A British woman and her Thai spouse are seeking justice following an allegation of assault in their Bangkok condominium. The woman claims her confrontation with a security guard resulted in significant mental health issues. However, CCTV footage suggests she initiated the physical exchange.
Boon-ek Wongsuriyawattana, the Thai husband, and his British wife, Ayesa, recently sought help from the Foundation Campaigning to Reclaim Social Justice (CRSJ). The couple alleges the 27-year-old security guard, Mohammad Ayan, physically assaulted Ayesa in their Chong Nonsi luxury condominium in the early morning of December 12, 2021. After the incident, they left the condo due to Ayesa's deteriorating mental state.
Boon-ek recounts that his wife woke the sleeping security guard to ask about his whereabouts. After a brief argument, she turned to leave, and the guard reportedly punched her, resulting in facial fractures and bruising. Reports say the assault caused Ayesa to develop depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, leading her to isolate herself and refuse medical treatment, which worsened her injuries.
The couple has recently filed a complaint at Bang Pong Pang Police Station, resulting in an arrest warrant for Mohammad. However, he has not yet been apprehended. They also revealed that Mohammad's security license was fake and that his employers have not cooperated with the investigation. The CRSJ Foundation has pledged to help the couple.
Nevertheless, a CCTV clip on social media appears to show Ayesa initiating the attack before Mohammad retaliated. The public reaction suggests the guard should have remained calm rather than fighting back. The security company and Mohammad himself have not offered any further clarification.

Police are searching for the gunman who shot dead a 10 year old girl on a palm plantation in the southern province of Krabi. The girl’s family believes the shooting was motivated by a dispute over land concessions.
The fatal shooting took place in a palm plantation in the Khao Panom district of Krabi at about 8pm on Wednesday, April 17. The deceased, 10 year old Neeranuch “Mai” Narkwong, was shot in the back of her neck and died upon arrival at the hospital.
Mai’s aunt told ThaiRath that five children, including Mai, were playing together outside a hut on the palm plantation when the incident occurred. The aunt said she heard several gunshots and saw Mai collapse. She rushed to carry Mai while other children crouched on the ground in fear.
According to the aunt, the gunman committed the crime alone and fled the scene on foot, as she did not hear the sound of a motorcycle or car engine. She was unable to determine the direction in which the perpetrator had gone.
The aunt further explained that Mai and her parents had moved into the hut six to seven months prior. The land on which they resided belonged to the Royal Forest Department, and Mai’s family held a concession to operate a palm plantation.
As the concession was nearing expiration, Mai’s family faced the prospect of losing their livelihood. Consequently, they remained on the plantation, hoping to appeal to officials to renew their concession.
Mai’s family was not the sole local community in need of the land. Others also sought the concession, leading Mai’s family to believe that this could have been the motive behind the shooting.
Khao Panom Police Station officers investigated the shooting scene and found nine bullet holes on a cottage wall.
Police estimated that the gunman was approximately 10 to 15 metres away from the cottage when firing the shots. However, they had not yet uncovered any substantial evidence to ascertain the identity of the gunman.Officers surmised that the perpetrator did not have lethal intentions and merely sought to intimidate Mai’s family. Police announced their intention to summon Mai’s parents and relatives for questioning at a later time.

And these same treaties prevent double taxation, through exclusivity or by tax credits. But, yeah, they don't have the right to tax savings -- and there's no plan to do so. The rumor that all remittances into Thailand will be subject to taxation is pure baloney. Unless it's a direct deposit of a taxable foreign income, like a private pension, then it's up to you to parse what's income and what's savings, in that cash flow of fungible money into Thailand. The banks certainly can't determine what is and what isn't income. Nor can RD.
So it's up to you to determine whether or not you have a Thai tax obligation. For many of us, already paying our home country taxes on worldwide income, our total tax bill between home country and Thailand probably won't change -- with, now, Thailand finally getting some tax revenue, and the home country losing same tax revenue, by having to grant a credit. Ho hum.
Certainly it wouldn't be cost effective for RD to man up to check all tax situations of foreigners. In fact, it may make sense to go with what we've already heard, namely: "Pay tax in your home country, no need to file Thai tax return." But, just to make it scary for tax cheats, set up random tax compliance audits. And, of course, if you're not paying tax to your home country, now you have the opportunity to pay someone something. Sounds good to me.

Have you got a screw loose or something agreeing to to this
For 10 years i was working abroad 4 weeks on 4 weeks off 2009 to 2019, my tax status in Australia is non resident for tax purposes, i have been working in middle east country's which do not impose taxes so the money i get is 100 percent my money in the bank and is 100 % legal by law.
How is it that Thailand could tax my income when I'm am not working in Thailand and living there on a spouse visa.
So now and for the last 5 years i have been living with my family (thai) in Oman working a 9 to 5 office job tax free, was planning to retire in Thailand but if they start to impose tax on money i bring into Thailand when i retire no way will in be moving back there which many other falangs will choose the same, Thailand as always will shoot themselves in the foot and loose out, they dont think of the big picture that is investing in real estate the falang supporting the in laws etc etc
