Yes on all.  Actually the way things are going here in the US, the COVID-19 test 72 hrs before the flight is the hardest part.  I have been calling labs and hospitals within a range of 200 miles about this and only seriously ill people are getting test results close to that fast.  My hope is that this jump in testing will subside a bit as it gets closer to Aug. 30th.

Have you tried looking for private clinics I doubt the free ones will get you results that fast because those regular walk in clinics are taking about 10 days at least now. I found rapid tests same day results in NYC for about $95-$299.

  2. The repatriation flights in the US have a limited seats fo Thai nationals then theres a slot for Non-Thai nationals because when my Thai friend called the Cathay Pacific booking office to ask earlier this month they thought she was booking it and told her theres no more seats. The ihanatour agent for the repatriation flight also last month said "Thai nationals closed for bookings" "Non - Thai nationals open"  The moment she said she a foreigner was booking the seat they said "oh yes we have room but theres no room for Thai people at the moment". The ASQ is true no reserved space for one or the other just first come first serve.

I assume there is a guarantee that they will hold the Seoul to Bangkok flight for the connecting passengers if the flight(s) into Seoul are delayed. A 45-minute connection time is pretty tight, especially for international-to-international.

I think they should because the last leg of the flight would only be people going back to Thailand and they would have a list of everyone for the connecting flight. Also the connection at Seoul is very quick as well they are one of the most efficient airports. In a normal instance I think it would be a bit of a concern but I think because its a special flight it should be okay.

As for ASQ rooms well again the first 8 I called at about 35K to 50K for the duration were booked until first week of August

Had the same issue everything is booked until the first week of August called almost all of them down the list. I'm almost considering the Grand centre point terminal 21 which is going for 80k or pushing the flight to a later date.

The largest problem at the moment is the actual approval.

Some of us have been waiting for 3 weeks by now after the date of submitting the application.

I'm aware of just one approval notification so far (still unconfirmed) on the basis of joining the family.

Agreed been waiting almost 4 weeks now . Called embassy the other day to notify its been more than their "15 business days" they told me only 1 person got approved for the COE and he applied weeks before I did they told me to check my email diligently...

    Thank you for your email.

So I guess different hotels have different restrictions

Has anyone received their Certificate of Entry yet ?

Nope I applied over 3 weeks now, in the USA. They said they got my application when I sent it in via mail. Weird they sent confirmation to my 2 references I put when I filed out the online form but not to myself. Now it's just crickets. Nothing from them. Called one time this week, got through they only told me nope your COE isn't ready, no estimated date either and everything is decided from Thailand. I guess when they write "at least 15 business days" it's true.

  8. Applied on June 12th via online and via by mail. Still waiting, nothing from the Washington DC embassy. Called today to check they said theres no update on the COE and they don't have an estimate when it'll be done. They said the decision comes from Thailand not from them. They told me I shouldn't book a flight or ASQ until that COE is approved.

Hi, could someone tell me what exactly is a fit to fly certificate, as opposed to negative result test certificate?

    Thanks in advance.

Fit to fly looks more like a general thing when you apply to work, fit and healthy to work something like that. It doesn't say too much besides your fit and healthy and able to fly. Can get that from your General physician. They had some sample forms on a link on the embassy website but the fit to fly didn't need the covid test.

  10. This was in the instructions and when I filled out the request to return because I have a work permit. (still waiting to hear back from them after I mailed in everything)

    • Non-Thai nationals will be subjected to a 14-day state quarantine at a government-designated Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) facility at their own expenses (including the arrangement to pick up the applicant at the point of entry into Thailand), and obliged to comply with the government's disease prevention measures pursuant to clause 11 of the Regulation issued under Section 9 of the said Emergency Decree.

    * Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) is the process of Quarantine at government-approved hotels at the traveler’s own expense. More information (in Thai) can be found here http://covid-center.hss.moph.go.th/files/A%20State%20Quarantine%2017.4.63.pdf and http://www.hsscovid.com/
