  1. Ok, first you can buy an Infant ticket and they sit on your lap, or you request a seat which has a cot in front. This will be the same cost and it is much better for you and baby. Holding them for so long is difficult. If you buy a childs ticket they have their own seat, so more expensive. Infant tickets are cheaper than regular tickets but still cost.

You can take as much baby food, liquid as you require.

You enter the UK on UK passport and you will need to show that when checking in to show that they can stay. I assume you also have a Thai passport for the baby? You use that to leave and then re enter Thailand on.

  2. 1. I would like to see Thailand make an effort to put all Electric power lines in towns under ground. This would improve the look of the place 10 fold and make it much safer.

    2. Also tidy up the stray dogs (but they did take 10 dogs or so off the soi where I have a house this week so that is a start).

    3. Pick up the litter! Some areas are spoilt by litter/rubbish just dumped on them.

    4. I would like to see an improvement in the visa/work permit regulations for foreigneers wishing to enter Thailand. Not just Thailand but globally and for Thais travelling. It is a human nature to explore and these generally silly rules need to be modernised so what.

    5. Allow foreigneers to own Thai land, yes I would like the option.

Make it like Singapore you mean?

    No just improve it.

Can't own land in Singpaore either!

  4. This one is not fair to bash Thai's too much, becuase it actaully happens a lot in Asia I think.

I live in Singapore and get the same situations as the OP describes. In Singapore, yes the MRT has signs where to stand, notices to let people off, videos saying let people go first, but no one appears to take notice. They just think the train is here I gotta get on.

The ATM machine is the same. Although the last time I remember that happening to me was at the Goldern Mile Complex, which is the Thai center, so could have been a Thai :)

But all the stopping in the street, walking slow they do it in Singapore much the same. It is so dam rude.

Don't get me started on Asian driving! The more expensive the car, the worse the driver I think. The term giving way, slowing down for someone, moving the steering wheel just a touch so you don't nearly knock me off my bike! Just does not happen. You actually managed to get cut up from behind when driving in Asia with all the crazy inside line overtaking they do. And when you show your fustrations, you just get a blank expression back....

  5. Ok I know about the Phuket Fishing Park.

I know about Par Lai lake at the zoo? Is this open or closed?

I heard a rumor about a lake at Kathu is there one?

In the surrounding areas you can go to Gillmans in Krabi, is there any closer just north of the Island??

Appreciate any names and locations that people can suggest.....

(and please save the google is your friend comments because:

    a. I have looked a lot and found many sites no up to date with information, and

    b. I don't expect all fishing lakes to have a website (and resturant, swimming pool and bungalows) just looking for all not necessary the Pay and Play fish farm types)

    Many Thanks

  6. once again every single airline in the world is in financial hardship and struggling so why should air asia be any different/

    Not true.

Southwest Airlines in the States and Ryanair in Europe are still making profits.

Is it a coincidence that they too, like Air Asia, are "budget" airlines with similar business practices?

Actually it is probably more to do with the fact that they have all had decent hedge strategy with regards to their fuel requirements. Something which 2 years ago was not the case for Air Asia....

  7. JetStar are to resume their Phuket to Singapore flights twice daily, 7 days a week from Mid December!

HappyAir are launching a Phuket to Hat Yai daily flight sometime in November.....

Anymore new flights added that anyone knows about?

Also I must add that there has been a considerable cleanup and ongoing improvements to Phuket International Airport. Ok it still has along way to go but it is starting. Depatures has more small resturants etc. and on arrival they have clapmed down on the touts a little. Plently of room for improvement but at lease it is starting to move in the right direction....

  8. You can rent a car from the airport from National, Avis or Budget - they all have counters.

But if you are going to Railey beach (which is the best) then you don't need a car because it is only accessable by boat.

If you stay in Ao Nang, you can get a car and long tail boat around to Railey for the day as there is not much nightlife there.

Ao Nang has some small bars and restuarants.

Hotels - there are loads to choose from in your budget you will get something good.

Not sure about the weather and boat hire try a normal travel agent in Ao Nang, but I am nt sure if they just arrange group tours rather than private hire

  9. If the connection is 2 hours in Doha, Qatar does a Thai Passport require a visa?

Logically the answer would be no because you would not go through immergration, but there is a risk of a delay or something and then the traveller would be stuck. So as Thai passport cannot purchase Visa on Arrival if a situation did arise do you therefore require a visa already? Is there a special transit/transfer visa?

Looking through the net I think it is ok if the connection is under 8 hours but can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks

  10. Tiger also resumed the Singapore - Krabi flights also!!

Can't find any info about Tiger from Krabi to Singapore??? Seems there is no schedules for Krabi??

I want to use their fligt to Singapore if possible?

It is on the Tiger Air website

They are resumming the Krabi flights from 25th October

    Current offer $5 + $50 tax 1 way

    Flight times are:

    KBV - SIN dpt 15.20 arr 17.55

    SIN - KBV dpt 14.10 arr 14.50

Not sure what days, but it is not every day, I think only 4 days a week.

  11. There is a lot of bashing on here about Singapore and I don't agree with much of it at all.

Is Singapore expensive? Yes, but then you can earn the money here to pay for it!! And it also depends on where you go and what you buy. You can eat and drink very expensive of very cheep! If I go to the supermarket in Singapore one week and Phuket the next Singapore is definatly cheaper for the basket of goods I buy.

I am not sure why some people automatically give Singapore a bad time, its a great place with plently to do and easy to travel out of.

And yes Male children who are chlidren of PR's are elligiable for National Service. If they are liabile for Thai National Service also they do the Singapore service only.

  12. I booked some Singapore - Hat Yai rtns on Friday....have a wedding in Hat Yai and was looking at a long trip either connect in Bangkok or drive from Phuket. I was waiting just thinking what I wanted to do and then low and behold they resume the flights. Saved me a fortune and tons of time!

Tiger also resumed the Singapore - Krabi flights also!!

  13. Is the OP whining about being fined or actually just informing everyone that not all BIBs are on the take?

I read the post that the OP knows he was breaking the law and when he saw the cops expected to be pulled over, but was actaully surprised that he was issued a formal ticket and told to go to the cop shop the next morning.....This would go against the trend of being pulled over and paying a bribe upfront to the BIBs own pocket and then going on you merry way.

Is the OP not actaully just highlighting that the police actaully did a good job in this case??

  14. We have the same problem making a video call on Windows Live using TOT. TT&T was not available in our area and so we had to have TOT.

Over the past week at has worked 35% of the time, sometimes just sound no pitcure, sometimes will not connect at all. I doubt there is much I can do about it, just wait for the technology/speeds to get better. In about 5 years I reckon it will work a charm, just need to put up with it for now.....
