But, surely (in the future), anyone can go to a private hospital and get a vaccine. or has this been ruled out for the future ?
For sure sometime in the "future" this will be an option. The question is just how far in the future. Q4 2021, 2022, or 2023?

AstraZeneca is preferable choice for those who want to travel a lot. Because it is used widely everywhere. For example, it will help you if you are planing to stay in Thailand for a long time and to make visa runs to Laos. AZ is approved in Laos already.
This guy is a russian or chinese troll and all his posts should be ignored.
Admins can you do anything about someone constantly spreading misinformation?

Thank you for the information.
So basically there is no difference practically when entering Thailand no matter if you had it or not?The requirements are exactly the same?
Yes that's correct.

He will still need a COE, pcr test, covid insurance, and he will have to do a 14 day quarantine just like everyone else. His previous covid infection and vaccination status currently don't change anything.

Yah, appears to be Chinese troll to me. Russian are usually a bit more sophisticated.

Many countries have ordered Pfizer. I suggest they receive about 100 000 doses/month. It does not matter how much have been ordered and in what country outside the US/EU. They cannot get more than 100k/month. But Sinovac`s typical delivery is about 0.5 - 1m per month.
Philippines has already received 200k this month and is expecting 2.2 million more to arrive before the end of the month.

Dozens of countries outside the EU/US have ordered or are already using these vaccines. For example, neighboring philippines has already received shipments of Pfizer and they just signed a massive deal for more. They also already made a similar deal with moderna.

well, since people are free to roam around the island I don't see much difference to an individual. I guess a tracking app will be mandatory anyway...
You are just assuming people will be free to roam around. Wait until the details are announced.
I would bet you will not be free. You will probably be restricted to the grounds of your hotel and maybe a certain section of beach for 2 weeks and only allowed to leave on group tours.

In anticipation of Phuket opening, several carriers have added almost daily flights directly to Phuket beginning July 1. They include Malaysian, Qatar, Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Air
I would strongly advise against booking a flight until they announce the details. I have a feeling that all the conditions, restrictions, and expenses will make this whole thing unappealing to most people.

The only difference in theory will be not booking an ASQ hotel.
Details haven't been announced yet. Wait for the details.
I predict a very long list of restrictions, and requirements, and that you will have to book a very expensive 2 week package at a resort in phuket.

Does anyone know if I could continue from BKK to Phuket? My current flight lands July 2 at 11:20 pm
If you are referring to possible quarantine free travel to Phuket starting in July, the details of that haven't been announced yet. That is just a possible plan that maybe might happen. Don't get too excited about it until they release all the details, requirements, restrictions, expenses, etc, etc.
Even if it does happen, it is impossible that they will allow people to take regular domestic flights to Phuket. You may have to take an international flight direct to Phuket or maybe they will arrange special connecting flights from BKK to Phuket.

I think you need to do more research.
There are very strict quarantine requirements to enter Thailand. You have to do a 14 day hotel quarantine. It has to be pre-booked and you need a pre-appoved Certificate of Entry before you will be allowed to board a plane to Thailand.
You will not be allowed to go to Phuket or anywhere until your quarantine is complete.

Did they keep your covid test results in Bangkok or just look at them? If they kept them what did you show the custom officers in the USA?
They won't keep it. Customs in the US will accept an electronic version of the test result. Take a picture of it with your phone for a backup if you are worried.
Relax, your trip will go fine.

But Cambodia is practically a province of China, so they have had much easier access to sinovac. They probably traded more of their valuable ocean front land to chinese casino developers in exchange for it.

All carriers that I noticed at the transit desk in Tokyo last month were requesting it also.
What was you scenario? Did you change carriers and have to get a boarding pass in Tokyo? Thats like checking in again, so I can see why they would check it in that rare scenario.
If you are flying the same carrier and get all boarding passes in BKK, you don't even go to the transit desk.

3 hour layover then 9 more hours to get back to San Francisco. That'll take us to 67 hours which fits within 72 however USA requires 3 days not 72 hours so it can be any time on the 19th. Obviously I hope no significant delays.
The only requirement is 3 days before departure.
Here is the official cdc link.

None have been fully fda approved. Emergency use only.
Pfizer has already completed testing required for full FDA approval in the US and applied for approval. They should receive full approval in a matter of weeks. The other vaccine manufacturers will probably follow soon.

Japan doesn't even require a negative covid test to transit. They won't ask for it there.
However, you will very likely be asked for the test result in SFO as soon as you get off the plane, so keep it handy.

Anti-gen test can also use saliva.
The ones i've seen advertised in Thailand use a swab. Maybe someone else knows if there are any hospitals in thailand that just take a saliva sample.

This is the order in question. It specifically mentions "antigen".
You seem to be confusing antigen tests and antibody tests. They are completely different.
An antibody test is a blood test.
An antigen test is not a blood test. It is a nasal and/or throat swab same as a pcr test.

Good advise. I've never heard of a list of approved places to get a pcr test. I think any hospital is fine, but if you want to be extra safe, call your airline and ask. They are the ones who will determine if you can get on the plane and requirements can vary between airlines.
