  1. According the daily figures on the NBT facebook site (which are also available on the Thaiger site), these are the daily figures for the six provinces listed for the past 7 days.

    image.png.42f44342a270bbe35f526563eb46d4e7.png

As you can see, Mae Hong Song has gone 42 days without a reported case. As it is on the Myanmar border, I find that hard to believe. And Maha Sarakham has recorded 436 cases since 01-April-2021, but only 457 since records were started as far as I can tell.

So someone has been given the wrong information.

  2. Rob Muir said that -

It had been nearly 200 days without a new infection. So things were more relaxed.

According to the stats from https://covid19.th-stat.com/en/share/map, which is now off line, but which I downloaded in February, the last case in Phuket was 25-12-2020. The next case after that according to CCSA was 07-April. Excel tells me that that is 103 days.

A LONG way from 200 days.

And to put it into perspective, Phuket are now 19th out of 77 Provinces with a total of 579 cases since 01-April-2021 & 583 since recording began.

So they did well in the 1st & 2nd waves, but those <deleted> Hi-Sos who took it down to Phuket for the Kolour Beachside Festival which was held April 2 and 3 with events at Café Del Mar Phuket in Kamala, and Shelter Phuket Dance and Night Club and Illuzion Nightclub, both in Patong have done their thing. Now Phuket is suffering.

  3. Using province population figures from Wikipedia (2019 figures) & Covid Cases from the daily Government update (as of 15-Feb), the top 20 Provinces with the largest number of reported cases are as below. The Provinces in bold are the ones listed as getting the first doses of vaccine.

Note that the population figures are for Thai people & do not include foreign workers - either legal or illegal. Note also that the Reported Cases includes the 1st & 2nd waves. As far as I can tell, Chiang Mai has had 21 reported cases in a population of almost 1.8 million & Nakom Pathom 88 cases in a population of almost 1 million. The Infection Rate/100,000 people is the number of infections divided by the population multiplied by 100,000.

I would have thought Ang Thong & Samut Songkhram with infection rates of around 40 would also have been candidates for the vaccine.

With only 2 million doses, & a total population of those Provinces getting the vaccine of nearly 14 million people, a lot of people in those Provinces will miss out anyway. But it is a start.

  4. Here is another link to a clickable map of Thailand in English. It has not been updated since 14-Jan. And Buen Kan is the only province in green - this might mean that they have with no reported cases. Phetchaburi numbers appear to be as per other government reported numbers.

I don't know how accurate it is, or if this map will ever be updated. Maybe there are just too many cases.

  5. What happened to the following as publicized 07 Jan?

    image.png.7ac8d0ee652a65c153f51b8622d3e4f6.png

There were 5 zones. Now there are 4? They haven't updated this as far as I know, but I can't find anything on the govt dept websites. Dark Red for Max & Strict Control; Red for Max Ctrl; etc.

And the CCSA briefing shown on Youtube on 26 Jan showed 14 white Provinces (no 2nd wave cases), a heap of green provinces (cases in the last 7 or more days), then some yellow (cases 5-6d), orange (3-4d) & red (1-2d). Obviously an attempt to pretend that they have the 2nd wave under control!

With 1,778 cases detected in the past 2 days with the increased testing in Samut Sakhon, I don't think they have.

Now the gov't wants to re-gig the zone colours again. Red, Orange, Light Orange, Yellow & Green. It looks like Covid Control by Confusing the Public. If they stick to one system, it would be better. But changing horses midstream does tend to indicate the govt does not have control.

There are 77 Provinces in Thailand with 5 Districts in Bangkok that were previously Dark Red (I think). So what is Bangkok zoned as? What are the travel requirements between a Red or Orange & a Light Orange, Yellow or Green Zone?

I'm confused. Yes Covid Control by Confusion. It does work.

  6. Please do the maths - it is easy to check today's total against the 1st infographic

    Date  New   Total
    16-01-21     230    11,680
    17-01-21     374    12,054
    18-01-21     369    12,423
    19-01-21     171    12,594
    20-01-21       59    12,653
    21-01-21     142    12,795
    22-01-21     309    13,104
    23-01-21     198    13,302
    24-01-21     198    13,500
    25-01-21     187    13,687
    26-01-21     959    14,646

  7. Totally agree with NanLaew

The government  should get all reports to match in numbers & zoning. Even the Dept of Disease Control Covid-19 Situation Reports don't agree.

    https://covid19.th-stat.com/en

And what Zone are the five Maximum Control provinces. I thought there were only 4. But even they don't agree with Phuket.

    map.jpg

Phuket officials say there are eight

I'm confused and it seems like all the Government agencies are too!

With the Border Police - who were pulled off the border in their thousands under Prayut’s direct order to confront largely peaceful protests who were challenging his government. It was a blatant misuse of this force that likely contributed to or caused the problem we have having now. It’s no wonder Prayut and his cabal don’t want any focus on them.

There was this report  on 26-Dec in the Nation in case you missed it -

The big question is how many Thai & farang  lives is the economy worth to the elite who apparently run the country?

  9. Worldometers has the testing & the rates per million population.

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

As of today Monday 04-Jan at 12:33pm -

    • Thailand's rate was 17,426/Million with Deaths /Million = 0.9
    • Australia's rate was 447,973 (DPM = 35)
    • US rate = 777,640 (DPM = 1,085)
    • UK = 806,445 (DPM = 1,102)
    • Taiwan = 5,346 (DPM = 0.3)
    • South Korea = 85,828 (DPM = 19)

Make of that what you will.

Nonsense. In certain countries, including the US and the UK, covid 19 has become a political numbers game. Your comments are misplaced and lack substance.

What comments are misplaced & lack substance? The US & the UK are playing political Russian Roulette with peoples lives for the sake of keeping themselves in government. They have never done enough to protect the people they promised under oath to protect. It is their DUTY to protect their people. So tell me, how many people have died in the US & UK while the government fiddled like Nero & did nothing?

  11. I'm a New Member & today got my Application for a Marriage Visa Extendsion approved in Tha Yang (near Cha Am). It only took 4 visits & a number of changes from what they told me they wanted to what they actually accepted. Here is the list. Hope it is of use.

By the way, the Tha Yang Office now has a system in place to keep people in line & at a physically acceptable distance. Very impressed.
