  1. As has been stated, nearly every IO has different requirements. I got a yearly extension 3 times, then had a 2 year break & applied last week in Cha Am. Interestingly they required an extra 4 new forms, a re-notification of address even though we'ved lived at the same place for 10 years plus some forms in Thai only which I believe give the Thai Police permission to fact check. This is in addtion to one of the new forms being STM.11 Consent Form for Fact Checking. the full list of requirements at Cha Am is below. Note the following points for Cha Am: > You can apply 30 days before your visa expires > Bank letter & statements (B100 each) must be signed & stamped by the bank & no more than 7 days before the application date > If the letter & statement are issued on the day of the application - all good. If not you may be asked to deposit money in the account & show the deposit slip as proof. Not the the total amounts must agree. > Amphur Issued KR.2 (B20) must be no more than 7 days old. > Additionally, Cha Am requires their own form called "Residential Certificate" which is quite different to TM.28 or TM.30 > They also require 6 photos of both spouses & will send out the Thai Immigration Police to take additional photos of both spouses plus a Thai Immigration Police Officer & one of your witnesses. > A HAND-DRAWN Map - not a Google Map printout > For a first application, 2 witnesses are required with copies of their ID Card & House Book. For subsequent applications, only one witness is required & it is preferrable to use one of the two for the 1st application. I'm not sure as I was "documented out" but I think my two witnesses also had to sign the Thai Police form giving the police permission to fact check the witnesses. Sorry if the images below are blurry - can't seem to get them any better.
  2. According to this . . . . https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thai-tycoon-premchai-sentenced-to-6-more-months-in-jail-for-having-firearms-at-home/ . . . he spent a bit of time in jail with possibly much more to come.
  3. In my experience with civil & high rise construction contracts in different contries, the Head Contract will specify the Standards materials are to be tested to. This has to be followed up with back to back subcontracts with testing at least equal toj or better than that Standard specified in the Head Contract - & demonstratively so. Otherwise the subcontract is in non-compliance with the Head Contract. In India, the chain of testing used to be that even the iron ore mine from where the raw material was sourced had to be compliant. The first Google search for Thai standards gave me this chart, which lists ASTM, BS, ISO & JIS G standards on which these Thai standards were based. This chart is part of the ASEAN Main POrtal at https://asean.org/ It is useless discussing what standards apply because, as mentioned, they will be listed in the Head Contract. Everything flows on from that.
  4. Please check your facts before making misleading statements. The US doesn't come close to being the biggest contributer on a per capita basis https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/foreign-aid-given-per-capita
  5. For anyone interested, this is my take on the Double Tax Agreement between Thailand & Australia. Also, as far as I know, the Thai Revenue Code is existing legislation that the Revenue Department has asked the department to enforce.
  6. Well then Wikipedia has it all wrong . . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_law_in_New_Zealand The gun laws of New Zealand are contained in the Arms Act 1983 statute, which includes multiple amendments including those that were passed subsequent to the 1990 Aramoana massacre and the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings. Nearly 300,000 licensed firearm owners own and use New Zealand's estimated 1.5 million firearms. Gun licences are issued at the discretion of the police provided they consider the person to be of good standing and without criminal, psychiatric or drug issues; as well as meeting other conditions such as having suitable storage facilities. Gun laws in New Zealand focus mainly on vetting firearm owners, rather than registering firearms or banning certain types of firearms. But I suppose the truth will not stop people from spreading misinformation.
  7. Don't think that kegitgov.org (with their Citizens for Legitimate Government (CLG News) website) have an honest reputation. According to https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/citizens-for-legitimate-government-clg-news/ - Besides didn't Musk donate millions of dollars to Trump's campaign. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elon-musk-277-million-trump-republican-candidates-donations/ Yes money does buy political influence as Giorgia Meloni well knows. And as the following website states - Elon Musk remains Trump’s “first buddy” after donating hundreds of millions to Republican candidates and causes. Musk also has billions riding on government contracts, federal regulations, and technology development for his companies Tesla, SpaceX, and XAI. https://www.fastcompany.com/91257772/trump-inauguration-big-tech-donations-list-google-microsoft-meta-apple Apparently his donations are well spent. Elon Musk has drastically increased his fortune in the weeks following Donald Trump's presidential election victory to become the first person in history to have a net worth in excess of $400 billion. . . . his net worth grow by 69 percent from $264 billion on November 6 to $447 billion on December 12, as he prepares to take on a major role in Trump's incoming administration as a co-leader of the "Department of Government Efficiency." Investors may also believe that Musk himself could have control over cutting down on regulatory practices that affect his industries, such as artificial intelligence. Musk's own artificial intelligence company, xAI, has doubled in value since he launched it in 2023, and is now valued at $50 billion. Musk's value also comes from SpaceX, which remains the world's most valuable private startup, with a value of $350 billion following a new employee share deal, The Times reported. Like Tesla, SpaceX could benefit massively from Musk's close relationship with the new Trump administration, as it is a major player in government contracts with NASA. https://www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-net-worth-donald-trump-victory-1999730 I wonder how much money Musk needs? It has been reported that Geaorge Soros & family have reduced their political donations. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/investigations/3254541/soros-pac-cut-spending-2024-elections/ And I wonder how many things Musk takes credit for inventing that he actually did invent, or make a meaningful contribution to the invention of? https://sciencesensei.com/heres-who-really-invents-the-amazing-things-elon-musk-gets-all-the-credit-for/
  8. Just another simpleton repeating misinformation without bothering to check if it is true or not. Please look at https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/aug/22/social-media/no-social-media-videos-do-not-show-kamala-harris-i/ but then I suppose those who want to believe bulls**t will do so anyway & pass it on to as many as they can to prove how right they are.
  9. To go back to the start of this thread, at the 01:20 mark of this video note what Trump says about ending the Russo-Ukraine war: Looks like me didn't meet his promise.
  10. Putin became Prime Minister in Russia from 9 August 1999 – 7 May 2000. Since1999, according to - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Russia . . . there have been wars involving Russia under Putin Dagestan (1999) Chechnya (1999-2009) Georgia (2008) Ukraine (2014-present) Syria - a civil war between Russia, Iran, Hezbollah & Syria versus ISIL, Ahrar al-Sham, Tahrir al-Sham, & the Syrian Opposition (2015-present) Central Africa - a civil war between Russia, the Central African Republic & Rwanda versus the Coalition of Patriots for Change (2018-present) Mali - a war between Russia & Mali versus Al-Qaeda & Islamic State (2021-present) Burkina Faso - a war between Russia & Burkina Faso versus the Jihadist insurgency of Al-Qaeda & Islamic State So Russia will willingly go to war for whatever reason they deem fit. NATO expansionism may have been only part of the reason. But states close to Russia may well have feared for their sovereignty. Strangely enough, the Charter for Eropean Security was adopted on 19 November 1999. Russia was one of the signatories, as was Ukraine I believe. This charter - "reaffirmed the inherent right of each and every participating State to be free to choose or change its security arrangements, including treaties of alliance, as they evolve." See - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Ukrainian_War Russia has not always followed this Charter - 4 violations have been listed under the section "Significance of the Charter" at - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charter_for_European_Security Therefore, IMO it would be overly simplistic to blame NATO expansionism for the Putin invaision of Ukraine.
  11. You are totally confused by the term "socialist" in the official name of the Nazi Party which was the National Socialist German Workers' Party . According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism, "Nazism is the far-right totalitarian socio-political ideology and practices associated with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party (NSDAP) in Germany". . . and is "a form of fascism, with disdain for liberal democracy and the parliamentary system. It incorporates a dictatorship, fervent antisemitism, anti-communism, anti-Slavism, anti-Romani sentiment, scientific racism, white supremacy, Nordicism, social Darwinism and the use of eugenics into its creed." I don't think there are any people that could be even further right of that ideology. But I may be wrong.
  12. I'm confused. Are they accused of extorting money from an official they accuse of being corrupt? If he is corrupt & paid it, why isn't he charged with corruption? The kettle calling the pot black. Why aren't they all charged?
  13. Wow - a lot of misinformation in this thread. People should really check facts before showing how misinformed they are > The UVF are anti-IRA & were formed to keep Northern Ireland as part of the United Kingdom. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulster_Volunteer_Force > The UVF were rather indiscriminate in their actions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Ulster_Volunteer_Force_actions > The Shankill Butchers also had a similar reputation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shankill_Butchers > As did the Red Hand Commandos https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Hand_Commando > Northern Ireland is considered part of the United Kingdom & they are entitled to travel under a British Passport - as are many former colonies - as there are different types of British nationality & different types of British passports to match https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_passport Also see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Ireland > I presume he did his time for the crimes he was convicted of, & being a suspect in other crimes does not make him guilty of those crimes. So he is a free man - whether or not he is a good or bad man is another question we cannot answer based on the article. > Finally, who cares how old they are?
  14. Of course I know that. I didn't say the US invaded North America. However I should have said the British, French, Spanish etc. invaded North America as the US didn't exist until later. My mistake for your misunderstanding. But then there are plenty of other colonial powers throughout history. The Right of Conquest is how the invading countries justify pillaging other countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonialism
