Mistakes that to most of our eyes make us wonder "<deleted> were they thinking??!!?". And this by public health officials who are supposed to know what they are doing, well, at least better than most of us here. What's just as disturbing is that the people in this massive crowd don't seem to understand the dangerous situation they are in. Knowing the way that this government has been administering vaccines, it's more likely that they walked away with an infection instead of a jab.

I've been having this problem since then change as well. I can stay logged in on my laptop but cannot log in on my phone or tower computer without changing my password. Passwords are correct as I'm using a password manager. I guess the upside is that I'm wasting less time online 555

I've had a couple of bouts of this during my previous visits to Thailand and also since moving here. Years ago my MD in the US had given me Ciprofloxacin (before it was linked to tendon issues in some) to bring with me in case I had any GI issues. The times I did have trouble it seemed to clear it up for me in a day or so.
Keep in mind that the carbon capsules can bind up and neutralize the antibiotic so spread out the time that you take them.
If it continues I'd see a real doctor. Some of the pharmacists that I've encountered have been a bit dim.

(See location map here: https://goo.gl/maps/dFRM8oycooZTtQJW8).

This is a limited opportunity offered by the Thai Government. We do not know when/if similar opportunities will arise again in the future.
Registration information is being collected by the Royal Thai Government, not the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. The U.S. Embassy will not have access to information on the form.

Nevermind... it is full as of 09:45 Saturday. According to the US Embassy's website this was posted an hour ago, at around 08:45 Saturday. Amazing. My guess is that the Thai government just wanted to be able to say that they offered Aussies and Americans vaccines.

Agreed.
However, despite having registered for the Moderna vaccine, I've totally given up on getting vaccinated here in Thailand. Unlike the government (hope for the best, plan for the best) I've come to hope for the best and totally expect the worst. I have no confidence in them to do anything correctly or morally responsible when it comes to COVID.

When you finish ASQ you are certified to be free of COVID. But then when you walk out of the hotel you are entering a hotbed of COVID delta variant infections. ASQ made sense before but not much now, particularly for those who are vaccinated. Entry of new variants could be a concern but as we've seen repeatedly virus will get in through Thailand's porous land borders anyway.
Thailand could (and should) make it easier for those who can and want to get vaccinated abroad. However it would mean potentially losing face which, as we know, is unacceptable. Even when lives are at stake.

60% is not complete. Let me know when it's complete and when the delivery date is. Perhaps then, it will be news.
My house is 60% sold, my car has lost 60% of what I bought it for.
No one cares.
This could be Thonburi Group's way of pressuring the government to follow through with its responsibilities. If that doctor had not called Moderna a few weeks ago and publicized that the government, after months of assurances of action, never placed the vaccine order we probably would not have any import of mRNA vaccine. The government is evidently against importing vaccines from the west (Why??!?) so there's probably some value to letting the public know that the ball is in the government's side of the court.

Would the drivers of this new space economy be called Bar Beer Space or Bar Space Beer?
Someone has to serve the needs of the upcoming crop of space billionaires. But I bet the LT rates will be astronomical.

If American expats are not given access to the vaccine and start dying from covid I could imagine that it would generate some embarrassing news reports. Particularly with the reports that Thailand has on occasion denied foreigners equal access to vaccines. Embarrassing for maybe 12 hours or so until it's replaced by something else in the news cycle and quickly fades from American's shallow short-term memory.

Two weeks ago I went to do my 90 day report after moving in mid-May. There I was told by the IO that I needed to file a change of address form. I didn't know about this and figured that my address would be updated when the landlord filed the TM30. The IO didn't make a big deal of it and had me return with the completed TM28 (?) form and copied docs. He did not charge me the fine as it was my first offense.
Sadly, it goes without saying that your experience may be similar or very different.

2 hours ago, Patong2021 said:No. The EU manufactures both vaccines so it is not true Thailand does not "want" America product.
I believe it is because Thailand cannot get.
As I write many times before, countries make their order 12 months+ ago and these companies are only now fulfilling these orders. Thailand is at back of the line. Also, countries in COVAX system are prioritized since the vaccines in large part are being subsidised by USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. Thailand refused to join Covax.
Pfizer, Astra Zeneca and Moderna are regulated in USA, UK and EU and subject to strict anti corruption regulations. Vaccines manufactured in other countries including versions of Oxford vaccine are not subject to same regulations.
They are both made by American companies. Pfizer is headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan where the vaccine was initially produced to scale. Moderna, also a US company, has contracted with CMO's across the globe for manufacturing. Moderna got a huge chunk of its initial funding by BARDA, a US defense agency.
What you say doesn't make sense - 12 months ago neither product existed. And numerous countries have placed orders earlier this year and are seeing deliveries made. The Philippines is a great example where they signed a deal with Pfizer last week for delivery of vaccines in September. They also signed a deal with Moderna in January and doses have begun arriving this week. Malaysia has already gotten mRNA vaccines and is receiving donated Pfizer vaccine this week. So these claims about long queues that keep on popping up in defense of the government don't hold water. It can and has been done by smaller countries in the ASEAN region. And as was highlighted in today's news Thailand never even got in line.

This afternoon the Mrs was watching a news program that was covering this story. The newscaster seemed very angry about this. I've never seen that sort of tone on any Thai news program before.
I don't think this is negligence or incompetence. At this point I think it's reasonable to say that the Thai government absolutely does not want vaccines from America in Thailand.

How does one register for the vaccine at Thonburi Bamrungmuang? I scanned the QR code but it says that the login attempt failed. I've never set up an account with them and don't see anywhere that would allow me to do this. I've looked at several THG websites and there's nothing on the pages about vaccines. The only way I got to the vaccine webpage was by googling "thg-vaccine-web" that was listed in KhunBENQ's post (thanks btw).
I'm wondering if it's just me or another example of terrible communication in Thailand (or both).
Thanks in advance

Already manufactured, and Japan decided not t use it - they're going with PFizer and Moderna.
Every little bit helps, and Thailand is desperarate. Thank you Japan for donating these vaccines.
Japan wisely decides to go with the "A" team to vaccinate its citizens while donating the "B" team vaccines to a country that has proudly dedicated itself to the "C" team's vaccines.
I wonder if there is a condition, perhaps unwritten, that provides for Japanese nationals to be vaccinated with donated vaccine. For their sake I hope so.

More over-promising and under-delivering. Just as we saw with the promises for Siam Bioscience's timelines and production levels. In the end a bitter disappointment that the government apparently couldn't see coming and didn't prepare for.
Each day confidence in the government's ability to deal with this situation erodes. Really, it shouldn't be this difficult. I'm worried that with the limited shelf life and temperature sensitivity of the Pfizer vaccine a significant portion will be wasted while the government tries to figure out how to distribute AFTER the vaccines arrive. Even worse would be if they inject mishandled vaccines anyway just to keep the numbers up. I wish this was hyperbole....
