stamp within 15 minutes. Walked out of there somewhere around 1210 and hardly saw anyone there.

  13. Filed for a 30 day visa with letter from American embassy on the 23rd of September before they announced amnesty was extended. Didn't realize that after it was extended that I should've still returned on the date they attacked in my passport, October 21st, as I thought the new amnesty would've superseded this, but obviously I was mistaken.

Now I have my appointment to go tomorrow and am wondering what to expect. Will they not stamp me for being a week late? Should I bring any paperwork or money? Should I expect to have to file for the new 60 day visa due to my lateness?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They are not required now unless you change your registered address.

The regulation is number 30 and 31 in English and Thai in this pinned topic, https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/981135-laws-regulations-police-orders-etc/

    Thanks UbonJoe...

Hypothetically, if her school were to still insist that she needs to go, which office in Bangkok handles the tm30 now? CW or MTT? Also, what would you expect to be her likely outcome? Sent away with nothing to show for?

  15. My girlfriend is a teacher and her school is telling her to file a tm30 in preparation for a new work visa.

She filed one in Feb 2020, but because she has recently returned from abroad, she's being told by the school that she needs to file a new one.

I think I read UbonJoe saying that there was a regulation change which nullified the need to re-file so long as your address hasn't changed, which is the case with her. Is this true? If so, anyone have a link to the official announcement for it so we can link her admin?

    Thanks in advance!

Take the BTS to Victory Monument then cross the road (across the Monument) where all the bus stops are. Take the 166 from there (22 baht, airconditioned) and get off at the last stop ????

Avoid the morning - the route is mostly expressway, but still took me nearly 2 hours (!) today because of traffic. Nearly got carsick sitting in a (very) shaky bus for that long!

    Thanks for this, Tabby...

What time did you go? Sadly, my appointment is in the morning, so I don't really have much of a choice for when to go.

Also, did you happen to notice if your bus had a red sign in the window, which is what the other person mentioned.

  17. Someone posted on here a few days ago some decent instructions for how to ride to MTT by BTS then bus. He even included the specific sign on the front of the bus to watch for, as certain buses won't travel to the end of the route, but sadly I now cannot find his post.

If anyone knows how to get there by public transportation, or happens to know the thread and could share it, I would greatly appreciate it. I tried the search function and my own browser history but haven't been able to find it.

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT: I found his post:

Went to extend my tourist visa today and it was pretty easy.

First, it's easy to get to MTT immigration, but it's time consuming.  I took BTS to Victory Monument and then bus 166 (make sure it's the red sign one going to impact and not the one with government complex).  It's a long ride but comfortable and air con and just 22 baht.  Take it to the last stop.  From there it's a short walk to MTT immigration or take a cheap Moto taxi.

Once there, it's off to counter k. You absolutely need an appointment.  First, you wait outside.  Then go in another room and they check your documents and then you get a numbered card and then go to a desk with a computer where the input the data and take the paperwork.  Easy.  Then you get your passport back a few minutes later.  Mine has under consideration until October 19 and I must go back on that date.  The lady said make an appointment as well.

It was easy.  It was time consuming but smooth process.  You need the embassy letter.  I heard you can get 7 days without the letter but not 30.  Embassy letter is a must.

That apparently only if requesting a extension of a entry from 60 day tourist visa entry at J desk.

Appointments for a 30 day extension at the K desk are available.

Would you mind sharing the link again, ubonjoe? Can't seem to find it.

Also, any issue with my not having ever filed TM30? I've never had any visa other than Tourist or Visa exempt, so I've never had the need, although I know that has been a topic of contention in the past. Do you think a copy of my rental agreement would suffice?
