  1. Hi all.

Im on my first non o wife extension. Have been here 14 years but would get a multiple entry every year making land border crosses at swannahket each time.

Normally, because its 90 days, you have about a week left out of the year and you can do one more border stamp for 90 days, this means you are able to stay outside of the visa validity of a year and of course renew or extend.

Is this the same for 90 day reporting, ie

Will it extend outside the visa validity of 1 year like with multiple entry or not?

    Thanks for your reply

  2. I can confirm chiangmai immigration by airport will update 60 day wife visa if submitted before September deadline for free to Dec 30 but this is last day.

Got there early after lunch, first there not a big queue.

    Went in.

She knew exactly what I wantedjust by giving her my passport opened on page.

I gave her copies of every page of passport and tm30.

Got passport back with November crossed out Dec 30 stamped in.

Hardly any people there hardly any staff, waited til after lunch, everyone seemed in a good mood. Man at the front spoke to me for half an hour telling me interesting opinions about immigration working there for 20 years.

All in all a good day.

I saw some guy at MTT in exactly your position spending a long time trying to convince the immigration officer to give him the extra 30 days but they just refused. You'll either get it or you won't depending on the office. I don't think you can "turn" them.

    If you say so.

Very relaxed in immigration today not many staff, many of the small group of people being refused, mostly medical and strange requests.

    handed my passport

she looked at me, I smiled, and I think this was key.

She said update to december. I nodded.

Now you might say that she wasn't turned around by such a handsome figure but it's just your opinion.

I dont think it is true what ndreamer says. They are meant to change your stamp to the 31st  December but not all offices are doing it. If you look through this thread someone was successful at Kong Kaen. Others have just been sent away. I am going to try it at Jomtien. Don't fancy my chances. Maybe things will change.

Im going in now to try and charm a battleaxe but they generally dislike me so I will not expect a miracle.

    Regards

They are not the same extension. The new 60 day extension is more or less the new amnesty immigration has adopted.

Not sure your extension to visit you wife can have the date changed. Some offices have done it and others have said ti does not qualify to start from November 30th.

You should be able to apply for the new 60 day extension near to when your current one to visit your wife ends.

    Thank you.

Yes thank you, I understand they're not the same, I actually had to sign the affidavit when doing my wife extension in September, which made it more confusing now. I'm wondering whether I could extend my wife's 60 day as I was told can only do this once espevially as I heard issues with embassy letters. Then I saw this note, all visas apply from 1st November on immigration website so I couldn't tell.

I might go in today and try to turn one of the battle-axes..

  6. Hi I've asked a few times, confused between amnesty 60 day and 60 day extension for wife which I did in September so that I have a stamp date for November 25th.

What I'm wondering is if I go to immigration before 31st will my visa be upgraded to start from November and end in December?

how does this amnesty 60 day work in relation to this wife extension, as I was told I'm only allowed to use it once.

I am wanting to extend for a year for wife have 400k in september but would like any extra time I can get. Thank you

That's a different type of extension. You can wait until next month and do the amnesty extension or apply for 1 year extension if you have all the correct documents before it's to late.

I was hoping to get the update starting from November 1st till end of december by going in before the 31st, as I heard that all visas would be updated as such, or have I confused something?

  8. I have been watching other threads to confirm, but as of yet, have not seen anyone mention so far.

Does anyone know if a 60 day extension of marriage, done early September which gave me until 25th November qualifies for the extra add that's just come out or not?

I am going to apply for my first 1 year extension so it helps for the extra timeframe(albeit not vital).

    Thank you

  9. Hi

I was on the marriage o visa multiple entry, my next out for 90 days was march 28th the visa expired on june 6th, which then was automatically extended by this immigration amnesty.

If I wanted to get a 60 day extension from chiangmai, is this possible of the back of this amnesty, and what would I need?

    (Normally would goto savvahnaket.)

Any one who has done this locally would be great to hear from you.

    Thanks

You qualify for the amnesty and can stay until July 31st without doing anything at immigration.

If it is not extended again you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife instead of leaving and re-entering the country to a new 90 day entry prior to

My non 0 marriage visa ends on june 6th with my next 90 day being on 28th may, can I still have waivered stay until 31 july and then hopefully go to savannahkhet to reapply for visa (if borders are open)?

    Thank you for any replies
