What "Purpose" did you use for the transfer only if you use "Funds for Long Term Stay in Thailand" then this is done as a Foreign Transfer whereas if you use something like "General Living Expenses" this will often be done as an Intra-Thai bank transfer.

I transferred money from the UK using "Funds for Long Term Stay in Thailand" at around 1:15pm ICT & expect it will hit my account at 14:03pm ICT tomorrow (Bangkok Bank seem to always apply overseas transfers at 2PM & it always seems to hit my account at 14:03PM).

Used :funds for long term stay" as always! Like I keep saying previously the transfers  were almost instant. Not the following day! I obviously know not to do weekend transfers.

So how long before 09:47 ICT yesterday did you initiate the transfer? In my experience Wise normally operate within a daily timeframe between 08:34 ICT and 08:54 ICT for issuing their emails confirming that transfers have been sent. Unless Wise receive your money before this timeframe starts, therefore, you will have missed their bus for sending transfers to Thailand that particular day, I'm afraid.

      You set up your transfer

      We received your GBP

      We paid out your THB

All Thai times!  BTW  I did not need the money instantly/urgently.  But ,my point is previously they used to be almost instantaneous. Now they aren't!  So something has changed IMVHO.

I got this email shortly after sending "wise" the funds

We’ve just received your money. Now we can start your transfer of 2,000 GBP to THB.

We’ll pay out your money shortly. And it should be there today, August 2.

We’ll send you another email when your money’s on its way. You can always track your transfer from your account.

Are you saying that you still haven't received the standard email from Wise informing you that your transfer is on its merry way to Thailand? If you have received it, though, you should actually be pointing the finger of blame in this instance at whichever partner bank Wise used at the Thai end for your transfer (Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn or TMB) and/or SCB.

Myself I initiated my latest monthly Wise transfer from the UK on Sunday afternoon, which duly ended up in my Bangkok Bank account at 14:01 yesterday (Monday). Par for the course.

The problem is they, received my money at 0947 thai time yesterday but did not initiate the transfer from their end until 0844 today!  I have been using "wise" since 2013 and transfers are getting progressively slower without adequate explanation from them.

I just did my first WISE transfer, U.S. --> Bangkok Bank, ACH push. Used Funds for long-term stay reason.

Used the web, WISE gave me an exact day (+~30-ish hours), and weirdly, time (14:09).

I monitored this transfer using the app - brilliant BTW.

Again, weirdly, I received an SMS from BBPCL at 14:09 notifying me of the transfer.

For the OP, I assume they gave you a date, maybe time too, when you initiated the transfer?

If so, have they exceeded that time commitment?

30 hours later the money still hasn't reached my account. previously transfers were almost instant! they have changed something since becoming "wise" but they won't admit to it.

  5. Transferred money this morning but it still has not arrived in my Thai bank account. "Wise" are saying it's a problem this end with the Thai banking system. (My bank SCB BTW)  Any other transaction I have made today with SCB has gone thru immediately. Has anyone else has a problem with slow "Wise" transfers recently? Certainly still this best to use for rates and charges but the speed of everything seems to have nosedived since they changed their name. Anyone else had similar slow transfers recently?

    This country just beggars belief.

    Weird.

Move elsewhere then? That's if you are  actually in Thailand now? We have asked at our local eateries and will be allowed to drink discretely on those days.FYI ,  We have never been unable to drink , even on the night that "Elvis left the building." However, if the "demon" drink wasn't available for a few days in the year I think we could manage!?

Actually yes, I wouldn't mind you reading it for me because that picture is too small and blurry.

The article to which you linked says exactly what I said:

Arrivals from ‘Yellow’ or ‘Orange’ zones

For people who start their journey to Phuket from the remaining zones or provinces designated as ‘yellow’ or ‘orange’ COVID-control areas ‒ including Phang Nga ‒ the same rules of entry currently in effect today will still apply after Thursday.

As such, all arrivals from yellow or orange zones must be ‘fully vaccinated’ (or received one injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine) at least 14 days before arriving, or they must have been discharged from hospital from recovering from COVID-19 no more than 90 days before arriving.

Alternatively, instead of proving the above, they may provide evidence that they tested negative for the virus through an RT-PCR test or an Antigen Test no more than seven days before travelling to Phuket.

You asked the question you numpty! I have tried to help. But can I suggest in future? Rather than wasting people's time here who are trying and able to help, that you take the time to explore and  source the information from the myriads of other sources out there rather than ask fumduck questions here?

Okay, so it's only for arrivals from red zones.  Orange and yellow zones still only need a test.

You want me to read it for you too?     Here's another link for you!  Oh and thank you for the thank you!

My guess is that any minor dignitary traveling in the Prayut cabinet's entourage need not go through any of the pesky procedures reserved for the commoners.  Which makes me wonder -  How many people were infected by the head of the Surin Chamber of Commerce during the grand opening.
How many of these elite officials are virus vectors bringing the Covid with them on their private jets?

Phuket government officials should be applying the same rules that it forces on tourist to ever person who enters and then resides on the island.  But?

My guess is no-one was infected by any dignitaries. But, you would say that there is now a pandemic spreading because these bigwigs visited. Anything to cast dispersion on the efforts being made here in Phuket? Look at the figures of cases either locally or through sandbox and you will find they are minimal compared to the rest of Thailand . But of course you won't believe them will you?

there is only one or two that have failed a test on arrival the rest have failed tests after having been here for many days - I have asked the question many times - if they didn't bring it with them where did they get infected - very likely in Phuket when mixing with the locals - there is no other explanation, the Phuket administration will not want to publish this for obvious reasons - exposing the truth would raise some very serious questions about community infection in Phuket

we can however read between the lines with certain actions being implimented recenty - like school closures and recent very strict controls on entry over land with the army involved - in my opinion they have a very serious problem that they are hiding - COVID is rampant in Phuket

Schools were closed as a precaution. The land borders have been tightened up to reinforce the "sandbox"  model. Over cautious maybe ,but the measures make sense.  Smedley , I don't know where you are ,but  there is NOT a rampant covid outbreak in Phuket.

  11. Latest from Phuket News ref checks Article focuses on people going to and coming from Phang Nga.

“People who live in Phuket and go to Phang Nga must present to officers at the Phuket Check Point the certificate showing they are fully vaccinated or they must show COVID-19 test results proving they have tested negative for COVID-19 within the past seven days. No matter how long they are in Phang Nga, they need to present one of the documents,” Vice Governor Piyapong told The Phuket News.

The same requirement applies for when people living in Phuket return to the island from Phang Nga, he added.

“They may also need to have something to show officers at the checkpoint to prove that they really are just coming from Phang Nga. The officers will be stricter on checking all arrivals,” Vice Governor Piyapong said.

  12. in Phuket, most (if not all,) expats with valid visas, residence certificates TM30 completed and who do their 90 day report were able to register and get vaccinated. The ones who struggled did not qualify under the above criteria but some have subsequently been able to present themselves at a local hospital and get vaccinated. That is until they ran out lol. But, there is a concerted effort by the Phuket authorities to vaccinate as many as they can. https://www.thephuketnews.com/phuket-catch-up-vaccination-sessions-to-open-80655.php

Airplane inmediatele after Phuket continued flight to Bangkok, where rest of passengers had destination.

After a more than 8 hours flight to Thailand, I assume that they went to hotel for R&R before flying back home next day.

No! The logistics of Flight Crew Duty Limitations are much stricter for night flights than day flights. It is well within limitation to operate a two sector day flight . And, as it is a triangular operation,  for the crew to overnight in BKK makes sense. Especially as EK may have other services to BKK that crew can be rotated on to or not.
