Have you ever heard of recent first hand experience being better than pictures on websites of when hotels first opened?
There's always one.......never mind.
OP, if you are interested in the Banyan Tree hotel, I suggest for you to go on "hungry hub". They seem to do a lot of packages for stays including free food credit, free spa or afternoon tea set for 2 people. Maybe there is a package that would suit you.

Actually, the younger generation did challenge them but no one else supported them. Teenagers and young adults went to the streets during Covid and fought for a proper democracy. The rest of the population just complained about lower incomes while drinking beer and whiskey.
It would take a Sri Lanka situation for people to wake up here, right now they are half drunk, half asleep.

I haven't been there but I know the Thai man in charge (lovely guy) and he is very serious about his beef. He opened a few restaurants and is a wholesaler as well. His Thai beef (wagyu, aged or normal) is pretty tasty. It is not the cheapest, but you pay for good quality beef.
So, I don't know if that restaurant is actually good, but the meat should be.

By tomorrow, TAT will have made their own survey by interviewing 3 people in Bangkok. Thailand will rank no. 1 out of 688 countries.
All is well.

I also do not quite understand how she could be 2nd overall, but 4th in her age category, defies logic.
Second in women under 155cm and 4th among women aged 30-40 of any sizes?
I must give a lot of respect to her. It takes a lot of focus and determination to reach this physique.

Well, he is not a doctor so he probably won't share their concerns..
All jokes aside, this has been happening even before Covid and in all parts of the world. The world overall healthcare system is melting and medical staff have had enough of being exploited until they burn out.
Maybe, just maybe... Governments should start thinking about the root of the problem. Medical studies are hard, long AND expensive. It is often that doctors come from well to do families. Let's make medical studies more approachable (lower school fees, accommodations assistance and plenty of other things can be done to support medical students). Yes, it will cost money. But, not only is it worth it, it is paramount.

They usually buy a car they can't afford, a house/condo they can't afford, a phone they can't afford and so on...
Problem is, it's way too easy for Thai people with a job to obtain loans and multiple credit cards. There are people that became experts at cheating the system and obtain those. They now help others do the same for a fee.
Then when things go awry, they sometimes resort to loan sharks. That's when their lives are ruined and they never manage to get out of those schemes.

Pegasus is hacking software, or spyware, developed, marketed and licensed to governments around the world by an Israeli company, the NSO Group.
"Yep, that was us." Investigation concluded.

The strange thing is they only seem to choose the

Well, they are trying to be "realistic". Winning all 6 numbers is, well... unlikely. They're already happy if they win 2k or 4k. Still unlikely as well.
I'm not surprised digital tickets sell out fast. It's easy and convenient and may even attract the younger generations who are glued on their phones 24/7.

I am a bit confused with this new scheme. Do you have to invest at least 40 million baht for 3 years PRIOR to be eligible to buy up to 1 rai of land? Or do you have to invest at least 40 million baht in a land of max 1 rai and keep it for a minimum of 3 years?

He is probably right in his accusations.
His motives are probably not what he claims they are.
Most importantly, he is certainly in danger of going back to jail or worse. I hope for him that he has some sort of leverage to remain free/alive.

A banana approx = 7-8thb ( think 7-11 sells for 9?)
A cup noodle soup in 7-11 cost 15thb plus.
A cup of yoghurt cos 14 thb, one with a bit muesli 20thb.
Just a few samples...
If the school food budget is 21thb per day, and one supposed to serve the kids from it too, and turn some profit too,
The reality that 21 thb won't buy a lot of balanced diet nowadays.
But understand why it may be hard to swallow that fact by some.
Schools buy in bulk at a much lower cost than 7/11. But I agree that 21 Baht doesn't give much, especially nowadays. They should be able to add a fruit and a veggie for that price though.
Tough times for everyone, it's just a shame that children pay the price too.

Hello,
Condo purchase/will are basic procedures anyone can do.... But thanks anyway.
Already in touch with Khun Patchara..From 1st phone contact and her phone call after I sent an information note, she phoned, gave a list of docs to gather and announced a very reasonable price to handle the case..
Will meet her next week but so far so good. Thanks to everyone.
Have a good day
Maybe if you were more precise in the matter you want handled, recommendations would be as well. Good luck anyway in your proceedings.

I agree with Pattaya, many feel 10-50 years younger after a trip there. Now, that's some magical healthcare!

My experience catching a cab that time (0300 or so) for Airport at Suk, soi 7 area the taxis will never use a meter. 5 yrs ago it was in the 500 thb range.
Not surprised in Nana area. I used to go from one taxi to another after going out around soi 11 until someone accepted to turn the meter on. And I lived nearby, so their usual "200" baht nonsense didn't appeal to me.

You wont need a translator. You will probably need a couple of photocopies of your passport, entry stamp etc, and maybe a passport photo, there will be a photocopy shop close by.
That's why I appreciate this forum a lot. You ask a question and you get a clear and helpful answer within 10 minutes. Thanks to all the members who always take the time for it.

I haven't been there in forever, I might as well go visit again. I really enjoyed going to the Lumphini night market, easy access from MRT and liked the atmosphere. The Safari restaurant was fun too and I remember having ostrich steak there once and it was actually tasty. Too bad it closed after the red shirts protests if I recall.

It is extremely easy to get a taxi in the middle of the night in Bangkok. If you are not near a main road, you might prefer to use the Bolt app to get a taxi, however. You might not find a taxi cruising in the depths of a residential area.
Agreed, if you live by Sukhumvit road or any main streets, finding a taxi in Bangkok at night shouldn't take more than a few minutes. If you live inside smaller sois, it might be an issue and in this case like BritTim said, use Bolt, Grab or whatever app there is available.

That's really not good but I guess it's happening all around the world unfortunately. It's just tougher for people to absorb in countries such as here where most are already struggling to keep things afloat or just survive..

Needless death of a Thai teen whose friend was on the phone on a bike: So many questions about the Thai roads
in Thailand News
Posted
I'll just say this: my GF's daughter just obtained her driving license. It took 3 days (4 hours each time) and a test (theory and driving) to get it done in roughly a week. Would I let her take our car and drive alone in Bangkok's streets? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Even teachers there warned us that getting your license doesn't mean you know how to drive. The whole system is messed up and they should start there at the root of the problem if they want different results.
RIP to the girl and so many others.
