  1. how can they know if they were wearing helmets?

or did they check the willy seize

and came to the conclusion : these cannot be thai weeners

..please dont go down that route, its one of those "zzz" fallacies (or should that be "Phallacies" tongue.png) that always has me scratching my head wondering why so many (straight) farang guys talk about Thai mens manhoods. Unless you guys are basing it upon on personal experience (in which case, bad luck!), then realise its just hearsay (or likely what you have heard from Thai ladies to boost up your ego). Its up there with the tooth fairy and the "handsum man" fable.

There's been quite a lot of research that shows Thai men, on average, can't match the length and girth of the average Western man. Google is your friend (he has a short penis).

    According to this site: http://www.targetmap.com/viewer.aspx?reportId=4923

    USA average is 5.1 inches

    Aus average is 5.2 inches

    UK " " 5.5 inches

    Brazil " " 6.2 inches

    Congo is 7 inches

Singapore and cambodia is 4.5 inches (burma 4.6)

So thats approximately half an inch difference between a man from the USA and a man from Singapore ..and it doesnt mention anything about girth...or performance.

Does that half inch (AVERAGE) difference really make you all think you are carrying some kind of salami in your trousers whilst the thai man has the equivelant of a pinky finger?

Ultimately the qualifier is that ive yet to hear of any farang woman thats complained about about noticing any kind of difference..

    just my two satangs!

sorry..just gets a tad tedious reading certain things that are blown out of proportion over and over again..

  3. "Last night i saw you in my dream".
Which makes the dreamer "think that you have some problem or that you are missing our friendship"

(For some, if one sees a friend in their dreams they see it as the friend must be thinking of them, or that the friend is in need or has a problem. ..or the dream is used as an excuse to reach out in some way)

  4. It has come to my attention that the established forum "rules" are missing some important stipulations for being a thai visa forum member.

One rule in particular seems to be to ensure that if ever you post up a thread, you must log in to respond, thank, and bestow great appreciation for responses ASAP, otherwise you will be met with distain. Woe betide you actually dont have time or even inclination (inconceivable!). Or just needed replies and then off doing whatever it is you needed advice on.

So anyway, what are the seemingly unspoken rules of Thaivisa forum you can think of?

#1: In order to be valid considered member, you must regularly log in, or better yet logged at all times via mobile or other device.

    #2: ?

  5. Not arrogant in the least.

Just replying in defence for seemingly not replying early enough and not wishing to have members think their advice was not gratefully recieved.

I am also happily offer opinions and advice to other members enquiries without expecting feedback...which i have done many times.

Im sorry that you feel a minute of your life has been wasted.

Occasionally on thaivisa i sometimes feel its easier not to ask for advice at all...at times it comes with so many invisible unspoken conditions. :/

Thank you again all...i DO actually appreciate the advice given (and apologies if that was unclear)

  6. Thanks all. I decided to put off an island trip for now. I had just flown in from a UK visit, was jetlagged and tired and looking for something relaxing and stress free, before returning to Chiang Mai. After reading up a bit i ended up just resting in bkk a while then flying back to cm. The island idea seemed more like stress than i had planned!

  7. I always give feedback, just that i have a life outside of Thaivisa.

That does not mean i am ungrateful for advice, it just means that my first thoughts are not to get online to a forum, but rather do whatever is my priority..which is generally many things before even thinking to log into this forum (this is my first log in to the forum in about a week. Maybe thats inconceivable to many lol??..).

Thanks to all for the advice, it helped me make the decision to not visit at this time.

I had just come back from a short visit to the UK and was very jetlagged, so rested up in bangkok for a few days instead of flying south.
Just figured i needed some down time before getting back to my life in Chiang Mai.

I will certainly provide feedback if i do decide to visit Phuket at another time. However, it does honestly sound less than appealing, just from general reports and feedback..and will likely check out Koh Tao or another less negatively portrayed southern area. Thats not to say Phuket is not wonderful when you are actually there (i am not to know!), its just that my requirements were to be somewhere stress free..and it just didnt seem the right place given the feedback.

  8. Apologies if there is a thread on this aready, having problems navigating on my phone.

Does anyone know all the various direct flight options for traveling to the islands from cm?

I know air asia offer direct to Phuket at a good price, but just wondered if there are any more direct options.

Plus...if anyone has any tips/suggestions/cautions or warnings about Phuket or other island that may be suggested, please could you reply. I will be a solo female traveller, so wish to make sure i will be safe.

    Thanks so much!

  9. Hi fellow members from the south. Im thinking of visiting Phuket tomorrow for a couple of days.

Any suggestions of good places or areas to stay? (im not on a big budget, but dont want to "slum" it. Plus im in my own and female, so want to feel safe)

Weather wise i realise its rainy season, but is sunbathing totally out? (not worried if it is, just that no beaches in chiang mai where i live, so doing the beach thing would be nice).

    Any warnings?

Im careful when traveling solo, but is Phuket generally safe for single females...?

I will mainly visiting to wind down.

    Any other tips or suggestions?

    Thanks so much!

  10. Go out to the x-center and talk to Ian he rode his CRF to Burma on a 7 or 10 day trip a few months back. I think he can give you all the feed back you need or at least lots of info

Eek did you have on a full face helmet when you crashed, as I was sliding across the rode recently I got a bit freaked out when I saw the pavement so close but then relaxed when I realized the helmet was doing its job of protecting my face

Thanks Moe. I will have a chat with Ian.

I was wearing a REAL brand half-face helmet. I was naive.

The helmet was ever so slightly large (i take an xs helmet and i couldnt find any here).

I had the visor down, but when i fell (i dont recall the actual accident as i sustained concussion), my helmet apparently slipped back and gravel and stones got into the helmet, basically tearing up parts of my face (which were ripped and hanging away). I have been EXTREMELY lucky, not just injury wise, but the fact that my face shows very little damage considering. I still need to have my nose straightened, but i want to find the right person, at the right time, because i just dont want to put myself through any more surgery.

Of course, Khun Yuam hospital xrayed me and found ZERO breakages. Wasnt until i got to Chiang Mai that my torn finger ligaments, smashed up right side of hand, and smushed up deviated septum and broken nose were discovered..mainly because i KNEW there was something wrong, and felt i couldnt trust the results of that xray.

I now have an imported Shoei helmet (full face) and a Nolan motocross helmet.

I learned...the hard way.. but at least the helmet did its job in keeping my skull protected. Im alive.

The REAL brand helmet after the accident:

  11. Im flying to London for a couple of weeks to visit family.
Last time i visited, after only two days i was craving some Thai food.

My cousin kindly took me to a posh Thai restaurant affair..and the food was ..utterly tasteless.

The menu was weird and the flavours were bland.
I dont need (nor want) a posh "fusion" Thai swanky place..would love to know where, if any, REAL Thai restaurants are.
Preferably with Thai chef/staff..as the posh one had ZERO Thai!
..anyone have any gems they care to share?

Im seriously considering resorting to packing some mama noodles...lol....

  12. Thanks for the replies so far.

As pointed out, tires can of course be changed, so not too concerned about that.

I have a little scooter for around town (which ive actually done most of the north of Thailand on...lol..and downhill twisties ive even beaten big bikes whilst on the fino..which is kinda funny really).

I had a terrible accident last year at a back road near Khun Yuam (whilst wearing a helmet..still broke my nose and hand ..scars..etc..pretty bad stuff, but anyway moving on!).
Since then ive rented dtrackers (road riding) and KLX (for dirt biking). I havent tried the CRF yet.

Like the drz400sm, but out of my budget, plus if i drop it, the parts would be hard to come by.

Most of my riding is twisties on regular (THAI..ie. potholes!) roads. Northern trips such as Phu Chi Fa, Mae Salong, Mae Hong Son, and short trips around Samoeng loop in CM etc.
Happy with my automatic scooter for town, but i need to set my sites on my own bigger bike..one with some damn suspension!
Rental bikes feel like a waste of money, plus often they are in poor condition.
So..weighing up the dtracker and CRF is what i see as my most suitable options, both in terms of budget and how i ride (i will also be looking for 2nd hand bikes, rather than new).
..unless anyone has any other suggestions of what to look at?

  13. You are right about the dtracker photo...but would like to know more why you all so far would choose the Honda over it.
What kind of riding do you prefer?
Which one handles the twisties better?
    What about suspension?

For example..on the Pai road, which one do you think would offer a more enjoyable ride (in your opinion)?

  14. .... I took a ride up there early eve and they were on their way down. Absolutely disgusting mess of rubbish littered in their wake. Some workers were cleaning up thestreets after them. .. but why not teach them to be responsible? !! Teaching instead to believe there is always someone around to clean up their shit. Im sick of witnessing disregard for littering. Even if a bin nearby, the ground is easier...!

Agreed. I was going to mention in my original post, but I didn't want the topic to stray. smile.png It was really awful, trash was thrown everywhere, and the smallest amounts of trash were in the litter bins put up by the Oishi tea vendor. Most of it was just thrown into the side of the road and into the forest. Sad.

Im sorry to take it off topic, but i feel this is really important.

This should be basic education imo..CMU should have them up there cleaning as part of "bonding" for the students. NOT bonding over how irresponsible they can be.

This morning!! (AFTER a major cleaning up) This is STILL what remains..

EVERYWHERE!! The entire length of the base of the temple road, to the temple itself.

    They should be ashamed.
