Who needs air-con and hot water?

It's not about being a wimp; you said it yourself, you're not much of sweater so clearly your body deals with hotter temperatures better, while others do not. That's not something you can always acclimatise, some people's bodies can run hotter, while other cannot.
Also, its not just about feeling comfortable. I sometimes sit right in front of the fan with the aircon off im im just mooching at home, but im still sweating. If I was to try and sleep this time of year without aircon it wouldn't be possible, I would sweat buckets in bed, probably couldn't actually get to sleep and would wake up dehydrated.
Same as in the morning, when I get out of the shower, if I dont have the aircon on im super hot while getting dressed and getting ready around the house. Without the aircon my work clothes would be drenched before I even stepped out of the house, let alone get to the office.
It's not about manning up, its about how your body deals with it, you cannot change that.Yep, I'm exactly the same as you, unthinkable for me not to have aircon. As for the bill, it's money well spent in my eyes. One time we had a power cut in the middle of the night, I had to go to a hotel or would be impossible to sleep in an open oven.

Weird how expats always talk about electric bills all the time and like to compare. Imagine going out with 'chums' in the UK or wherever and having a convo about electric bills? It must be the boredom of living here and not having too much in common with each other?

Not much chance of a bars/pubs opening then or football with crowds.
Highly doubt there will be crowds anywhere (unless it's really avoidable) until a vaccine.
On my supposed trip to the UK in June I had booked 2 tickets for Phantom (was taking Mother) at least I will get refunded.

Oh, I didn't realise you could do it like that. Glad I asked now. Cheers.
So I get this right if I apply say on the 28th July will they give another 60 days from that date or will still it still be 60 days from the last entry stamp (June 13th) so up to aug 11 approx

No need to do the extension since you are allowed ot stay until July 31st. You could apply for the 60 day extension shorley before the July 31st so you would not have to leave the country for a new entry.
Oh, I didn't realise you could do it like that. Glad I asked now. Cheers.

What makes you think it will not be possible in August.
There is no indication at this time I have seen that it will not be possible.
Joe - my last entry stamp on my 1 yr non O based on marriage is June 13th..there isn't much point in getting a 60 day ext on that at immigration, is there?

You have to be at least as strict as the governments policy, or stricter, cannot be less strict.
Right.

I think you will find this is a load of tosh.
The governors get their position because they are expected to adhere to decisions made by the government. Every province will ban the alcohol sales this month, and the ones, like above, who specify the 15th, will extend it to the end of the month as it gets nearer. That is what Mr P and his cronies have decided on, it is called control and power.
Any governor who would try to go against the government's decisions, will be moved or dismissed, with no questions asked.
Only one person talking tosh here, YOU.

Overnight. She was fine in the morning. And frankly, that is about as long as I would tolerate. Sorry. Not into the dysfunctional relationship thing.
I do know what you mean. It's just odd and obviously makes for a very bad atmosphere in the house, and then it becomes this silly who talks first loses type of game. It can also be awkward if you catch each others eye accidently, or you pass each other on the stairs or coming in and out a door, or someone comes to the door for them and then you have to get their attention even when you don't want to, etc etc..
Mind you, it's not just a modern day thing, I remember growing up my folks use to have silent periods that went on for days, it wasn't nice.

because she is half Thai, because her Mother is Thai, because her Grandparents cousins etc are Thai and because she visited the family once a year, every year, because she speaks and writes Thai and speaks Issan (Loa), fluently. It would surely be odd is she wasn't interested
Calm down lol, you will get yourself all excited.

sorry perhaps I mislead you. She was born in Thailand, by force of work and family circumstance, but was taken to the UK at 6 months old.
Oh ok.

I Have a mixed race, Thai/British daughter, 21 years old now and living in the UK. We took particular pains to ensure that she strayed in touch with her Thai culture and heritage and she visits often and speaks fluent Thai and Issan. However, as she has finished her university education and seen how I am having to jump through stupid hoops here, and she has interacted with some of the bureaucracy and people, as we all do, she has become more and more disenchanted and indifferent to Thailand. In effect Thailand has lost her, as they treat her as more farang than Thai, so she is now acting that way. She has travelled the World with us, lived when she was young in other Asian countries and seen how they develop and live their lives If her Mum and me did not live here, and when we and her grandparents pass away, I doubt she will ever bother to come back. If asked, she will say she is British and leave it at that, actually she would probably say English. Shame really.
I wouldn't complain. I have 2 daughters and sincerely hope they don't stay here for their adult life's. How did she make her way to the UK so young and without her parents? Must have been a brave move?

Highly unlikely you will get a refund.
Many private schools (on the Thai calendar) are going back on July 1 but with no holiday in October this year.

Told my eldest, who lives in London , that they would have to drag me back to the UK screaming. They are all paranoid and fearful, most of it driven by an irresponsible media. She was not impressed with my view that the quicker they can get back to something like normal, the faster society and the economy will recover. But I don't envy them.
Hardly a bed of roses here though is it. I very much doubt that your eldest would come and live here??

Yes. There are condos and condos of course, but living, as many do here, in something less less than 40 sqm, would kill me off. My study alone is bigger than that.
A study? Oooh I say.
Yes, needs to be a decent size. Being single and having a nice done out condo is good. Impresses woman. They may even give you a discount!

A bit harsh. I've lived in houses and condos, and while I now prefer a house I enjoyed my time in condo's for the best part, the key is not to have noisy neighbours.
Rich, wealthy people live in condo's (apartments) in NYC for example, yes they will very big, but a condo all the same.

Exactly. How can anyone save a 'lot' of money just by not drinking here. I suppose some have different ideas of what a lot of money is.

Ok a few days ago i said i guess this would not happen. I think I have to eat my words as it did happen.
I wonder how many foreigners are now calling their embassy to be airlifted out as they feel its a medical emergency now they can't have their beer. ????
I guess a lot of people are saving a lot of money now. For the poor this is great news no fights about how to spend the limited funds on food or on alcohol. Bad news for those who can afford it but can't buy it.
If only the people had not spoiled it by holding big parties with alcohol at homes and breaking all the rules. Too bad for the good ones that everyone is suffering now.
Define 'a lot' of money? How can not having a few beers safe you a LOT of money?? Is a lot of money to you a couple of thousand baht or so??

I am happy. Not caring less about booze is not being vindictive. Just the opposite, I am so glad to all get out and enjoy a great round of golf.
Will book for Siam CC next week beautiful course no booze needed to have a good time thanks.
Don't dig the hole deeper, you played your hand, and said the same thing the other day too. It is very clear the type of person that you are. I assume you play golf alone?
