Assume you mean that your current permit expires in 52 days.

Immigration requires 2 months of seasoning

    Your application would be rejected.

Obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife.

    That provides required time.

Edit: just noticed OP has used his 60 day extension.

Border bounce does not help as you would then need to do a new non O marriage

Not quite, i have my visa end on the 7th april on that day i will have only 53 days of 400k in the bank, i was ill with covid as i was about to transfer and that caused the issue.

Is there any possibility of swapping to a visa for support of children?

    Kind regards

If you are only eligible for a 15-day visa on arrival (not a 30-day visa exemption) you will not be able to resolve your problem with a border bounce. The visa on arrival is not extendable, and cannot be used to apply for a "conversion" Non O visa at Immigration on the basis of marriage. Your best solution will probably be to go to Savannakhet Laos for a Non O visa (giving a 90 day permission to stay) followed by one-year extensions in the normal way.

A (risky) alternative is to discuss this with Chiang Mai immigration with a view to overstaying until the funds are seasoned, pay the overstay fine, and get the extension then.

After a denied extension request, and being given seven days to leave the country, a subsequent application for an extension will be refused out of hand.

EDIT (should have mentioned this first): Have you ever received the 60-day extension to visit your Thai spouse? If not, use that now. It does not require financial proof, and will solve your problem.

    Thanks for your detailed answer.

Do you know first hand or by policy, that a failed extension means another extension is dead on arrival, or is this conjecture on your part?

Ive used up my 60 day in this continued stay.

Someone else mentioned border bounce and this did seem unlikely.

I guess a visit to Laos it is.

    Regards.

  3. Hi.

I have only 52 days for my 400k when i need to get my new extension from Chiangmai immigration.

Can I still apply for my extension, it fail and then apply again, when the money would be seasoned?

Has anyone experienced a failure in applying for extension did you have to leave? Could you reapply?

If this is not a possibility how would a border bounce work coming back in on a 15 day tourist visa and extending to marriage non O?

    Much appreciated.

Only one 60 day extension to visit wife per entry.

You can obtain non O from Savannakhet or you could do border bounce reenter visa exempt and obtain non O marriage in Thailand

If I was to do a border bounce at Mae sai, (as i need to make up 6 days for 400k to be seasoned), are you saying I can extend that exempt tourist visa  of 15 days upto 12 months for marriage?

    Has anyone done this practically?

    Thanks

  5. Hi.

I am interested if anyone can help.

    Based near Chiangmai.

I am on extension non O to wife. I missed the 60 day window for 400k in bank.

I have had a 60 day extension in 2020 to start my extension to season the funds.

Is it possible to do the same again?

Or will i have to start visa process again at savannahkhet?

I have 2 children with my wife.

    Thanks

I worked backwards from the amount of money transferred as GBP and it was converted to baht automatically.

Bangkok bank forex rate is not very good but I managed to make the transfer and I will do it again but reluctantly. To transfer roughly the same amount from Wise UK to Bangkok Bank was about 8 times cheaper then BBK to Wise charges. But needs must when the devil drives, but,  the devil is a hard bargainer and a relatively an expensive way to go.

Having said that, I think that the 1,050 baht is a fixed fee for however much you need to transfer.

There are several other options, Dee money is one (but you have to open an account with them).

Western Union is another and available at most post offices.

did you use Iban and any other details did you send through a tester amount or just send it regardless?

    thanks

Online 90 day reports are approved by your local office.

Your extension ending has nothing to do with 90 day reports. They are 2 separate things you have to do.

What would be the reason that you would get a date of 90 days to report past your extension stay, (especially at the end part of your extension which this was) if you cant use it, as you have previously explained to me?

It seems to me that the IO did the pragmatic thing of tying it to the end of my extension date, so as not to confuse the idea that the date reported overrides the extension as I think you are suggesting by them not being coupled in any way.

I have done it a couple of times this year. Firstly you need to go to the bank branch with your passbook, passport and all the usual stuff.

They will probably tell you that it cannot be done, (they did to me), so I simply said call the head office and they will tell you how to do it. It took some 2 hours as the branch was very busy but it eventually happened. It took another 30 minutes for the bank to get their part done and give me a receipt.

About 3 or 4 days later I got a message confirming the transaction and a way of doing it online from my pc.

I paid the 1.050 baht fee at this end as it was easier.

I hope that this is of some help.

Thanks for that. How did you find the rate, and the how long was it until funds arrived? Regards

  10. I see that you can send international payments through online app.

I want to send 400,000 to my UK bank account. (natwest account)

I see that it states you can send and pay 200 badt and then pay fee on the UK side or pay 1050 badt and no fees on international side.

Has anyone done this recently, what was their experience, any issues with sending, rates, troubles with bank etc?

    I appreciate your input

Not if a rogue local office only dated the report to the day his extension ends. There are a few odd offices that do it that way.

I did it online. so unless the Online people have gone rogue this might be done to stop confusion as has been shown in the thread. why would the 90 day report have any relevance past the extension end date...?

It is valid for 90 days.

Clearly not, if they give it to me and the date finishes with the extension and didnt extend beyond it, it was done online not by a specific office. Maybe its done so as not to, as in the case in this thread, confuse people. They also wanted this paperwork for my new extension, so it is very much necessary (as they set the rules) for paperwork, even though it seems a quirk of this IO.

There was recent report along the lines of what your stating.

The 90 report "next date" was given up to the end of permit.

    I don't believe that's the norm.

I would do the report and if something silly happens just do another at same time as your next extension.

    thanks

The problem with the online way is I just keep being sent in circles through links I cant find the APPLY link to fill in my details it just keeps bringing up instructions after online services....
