  1. Also the beach chairs have been moved back (after the sand kicking incident) so you can put a towel down and your own brolly rather then pay 100 baht for a chair smile.png every little helps

Same in Naklua, Wongamat. They even had channel 3 filming it.

  2. The areas flavor had become overly Russian. More balance and diversity is very welcome. More international variety city. Less Pattayagrad. May it happen.

Koreans and Chinese are not going to change the demographic at all. (I don't know how the OP makes the distinction).... if they are actually replacing Russians there will be less diversity. Chinese have been #1 or #2 on the list for many years.

Some of these Chinese are actually Japanese or Korean though, and to be seen spending cash in shops and bars too. All to the good.

I would also say the average Chinese tourist that I have seen in Pattaya this year are a little more cosmopolitan in outlook than previous years?

  3. Actually, most of the world has their own unique way of eating. When I was in iraq, people would eat with their right hand and wipe their asses with the left. Not the way I would live but it's the way they have for a long, long time. So be it. Now either please keep the thread on topic or don't post on it.

I watched a part of a cooking show on one of the Arabic Channels. The cook/presenter definitely used both hands on the food....hmmm.

  4. The clinic near the Jomtien Bus Station seems fine. Start down the hill from Pratumnack Hill. When you see FoodMart turn in there. In the corner across from Food Mart.

Dr. Mongkol is a Board Certified Internist. Allergist , and Rheumatologist in the US.

He tells me the exact same things Drs. in the US have been telling me for years. And I mean word for word. His nurse(wife) is an expert on cleaning and debridement of road rash.

I agree Dr Mongkol is good and is my first choice for most illnesses, but note he does not do any surgery, however minor.

  5. If you are asking about a 12 month extension of stay obtained from Immigration in Thailand here is a rough guide:

    (1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

    (6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.

    OR.

If income from outside Thailand: Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.

If Income from Thailand: Statements showing Income Tax receipts.

    Marriage Certificate. (Kor Ror 3)

Marriage Registry entry. (Kor Ror 2)

Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.

    Your Passport.

    Copies of everything.

Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.

A map showing the way to your house.

Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.

Take your Wife to be interviewed.

One or two witnesses may be required.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month and get the remainder.

"One or two witnesses may be required."

Yes I managed to overlook that one as it's not on the Immigration info list.

They told me yesterday, for a first time extension, I need to bring one witness (to the fact that we are living together)along with originals and copies of their ID and house book and photos of the 3 of us together.!
