  1. Is this official or is it at the discretion of the immigration officer and they just never bother with it? I've been in a similar circumstance but with a health problem and thought about rescheduling the flight but didn't want to push my luck. Thanks.
  2. Sorry but just saw your comment. China: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/25/us/politics/us-china-russia-ukraine.html Germany & France: https://www.ft.com/content/9b3bc8c0-d511-4eec-9cbd-5a4f432f6909
  3. For the Thai Pass you have to buy health insurance. I don't know how much that's running now but when I bought mine, it wasn't near $20.
  4. Is that why France, Germany and China are all said not to have believed the intelligence warnings? Or does the sun not rise in China when you're locked up in your apartment?
  5. Sorry, I guess it spellchecked "MTT" out of my original post. I went to Meung Thong Thani for the lost departure card and then to CW for my last 30 days. At MTT, she asked me if I had a police report and never said she wouldn't process my replacement request without it but if I am getting up early, I'm making it count.
  6. It was for me. I withheld the police report in case they didn't request it but they did. I asked this forum and I thought it was you or UbonJoe who told me it might be required, so I did it.
  7. This was precisely my experience as of February 2022. To extend my 60 day visa, I had to get a police report before going to MTT to acquire a new departure card before getting my last 30 days at CW. I was asked to make merit at the police station before I left. If you're not extending your visa, then it's irrelevant as you can pick one up at the airport. Or you could before Covid.
  8. It shows up on Google Maps and you can just direct the driver yourself. If you tell them it's next to Impact Arena, they would probably know that if they are a taxi driver and not the guy's cousin, in from the sticks for the week to see the sights.
  9. I don't believe Japan is open for tourism although non-citizens can now return to the country. Flying back to the US on ANA and there are a lot of cheap flights that involve a transfer between Haneda and North so I am not sure how this works.
  10. DrJ, do you know if there is an updated TM7 form on this site? When I went to CW for the TR60 extension they made me fill out a new one as my format had been replaced. I got mine from here: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/simple-file-list2/form-download/1486547929418.pdf
  11. I entered Thailand on December 5, 2021 on a 60 day tourist visa and received an additional 30 days to max out my 90 day allotment (last day March 5,2022) . I'd like to extend my tourist visa and stay another three weeks or so but do I go to Meuang Thong Thani or CW office to do this. In addition to all of the typical TR visa extension documents, I need an affidavit (downloaded from this site) and copy of filed TM30 form. Is this all? Thanks for your help as always.
  12. When was the last time the flu killed 2.5K/day? The worst flu epidemic in the US in the last decade killed 52K over the 2017-2018 season. That's not even close to the current number of deaths which will rise from yesterday's 2600. Clearly, Omicron is not the flu. It couldn't be more obvious.
  13. How could he possibly know given the small number of samples collected? He's a scientist not the Oracle at Delphi.
  14. Google might be the best way. Good thinking and thanks.
  15. Anyone know if the Chatuchak plant market is open and what the hours of operation might be? I recall it used to be Tu-Thurs 10-6 but with The Covid and all, I wonder if it's still up and running. Thanks for any info.
  16. There is a new study out on the reliability of the antigen tests. If you are interested more in your welfare, the antigen test doesn't look reliable. It will be interesting to see if US entry rules are amended accordingly. https://www.statnews.com/2022/01/05/study-raises-doubts-about-rapid-covid-tests-reliability-in-early-days-after-infection/?utm_source=STAT+Newsletters&utm_campaign=936e06e45e-Daily_Recap&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8cab1d7961-936e06e45e-153549874
  17. My understanding is the you do NOT need a RTPCR test. An antigen test will do in order to get in. This came up before I left WDC in December so unless the rules have since changed, you can do it cheaper and quicker although at this point, you've prob already done it. Best of luck and safe trip back.
  18. Yeah, I wondered if the hotel made a copy of it and I could use that for my extension but if the two offices are close to one another, I'll just deal with the chore.
  19. Is that right? Getting it done in one day would be ideal so I'll try that. Thanks
  20. OK, thanks. Not a worst-case scenario but a real hassle and I've learned my lesson.
