My understanding is that the "Under Consideration" period counts as a new extension and so invalidates the existing Re-entry Permit. I've been wrong in the past mind.

So, whatever his dates are he will need a re-entry permit for the under-consideration period.

Of course, you can guarantee that, if you ask your immigration office and they say "no need", you will meet an officer at the airport with the opposite opinion.

IMHO it's worth the cost of a single re-entry permit to remove all doubt.

That only happens if you apply in last few days of your extension validity where your under consideration goes beyond your existing extension date but you are permitted to remain under consideration. So if you went out you would invalidate but if you apply early leave and return with the date of your existing extension date it’s ok and two immigration officers confirmed this as I was worried about leaving and re-entering but I had 5 days left on my extension and re-entry permit and was given a stamp on re-entry 5 days taking me up to my renewal date

  2. I just did it last month my extension was expiring on 11th April I applied on 5th March at Cheangwattana and was give a return date of 11th April. Immigration officer said my current visa and multi entry re-entry permit remain valid. I went out 13th March and returned 6th April and was given 5 days on my stamp on entry up to my new extension date. Picked up extension on 11th April.

  3. I went along to submit my marriage extension application last Friday at Chaeng Wattana. Whilst I was there, I asked 2 separate immigration officers if I can travel during the under-consideration period as my current extension of stay and multiple re-entry permit expire on 11th April and that's the day I collect my new extension, they both confirmed that as long as I'm back before 11th April then I can travel but when I reenter I will only be given a stamp on stay based up to 11th April so when I return on 5th April they will give me 6 day stamp date. Applying early so that the under consideration is within your current extension validity seems to allow you to travel with a valid re-entry permit.

The under consideration stamp date invalidates previous extension and re entry permit. I travelled during this period in dec23 and got a single entry stamp as advised by IO. Once the extension for one year is stamped you can get a multi entry. The only issue with leaving the country during this period is to ensure you can be at immigration office on the date shown on your under consideration stamp. You’ll have problems if you don’t and may end up applying all over again if you’re not present on the day.

I have postponed my trip I will leave when everything is final.

When we applied for a Marriage extension a few months ago, my wife was told that there would be no home visits for ongoing marriage extensions in Chiang Mai.  For us, this turned out to be true; we were never contacted to do a home visit.

I only had for the initial application and nothing last year even though I had let it lapse as I was in Europe the tail end of covid so started the process again so really this is my first extension on last year's new submission.

I believe once you apply for the extension, you will need a new re entry permit, the existing one is not valid.

Sort with the office about home visit, and yes you are allowed to go during under consideration period, as I have done it last year.

Thanks for your feedback. I always get a new re-entry permit on the day I get my new extension stamp.

I disagree and/or it's not my experience for retirement.

    The transactions are examined closely.

Same day or not, the 800K rule was broken.

Of course you can ask for leniency, but in cases like this, I consider leniency unlikely.

That said, they may indeed agree to an OVERSTAY situation to wait for the money to season again without going under.

We just have a difference of opinion on how to approach this, I would rather have an issue about the money than falsify documents through and agent but that's my view and I Know it's not shared by all, but I also don't think all immigration issues are the same or all officers trying to hide it or fake it is much worse an issue. If it happened last month and need to season for 2 that's a month's overstay which I believe is a bigger issue.

No the one thing that you've gotten wrong here is that once you pay that fee it is the immigration agent who has committed fraud, and that fraud is entirely on them, not me. My visa is completely legitimate and the agent is the one who's entirely vulnerable. At least in theory.

The other aspect of this is that getting caught submitting fraudulent documents to immigration is likely a serious crime, on the other hand using documents that immigration has created for you is no crime at all.

If they ever investigated a visa through agents and asked for real updated statements and you couldn't provide the same details, I don't think your visa would be considered legitimate when the funds were not in the bank. And this will happen one day.

  9. I think you can explain to them as you have here it was taken accidentally and replaced immediately. They may be rigorous and difficult at times, but I believe they would overlook a shortfall that was replaced the same day.  if it was for days or weeks that would be different. If you try and trick them and get caught that would be a problem. Only explain if asked they may miss it i never seen them look too closely at my statements when i do my marriage extension. Thats would be my way to deal with it.

And the reason why immigration is to be slashed by 300k is what? We no longer need the manpower? Our universities are no longer able and/or willing to educate overseas students? And not allowing spouses to join their partners will achieve what exactly?

They are targeting the group of immigrants who work hard and support the UK economy such as nurses and students. Completely wrong approach.
